I on the other hand see him as a stupid idiot who went shopping to find a hit man in the first place to murder his wife and then he turns around and tries to find another hit man to kill the first hit man. I actually hope he did just to bolster the case against him (and hopefully LE would be able to find and prosecute the those people).

I am really liking this court!
BB has no need for a laptop.
BB has misused the computer in the past.
BB having a laptop will only lead to more abuse, ie, trying to hire a NEW hit-man, sexual titillation, child port, etc..

Glad to see a court with some common sense!

And there goes a trial for BB this year. Stalling sure works out well for these murdering pigs. I'm glad he won't be getting a computer though.

I must question the wisdom of the judge in asking for longer pencils for BB. The short " golfers' " pencils or stubs are used for persons in custody for a reason: The stubs are not long enough to penetrate a heart, lung or deep into the throat in the event of a prisoner attacking another person. This is also why pens are NOT used without supervision in a prison. Pens are long enough and sturdy enough to be used as weapons to attack. Both long pencils and pens provide opportunity for the user to have control for stabbing whereas the short stub pens do not allow for depth penetration or much control of pencil beyond the finger tip.

I hope the longer pencils judge has called for with BB are used only in court and are collected each day by the defense attys, and BB is NOT allowed to take them back into the prison/jail environment where someone could be injured. I do NOT trust BB.... give the rat a cookie and he will ask for a glass of milk for his ulcer... and then he will poison the milk before offering it to another. JMO.

I totally agree, Freckles.  I was shocked    that she allowed different writing implements for him.  What makes him special?  I do think the intent is for him to use them in his cell, because in the previous hearing, he said he had to use those tiny ones to write out responses to his attorneys while he was reviewing documents in his cell.  That's why he had asked for a laptop.

For someone who is charged with murder, solicitation to murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and witness intimidation, etc., I'm just dumbfounded that she would allow that.

(this one and the JA judge and a few others I don't want to mention as they make my blood boil) I just don't understand how the rights of one outweigh the rights and safety of the many. New Attorneys Assigned In Grosse Pointe Park Murder Case

DETROIT (WWJ) – Accused wife killer Bob Bashara won’t be going on trial in March. Instead, a Wayne County Judge has agreed to allow two new attorneys to be assigned to the case.

WWJ Newsradio 950′s Kathryn Larson reported the defendant, seemingly in food spirits, walked into court on Tuesday armed with handwritten notes on a sheet of yellow legal paper.

He asked Judge Vonda Evans to remove his legal counsel, attorney Mark Procida.

Procida said he understood why his former client wanted a new lawyer, after he himself was unable to get Bashara all the sealed evidence.

DETROIT, MI -- A decision by Wayne County 36th District Judge Vonda Evans to replace Robert "Bob" Bashara's court-appointed attorneys will delay his trial at least a few months.

"Today Judge Vonda Evans removed the defense attorneys representing Bashara," the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement Tuesday. "She appointed two new attorneys and will announce the appointment of a third attorney at the next court date on March 11, 2014."

Bashara murder trial set for October; judge appoints new defense team

A new trial date was set today in the case of the Grosse Pointe Park man accused of first-degree murder in the death of his wife.

Bob Bashara's trial will begin Oct. 6 at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, and 16 jurors will be seated for the high-profile case, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Vonda Evans said.

She appointed Lillian Diallo and David Cripps to represent Bashara after saying last month she was removing his current legal team. Cripps' law partner and wife, Gabi Silver, also appeared in court at the defense table.

Attorneys met with the judge in chambers for nearly 30 minutes and when Evans returned to the courtroom, she said she was not appointing Cripps at this time.

In a strange turn of events, the judge in the Bob Bashara murder case rescinded her appointment of a defense attorney and order for an October trial.

Judge Vonda Evans withdrew her appointment of attorney David Cripps that she made last month and scheduled an April 4 hearing to address an apparent, undisclosed issue regarding his potential representation of Bashara.

...Evans also took back a scheduling order that included an Oct. 6 trial date and several other dates for attorneys to file and argue motions, and for prospective jurors to report to the courthouse for Bashara’s trial.

Seriously?? I mean really … are they ever going to get to this case? on a lighter note … maybe BB had a former connection or one of the people testifying has a connection… from a website etc…

DETROIT, MI -- An attorney who represented former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in his corruption trial last year made a brief court appearance Friday in the case of Robert Bashara, who is accused of helping his handyman kill his wife Jane Bashara.

Defense attorney James Thomas said he wants nothing further to do with the case, but was asked to appear only on Friday in place of attorneys David Cripps and Gabi Silver, who were previously appointed to represent Bashara.

Thomas asked Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans to remove Cripps and Silver from the case because of a potential conflict.

Evans agreed.

DETROIT - Bob Bashara was back in front of a Wayne County judge Friday, continuing his fight to get a second court-appointed attorney on his defense team for his upcoming murder trial. But instead of settling on the issue, there's now a worry that there isn't another lawyer that will take the case.

...Evans said other lawyers don't want to take the case. She will interview more lawyers, and tells Bashara he will know his legal team by April 15.

Bashara Defense Team Finally Set With McCarthy Appointment

"Michael J. McCarthy, based in Redford Township, was named to Bashara’s defense team Tuesday in Wayne County Circuit Court in Detroit, partnering with Lillian Diallo, who was named several weeks ago."

“Mr. McCarthy has been a lawyer for over 30 years,” she told Bashara in court. “He’s done a lot of high-profile cases, more or less in Oakland County. You will be very satisfied with his representation as I know you have been with Miss Dialo’s. I want you to know he is more than capable and more than willing to take your case.”

"McCarthy represented Mitchell Young, who last year was convicted of murder as an accomplice to co-defendant Tucker Cipriano in the death of Cipriano’s father, Robert, at the Cipriano home in Farmington Hills, and severe injuries to Cipriano’s mother and brother."

"She (Evans) set a schedule that set several motion hearing dates and maintained an Oct. 6 trial for Bashara."
