Now that Hinky Meter is closed, Reality Chatter can be a site for those who want justice for Jane to chat.

The Dateline interview was surprising in how many corners Bashara allowed himself to get painted into. What could he and his attorney possibly be thinking about to allow that trap?

Ditto stina's thanks, DanStar!! As for the Dateline debacle, there are no words. None. One thing I did note, however, was the number of anti-BB posters on Dateline's Facebook page. Right off the bat. People that had no clue. Had no other knowledge of this case. That was heartening-- that folks could see through him. Unlike that woman NBC put up on their Dateline site as a Bashara "friend." How much do you suppose Jane would trust that "friend" now??? Sickening!

OT for a second..I can't get my online status to disappear to matter what I do, anyone know of a different way to disable it?

Fysty has already given permission to start any thread you guys were following @ THM. We just would like you to post media coverage and not just your opinions or thoughts. Since the oldies here don't know this case, could someone post media info on here so we can understand and participate with you.

Sorry, you misunderstood what I meant. We need to see the articles from the newspapers so we can catch up on this case, since we know nothing about it. We welcome all your opinions and thoughts, we just want to know more about what the news and LE said about this case since it started in January.

I guess I had a senior moment, and did not make myself plain, and I apolize for that. As soon as we can read up on this case, we will be happy to discuss this case with all of you.

Glad to see so many familiar posters. I was a lurker who followed this case on THM. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this case.

I'm sorry I haven't had the time to read all of my PM's. I have been reading these threads though. I have heard/read lots about deleting threads and what can & can not be posted. Please take a moment to read RC rules. I honestly don't have many. A huge part of our site here is RESPECT...for everyone & their opinions.

With that said, for now...I will not be deleting any threads. I know it sometimes takes a little while to get used to a new site. IF I did decide to delete something...I always PM the person that posted it first.

A note though...I am only one of the two owners here. J4A has just as much power around here as I do. I promise....you'll all love him as much as the rest of us do. He' sthe best!

In his latest nationally televised interview, murder suspect Bob Bashara says he had an “understanding” with his wife similar to an open marriage that allowed him to see other women -- a claim at least one longtime friend of the deceased woman says is unlikely.

Bashara -- declared by police as a person of interest in the death of his wife, Jane -- touched on a number of topics in his interview with by “Dateline NBC” that aired May 11.

Among the items was his relationship with Rachel Gillett, a former Wayne State University employee who Bashara had a relationship with including dabbling in an underground kinky sex ring. Bashara said although his wife did not know of the S&M aspect, she was aware of his involvement with Gillett.

WXYZ’s crack news team caught up with Bob Bashara's now ex-mistress, Rachel Gillett. Bashara is a “person of interest” in the investigation into the murder of his wife, Jane Bashara.

Gillett recently filed a personal protection order against Bashara. She claims her ex-lover is stalking her and that she fears for her life.

So what did we learn from WXYZ’s latest report? For one thing, Gillett's neighbors are pretty much annoyed with the controversy. One neighbor might have one time heard Bashara trying to break into Gillett's home...with a key!

Everyone here is an important contributor.(The only reason I posted the blow-by-blow when a poster stated she was not able to watch but was able to peek at computer periodically. So I lent a hand. I actually was going to ask Val to delete my postings as they hogged up so much space.) If the poster had not asked, I would have stayed back. So everyone's voice is important. Pound away!

I really thought that an arrest would have be made in this case by now. I do think that Master Bob's attorney did not do him any favors in doing the interview. I don't feel like many people believed that he had nothing to do with Jane's death. The interview was kind of creepy to me. I am sure the only help the interview did for him was the money for Jane's picture that would go into his defense fund.
The interview made him look more of a liar because he say he only had relation with one other person, however they had another person that had sex with him on the interview. She stated she went to the police. They also brought up the women that lived in Washington (?) that gave an interview to the police.
Now I am assuming that the attorney know about the other women, so why would he let his client lie on TV?

Bashara's mother, Lorraine Engelbrecht, filed a report with the Roseville Police Department claiming she fears for her safety after receiving a phone call from her son-in-law Robert Bashara, who is a suspect in the Jan. 24 murder.

Englebrecht said she told Bashara to stop “dragging her daughter’s name through the mud,” possibly referring to statements he made in the Dateline interview suggesting that he and his wife had an open marriage or similar understanding.

The news stories posted are irking me. The refer to the blob as "the husband of Jane" and the "son-in-law" of Lorraine. Got news. When Jane died Blob was NO longer Jane's husband! Nor is he the "son-in-law" as those term apply ONLY to living persons!!! (Should read: former husband, former son-in-law. Ex- would indicate adversity such as divorce or annulment. Our vets who have honorable discharges are NEVER ex-Marines, etc.. They are former Marines. )

If I am not mistaken, there was a picture of him and Jane together. I believe that there was other pictures shown. These show don't pay for interviews, they pay to use pictures. However, I don't think this show showed him in a good light. I think it was a big mistake because even though he said his lifestyle did have any thing to do with Jane's murder. The show really made it look like a motive to murder.

There was several pictures of Jane, Bob etc during the show.

Sometimes shows pay for such things (as in Anthony case for example) .. Sometimes they don't. Until it's confirmed or reported that Dateline payed Bob or his lawyer for the interview, we don't know if that is the case and it's a speculation only.
