I have seen every bit of this trial---the first one as well as the penalty phase. NOTHING like this happened in the first penalty phase and I fail to see what any of this computer bruhaha has to do with MITIGATION. I am outraged and appalled that this is all allowed to come into this phase of the trial now.
I have read Deb Maran's blog re all of this, and it sure sounds like Travis was NOT viewing porn, but rather that VIRUSES WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE PORN SITES ON HIS COMPUTER, to put it as simply as possible. IF this is all going to be played out now in front of the jury who DID NOT HEAR THE INITIAL TRIAL, every detail of Jodi's stalking, breaking into T's phone, computer, bank acct., etc., than I sure wish Juan would get up and make it SHOW that the porn on the computer was not 'put there/accessed' by Travis. I REALLY seriously think he needs to expose the defense teams unethical shenanigans somehow, and I personally cannot see it happening now. I have not been able to glean enough from the tweets here, and hope I am wrong...

WHY isn't this phase confined to mitigation as it is supposed to be? The fact that Jodi has no one with the firm conviction to stand up for her in public speaks volumes. This jury is being derailed into a rabbit hole by JSS and the defense...

...As to the release of JA's "secret testimony", how anticlimactic! No big news there, and NO reason for it in the first place---Just another example of Jodi trying to manipulate everyone and call the shots, to make herself (and her few minions) think SHE is in control here. WE can all see it since we have all had a belly full of it during the initial trial, but I hope the jury sees what a lying, destructive, manipulative, dangerous beast she is.

This reminded me of something from yesterday. I enjoy reading your comments and reading from the links you have shared.
The above, however, is one of the best gems in this case in a long, long time!
I thot it was going to be dry reading but after the first page, it opened up beautifully!
I wonder if she had advice or counsel from other judges when she penned her response to the many motions filed by Nurmi.
I really hope, when this is over, Nurmi and Wilmott are sanctioned by the courts for filing frivolous motions.

There was another link provided above that had a two page document.
It made me laugh.
Apparently, JA and this Michael Alexander decided to try to sue for all kinds of silliness....

I haven't been able to follow this case as closely as I did during the guilt phase. I have always been curious about what/if any action the court took against Alyce LaViolette. I remember she was in trouble for something but it was all being kept under wraps. Was it ever revealed what she was in trouble for and what punishment she received?

Alyce is back to giving her little seminars. Recently, she gave a seminar an bashed the JA prosecution and trial.
Still pretends to stand behind abused WOMEN.
Never did she mention abused MEN during the brief and boring youtube vid.
IIRC, she was essentially discredited for overstating her opinion and not keeping her testimony professional.

Thanks, Freckles. I've read through most of the posts here to catch up. Just always wondered what happened to Alyce. Hopefully, she will not get any more "expert" witness gigs.

I am so hoping that Flores or Martinez writes a tell all. Could be awhile though, because I don't think that from a professional standpoint that either would be able to do so until after retiring or leaving their present position. I would bet that the undisclosed details of this case are mind-bending.

So. Thinking of court tomorrow...Have a few questions:

1. Do you believe Nurmi will continue to file motions?
a. If so, when will he file the next motion?
b. What will the motion content address?
c. Will the courts finally sanction him on frivolous motions?
d. Will he (again) try to appeal sanctions/court decisions?

2. When will this trial finally go to jury?

3. Any guesses on jury/judge's outcome?

4. Will JA FINALLY go to prison or will she ask to be continued in housing in the jail pending appeals?

JA will have to launch her appeals from prison or death row once she has been sentenced. The only reason that JA is still in Sheriff Joe's jail is because she remains an "unsentenced inmate".

I am still torn on which sentence I hope she gets. She certainly deserves the death penalty, however, if JA is sentenced to death she will be able to continue soaking the taxpayers of my state for years of endless appeals. Even worse, she might actually win an appeal. But, despite the cost, I would take pleasure in knowing that she would live in virtual isolation and not be able to create her own little prison "fan club" or have fun participating in Christmas caroling contests, etc.

On the other hand, if JA gets a life sentence, she will have a more comfortable existence which she clearly does not deserve. But on the bright side, JA will have to foot the bill for any appeals she wishes to make. Appeals are very expensive and I doubt her little fan club will be able to raise enough money to afford a decent attorney willing to represent her for appeal. If JA is unable to afford to keep filing appeals then TA's family will not be drug through years of automatic state funded appeals as would be the case if she is sentence to death. JA would pretty much just be stuck in prison with little hope of anything changing except growing old and wrinkled in prison.

Gosh, I wish she could receive a hybrid sentence. Life in prison (no state-paid appeals) to be served in isolation on death row. This is a sentence that would make JA absolutely miserable. Locked away in isolation, strict rules, and with no fanfare. JA would not have enough money to appeal and would have no chance of ever intermingling with other humans ever again. That would be a great sentence...too bad it doesn't exist because either of the two available sentencing options have a built-in benefit for JA...either free appeals (death) or social interaction (life). She deserves neither.

She just might surprise us like Judge Vonda Evans did in her closing (< eyeroll, can't think of a better way to say it, lol) before she sentenced BB to the max.

I think sadly it will be another hung jury or life, leaving specifics up to JSS. I just don't think this jury has heard enough and has a clear picture of the depth of Jodi's manipulation, planning, obsession, cruelty, deviousness, etc. I don't think they are getting enough info about how evil she truly is, especially with regard to making up wholesale lies trashing Travis in order to save her own skin. I think that was exactly the problem with the first jury; There were just a few misguided people who actually believed that MAYBE Travis had abused her and some of what she was saying MIGHT be true. Ignorant, yes, but the fact is that some of them just didn't listen to every word of that long, tedious trial...

Gosh, probably still in the same place...I sure hope not. I desperately hope for the outcome the Alexander family and Travis hope for and deserve. I just think this jury is going to let us down as well...

I really wish Juan would attack the validity of this so-called evidence. Evidence that JA knowingly attempted tampering with while in state custody!!! Evidence her own mother attempted to sell to a national rag/gossip to make money and THEY refused it because it was so fraudulent.

IMO, EVERYTHING she has EVER written is suspect.
IMO, every word she has uttered is questionable.

I do NOT care how Travis viewed other females or his relationships with them. He was not abusive. He was a normal, healthy male with hormones surging in his veins, looking for his "perfect" partner. Of course3 he is going to like or "Treat" one person differently than the next! Heck, as a kid, I loved my grandmas but was shy of my grandpas.... No one has the EXACT same relationships with all persons. You may even prefer some neighbors over others, some co-workers, etc... It does not mean you are being abusive, mean or unfair. It is just how the shoe fits for the moment....

Question:

IF Travis always kept his doors open, why did JA have to crawl thru the doggie door?

The morning she arrived to kill Travis: IF the front door was unlocked, why did she enter thru the garage door?

When she left, did she go out the front door or thru the garage?

Why did she need to turn off the alarm going from the laundry room into the garage if everything was kept unlocked?

And why did she have all those passwords to the alarm, the computer, the cell phones, etc?

When Deanna Reed arrived to feed Travis' dog, she used a KEY to unlock the front door... Why if everything was always so open to the main house (not the bedroom for it had a lock on the door)_?
