The indictment said a .38-caliber revolver was shipped and transported in interstate commerce with knowledge that it was stolen. John Dylan Adams was also charged with receiving and possessing the firearm through interstate commerce with the serial number removed, obliterated or altered.

He was charged with aiding and abetting Kilzer and giving Kilzer the gun after knowing it was illegal for Kilzer to own the gun.

The indictment said John Dylan Adams was an unlawful user of controlled substances or an addict...."

There are currently 4 men under arrest on various levels for their alleged roles in her kidnapping, torture, death, including potential evidence of a videotape. Unbearable for her family. Justice really needs to prevail in this ugly case.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TN (WSMV) - Officials at the Williamson County Sheriff Department have confirmed Sunday that Zachary Adams, one of two suspects in the Holly Bobo murder case, has been transferred to the Williamson County jail.

Decatur County District Attorney Matt Stowe said they made the request to transfer Adams from the Chester County jail on Saturday.

Stowe went on to say that Adams was too much of a burden on the jail staff, describing Adams as a high-risk inmate.

IIRC, he tried to threaten his brother and used written intimidation in a note telling his brother that if he opened his mouth he would find himself in a hole next to/like that where Holly was buried...

JACKSON, TN (WSMV) - The family of the latest man accused in the Holly Bobo murder said Wednesday there's no way he could have been involved because he has the mental capacity of a child.

Dylan Adams is the brother of Zach Adams, the key suspect in the murder. He is accused of throwing away evidence.

A family member said Dylan Adams has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, and the TBI is taking advantage of that.

..."He can't even tell time," Miller said. "He can read on a limited scale, but for him to go through a legal document and decide if it's appropriate for him to sign or not, no way."

John Dylan Adams charged with rape in Holly Bobo case

The younger brother of the man accused of kidnapping and killing Decatur County woman Holly Bobo has now been charged with rape, along with previous tampering with evidence charges.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that John Dylan Adams, 26, was indicted on the charges this morning by a special Decatur County Grand Jury. The news release said that on Sept. 17, "Adams admitted to TBI agents that he was involved in the forcible rape of Holly Bobo on April 13, 2011, at the address of 235 Adams Lane in Holladay, TN, in Decatur County."

Dylan Adams has been charged with two counts of rape, according to the indictment in the Decatur County Circuit Court.

Evidence-tampering, accessory charges dismissed for Dylan Adams, Mark Pearcy; Dylan Adams is still charged with rape.

Prosecutors announced Wednesday that they have dismissed evidence-tampering and accessory charges against two men in the Holly Bobo case, but said they reserve the right to refile those charges in the future.

One count of tampering with evidence against John Dylan Adams has been dismissed. The charge was filed last month after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Adams confessed to disposing of evidence. Adams, known as Dylan, is still charged in the Bobo case with two counts of rape, on which he was indicted Tuesday.

The other charges that have been dismissed are one count of evidence tampering and one count of accessory after the fact against Mark Lynn Pearcy, who the TBI accused of withholding a video that allegedly shows Bobo after she was kidnapped.

...Charges are still actively being prosecuted against suspects Zach Adams and Jason Autry in the Bobo case. Zach Adams, older brother of Dylan, and Autry are charged with the murder and kidnapping of Bobo, a 20-year-old nursing student who disappeared from her Decatur County home in April 2011.

...The news release said the decision to dismiss these charges is "based on a number of variables the state cannot discuss due to the ongoing investigation and active prosecution of those responsible for the murder of Holly Bobo."

Suspect has mind of a child?
Well, this is the very first I have heard of a child raping another person!
First I have heard of a child not being controlled by an adult in a terribly serious crime. Heck, with the mind of a child she should have been able to have offered him a puppy, a kitty, an ice cream in exchange for him being nice to her....

Bad for them to try to resort to this "mind of a child" when they have no facts but are trying to elicit pity....
or maybe it is attempting to lay a foundation to doubt his words should he provide state evidence....
a child simply would not know better, would not understand correctly, would be full of lies, right?

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — The family of two men charged in the Holly Bobo case want ribbons supporting her taken down, but lawyers say there’s nothing they can do about them.

...Miller also wants Judge Creed McGinley to take down reserved seating signs put up in the courtroom for the Bobo family.

But high-profile defense attorney Juni Ganguli told WREG the ribbons and the seating arrangements are legal, and each judge can make their own rules for the courtroom.

Lawsuit aims to restore immunity for man in Holly Bobo case

The man once protected by the TBI in exchange for information in the disappearance of Holly Bobo is planning to be in court next month to fight to keep his immunity.

Shayne Austin was initially given the immunity sometime in April but it was revoked after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said he was not truthful.

Holly Bobo suspect Dylan Adams moved to jail in Weakley County

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. - Dylan Adams, one of the suspects charged with raping west Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo, has been transported to a different jail.

According to ABC affiliate WBBJ-TV, Adams was moved from the Robertson County jail to Weakley County in west Tennessee.

