Oh happy day! Thanks for the updates, jacct, Alessandra, and all. I'm on the road today, but looking in from time to time. Hope the press conference will be available later to watch.

I am not sure what the evidence shows (as far as BB trying to hire a hit man) BUT what if his defense is that he wanted JG killed for him murdering his wife? I know that's not the case but I think if he can get away with using that poor me, someone killed my wife and I want revenge defense, BB would do it in a heartbeat. I wish we knew what the evidence is re the hit man. BB is such scum.

Speaking of mom, I saw a report on the day of BB's arrest (sorry no link handy) that she went to the police station trying to get into his Bobb-mobile after it was impounded... but was stopped by officers.

I haven't seen too much more discussion about this but whatever she was after....LE now has it!

I really hope that he wont be able to afford to get out of jail cuz he is so dangerous to anyone who crosses paths with him even though he will have gps attached to his ankle. Who know's what half baked idea he will come up with next.

(WXYZ) - Bob Bashara has been arraigned on one count of "Solicitation to Murder" in connection with an alleged plot to have his former handyman, Joe Gentz, killed in jail.
He was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in 36th District Court. A judge set bond at $15 million cash or surety. In arguing for a high bond, Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey said that Bashara posed a" substantial danger" and that "It is clear he is unravelling."

Bashara was arraigned on solicitation to murder charges Wednesday afternoon. A Wayne County judge set his bail at $15 million and said that if Bashara did post bond, he would be required to turn in his passport, his driver's license and be required to wear a tether.

Does anyone know what the difference is between a "tether" and a "GPS" device. The reports are saying "tether".

I haven't heard that expression and cannot seem to locate a description.

I don't really think the bond will be an issue for long anyway. I think he will be charged with soliciting Jane's murder as well and any previously set bond would be revoked.

PS: That's just my opinion. I don't have an inside source or anything like that! I think the intel LE has NOW courtesy of Bob himself will lead to charges in Janes murder as well. So we should all give Bob a big THANK YOU for that!

A tether is an electronic monitoring device.

I wish all criminals were as stupid as Bob. I hate that his kids have to go on with the knowledge that their father had a hand in taking their beloved mother from them. Disgusting.

During about a two week period this month, Bob Bashara solicited someone and paid this person to have Gentz, who has been charged in Jane Bashara's death, killed in the jail before a July court hearing, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced today. Bashara's bond was set at $15 million cash or surety. If bond is posted he must wear a tether and turn over his passport and driver's license. His preliminary examination is set for July 24.

The charge of solicitation to murder is a felony that carries up to life in prison.

"The evidence will show that Mr. Bashara wanted Mr. Gentz killed because he ... didn't want him to testify in any future proceedings, should there be any," Worthy said.

Though he's only facing one count of solicitation to murder, Worthy said investigators discovered that Bashara had also solicited a second person to have Gentz killed.

Most of the properties BB owns are not worth a lot of money. I doubt that all of his properties together total $15 million. And he owes substantial amounts on several of them, both mortgage and taxes. I really doubt that he will be able to post bond, or even enough for a bondsman.

I hope he has to stay put. He needs some quality time in the "thinking chair." Or the not-too-shiny throne.

Joe Gentz next court appearance is July 23, Bob Bashara preliminary examination (hearing) was set for July 24, I read somewhere that Bob waived the preliminary exam.

But, I think that it is interesting that his preliminary hearing was set a day after Gentz next court appearance.

Bob Bashara was arrested by Grosse Pointe Park police in the latest case Monday at his commercial rental property on Mack Avenue -- the same property where authorities said he had a sex dungeon in the basement.

Griem said he spoke to Bashara on Monday night, and he said his client was in disbelief.

"He was shocked, he was surprised, he didn't know why he had been arrested," Griem said, adding that before Bashara was transferred from Grosse Pointe Park police lockup to the Wayne County Jail, he said to Griem: " 'David, this is a setup.' "

Griem said Bashara believes the man who set him up is someone he knows, but not well. He said he thinks the man is someone who sold furniture and appliances to Bashara.