The television station reported the move allows Adams to be closer to his attorney ahead of his Dec. 5 court appearance.

One of Jason Autry's defense attorneys in the Holly Bobo case has been suspended for 18 months by the Tennessee Supreme Court.

John Herbison was suspended Thursday after three complaints alleging misconduct, according to state documents.

...Herbison failed to communicate with two clients in 2011 and didn't file an appeal for a third, according to state documents. The complaint against Herbison was filed in February 2013.

DECATURVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Three men charged in the Holly Bobo murder case were in a Decatur County court on Wednesday for a status hearing, but a judge's frustration on the case became the focal point.

Wednesday was the first time all three suspects - Zach Adams, Jason Autry, both charged with Bobo's murder, and Dylan Adams, charged with raping Bobo - were in court on the same day, prompting an increase in security at the Decatur County Courthouse with more deputies at the courthouse and helicopters circling above.

Zach Adams, charged with Bobo's kidnapping and murder, acknowledged family members in the crowd, but remained quiet and serious. Autry, who faces the same charges, smiled and even laughed at the judge's joke.

Judge Creed McGinley isn't happy with the pace of Zach Adams and Autry's kidnapping and murder trial.

“I've run out of patience. This case is going to move,” said McGinley from the bench.

Suspects in Holly Bobo case to ask for change of venue

DECATUR, Tenn. - The attorneys for two men charged in the kidnapping and killing of Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo say they plan to file requests for a change of venue in the case, reports CBS affiliate WTVF.

During a hearing Wednesday in Decatur County, Zachary Adams, 29, who is charged with felony murder and aggravated kidnapping in the case, appeared first with his attorney. The state said they planned to try him before suspect Jason Autry, 39, who is charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and first degree felony murder, reports the station.

Attorneys for both Adams and Autry said Wednesday they will ask the judge for a change of venue once their trial dates are set.

According to the station, Judge C. Creed McKinley said he thought it would be "impossible" to find a fair and impartial jury in Decatur County due to the publicity and emotions surrounding the case.
Also during the hearing, Adams' attorney told the judge that she had received tons of discovery, but no physical evidence that linked her client to the murder or kidnapping of Bobo.

Judge McKinley scolded District Attorney Matt Stowe, saying all evidence needs to be given to the defense. McKinley said repeatedly that his patience has run out because the case has not moved forward, reports the station.

The judge also asked that the state let him know as soon as possible whether or not they plan to seek the death penalty. Adams' attorney said, in her experience, it could take from 12 to 18 months to prepare for trial, if the state seeks death, reports the station.

TBI suspends its Holly Bobo investigation

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is suspending its investigation into Holly Bobo’s death, which it says it’s doing at the request of District Attorney Matthew Stowe.

The special Shelby County prosecutor, who was appointed to help get a conviction, was pulled off the Holly Bobo case as well.

TBI also confirmed its severing ties with the 24th judicial district, which includes Decatur, Benton, Carroll, Hardin, and Henry counties.

...“Conflicts arose as how to proceed with the case. I filed a motion with the judge that Jennifer Nichols, the deputy DA, be removed as the DA pro tem in the matter, and that order was entered. The order was granted,” Weirich said.

TBI resumes role investigating Holly Bobo case

DECATURVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation resumed investigations Thursday in the five-county judicial district where the high-profile death of a 20-year-old nursing student is being prosecuted, a day after saying it was suspending activities there.

The TBI announced Wednesday it was suspending investigations in the 24th Judicial District as the result of a disagreement with District Attorney General Matt Stowe.

But Thursday night, the agency issued a release saying it was resuming work in the district and that Stowe has requested a special prosecutor to handle Holly Bobo's case.

DECATURVILLE, Tenn. — Attorneys for two men charged with kidnapping and murdering Holly Bobo are asking for those charges to be dismissed, citing lack of evidence.

WTVF-TV reports the motion by the attorneys for Zach Adams and Jason Autry states that they have yet to receive "dental records analysis and forensic studies" of a skull that law enforcement says is Bobo's.

"It would appear to me if they had a skull with a dental match they would have given that to us right away. It's a little suspicious why we don't have that forensic information," Autry's attorney Fletcher Long told the station.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –  Authorities say they have completed their analysis of more than 460 pieces of evidence in the case of a woman whose partial remains were found three years after her disappearance, possibly bringing defense attorneys a step closer to seeing how prosecutors have linked their clients to her.

...Prosecutors have not said whether they plan to seek the death penalty. Hearings scheduled for this month have been postponed to an undetermined future date.

Jennifer Lynn Thompson, Adams' attorney, says state prosecutors have not even told her who found Bobo's remains or where they were found.

"I do not understand what is happening," Thompson said. "I have never before been involved in a case where there is no information about why my client was charged."