Griem said Bashara told him the man approached him with the idea of killing Gentz on several occasions, but Bashara turned him down.

During a jail visit Tuesday, Griem said Bashara told him his top concern was for his mother and children. And also, Griem said: he wanted a pizza.

wow!! all I can say is that Griem is either going senile or has stones the size of Texas! Imagine the unmitigated gall to ask for that!!

On the other hand ... I must admit if somehow the jury wasn't going to believe Joe's version because of his IQ... then I would have to say that Kim Worthy in waiting to charge has been well paid... Since Blob was so giving ... lmao his gift was the stupid idea to "off" his first hit man! Bashara allegedly told the man he wanted Gentz dead and he was willing to pay to see it done. Why? Sources tell the Defenders the answer became clear three days later.

Monday, June 11:

Gentz had a court hearing during which he was found competent to stand trial in the murder of Jane Bashara. However, it also was revealed Gentz may cut a deal, possibly testifying against someone else. It was no secret Bob Bashara was under the microscope for his wife's death. He has been investigated for possibly playing a role in Jane's murder.

Sources told the Defenders Bashara stepped up his alleged deadly demand when he told the mystery man he wanted Gentz dead and he offered him a $2,000 retainer fee for the mystery man to find an inmate who would kill Gentz while he is behind bars. Bashara allegedly wanted to prevent Gentz from testifying against him.

Sources say the mystery man was fully cooperating with police and federal agents in the Violent Gang Task Force. He was wearing a wire and recorded Bob Bashara's plan to pay money for murder.

Gentz was placed in protective custody within the jail.

Monday, June 25:

Police swooped in and arrested Bashara behind on of his Grosse Pointe Park rental properties, just steps away from the so-called sex dungeon.

The Local 4 Defenders have been told Bashara had hundreds of dollars in his pocket and he broke down in tears after his arrest."

DETROIT, MI — Robert Bashara didn't want his former handyman talking.

That's why Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy alleges Bashara paid at least one person, not a law enforcement officer, an undisclosed sum of money to kill Joseph Gentz behind bars, so he wouldn't have the opportunity to testify at a July 23 competency hearing.

"The investigation into Jane Bashara's death continues, obviously," Worthy said. "During the course of this investigation, however, we became aware that Mr. Bashara was allegedly looking for somebody to kill Mr. Gentz in the Wayne County Jail."

The plan never came to fruition.

Worthy would not confirm if Bashara remains a "person of interest" in his wife's death.

WXYZ) - Bob Bashara allegedly tried to hire a hit man at a furniture store in Detroit near the Grosse Pointe Park border. That's according to multiple Action News sources.

We reached out to the owner of the store Wednesday night. The owner said he was not ready to talk.

Police sources confirm to Action News they have audio and video recordings of the alleged deal. According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy Bashara met with more than one person during several meetings, the most recent of which taking place in June.

Bashara's attorney says the plot was a set up by police and that because prosecutors didn't have evidence to charge Bashara in Jane's murder, they staged this alleged hit deal.

DETROIT (WJBK) - It was at Steve's Furniture and Appliances in Detroit near the border of Grosse Pointe Park where Bob Bashara allegedly ordered a jail house hit on Joe Gentz, the man who claims he killed Jane Bashara and his former boss, Bob, hired him to do it.

"The evidence is going to show that he was set up," said David Griem.

Or was he? We've learned behind the store's walls Bob Bashara sought out the owner, Steve, to come up with a plan to kill Gentz in jail, but Steve went to the authorities. Sources say the two would meet a few times over a two week period this month. Steve would act as the middle man. Bashara would eventually pay him $2,000 to get the job done, someone behind bars to take Gentz out, but what Bashara did not know, he was being recorded.

Steve the owner told us off camera he isn't ready to comment. He pulled away not ready to talk about his role in this case.