In the motion to dismiss, Thompson and Fletcher Long, Autry's lawyer, asked the judge to force prosecutors to produce "all dental record analysis and forensic studies" performed on the skull.

Holly Bobo Case: Charges Filed Without Physical Evidence

Holly Bobo, a nursing student who disappeared four years ago when she was just 20 years old, has a family that wants answers. When her remains were found last September by a pair of hunters, three men were later arrested in connection with her murder, but despite nearly 500 pieces of evidence that just went through analysis, the state hasn’t linked the men to any of it. The wait has been hard on everyone.

Holly’s family members haven’t said much since the arrests were made, but released a statement on a Facebook page dedicated to bringing her home safely last March.

“In the recent days, it feels like everything has come against our hope and it seems that all our trust was shattered. We still have hope because of who our hope is in. Holly had that same hope and faith, because of Jesus Christ we will see her again. Jesus will provide us the strength and grace to see us through,” Holly Bobo’s family wrote.

Still no court date for Holly Bobo case

DECATURVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Nearly 500 pieces of evidence in the Holly Bobo case have been analyzed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, but there is still no word on when the legal case against the suspects in her death will move forward.

Jason Autry and Zach Adams face charges for allegedly kidnapping and killing Bobo. Zach Adams' brother, Dylan Adams, faces charges for rape.

So far, the state has yet to show any evidence they have against the three suspects, and their defense attorneys aren't happy about it.

A TBI spokesperson told Channel 4 that while some hair samples have been sent to the FBI for testing, the TBI has analyzed all of the evidence it has received and turned all of it over to the state prosecutor.

What remains unclear is when the defense will receive any of the evidence and analysis. It's up to state prosecutors to hand it over.

Judge Creed McGinley has made it clear he's frustrated with the hold up.

"I've run out of patience. This case is going to move," McGinley said from the bench last month.

But McGinley has yet to set another court date

DECATUR CO., Tenn. (WTVF/WHNT) — The Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Monday night that the remains found Sunday in the woods of Decatur County belong to Holly Bobo.

Sunday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called to Decatur County after human remains were found in the woods. Officials said two people out looking for ginseng discovered a human skull Sunday morning.

DNA tests confirmed the remains belong to Bobo.

"Then, TBI Director Mark Gwyn — who has said the Bobo investigation has been the most exhaustive and expensive in agency history — announced he was suspending all work on the case after District Attorney Matt Stowe accused TBI agents of misconduct.

Stowe took office Sept. 1 after defeating District Attorney Hansel McCadams, who had indicted Adams and Autry.

The dispute was only resolved after Stowe stepped down from the case and Jennifer Nichols, a Shelby County attorney who was Stowe's co-counsel on the case and who had worked with death-penalty cases, was appointed as a special prosecutor. She is the third prosecutor in the case, which Stowe said is unusual.

He said the fact that multiple prosecutors have been involved, plus the complex nature of the case, have contributed to the delays.

"We're talking about terabytes and terabytes of information," he said.

Wow. First I have seen of the map, the items recovered. This is more promising than I had thot. I am curious, however, what happened to the items in the backpack??? We normally don't carry empty back packs any more than we would carry an empty purse....

Hi Freckles,

I don't know the exact time the backpack was found, but it looks like it was exposed to the elements for quite a while. Since the items were found in a wooded area, it is very possible that the contains of the backpack were scattered by animals, or that the kidnapper(s), removed her wallet, Driver's License, or other forms of identification from the backpack, and threw it away.  

It isn't yet clear if a forensic team searched the area where the couple who was looking for Ginseng found her partial remains ( including her skull) to find more evidence, e.g., more bones, etc.. It is possible that her remains (or other type of evidence) were dispersed or scattered by scavengers around the area after her body was deposited there by her killer(s). The remains were found ten miles from Zachary Adam's house.  

Once the discovery is released to the defense, I'm sure we will get more information about what evidence the prosecution have collected against the suspects.

What a tragic end for this missing girl ...

Two men, Zachary Adams and Jason Autry, were arrested last spring and charged with murder and kidnapping in the case of Bobo, who was 20 when she disappeared from her house near Parsons, Tenn., in April 2011. In October, John Dylan Adams was charged with raping Bobo. All three men have pleaded not guilty.

No trial date has been set and the defendants' lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss the charges. The attorneys said they had not received any evidence linking their clients to the crime. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) spokesman Josh DeVine said Thursday that some hair samples have been sent to the FBI for testing, but the TBI has analyzed all the evidence it has received.

Shayne Austin, Suspect
Found dead 2/23/2015

A man that is allegedly tied to the kidnapping and murder of Holly Bobo has been found dead.

Shayne Austin, who has not been indicted and was originally offered immunity for his testimony in the case, apparently committed suicide out-of-state, according Luke Evans, Austin's attorney.

"Obviously a tragic loss for the Austin family and they are besides themselves with grief," said Evans.

"It's unfortunate the government came in and made allegations without basis. People had to live with those allegations ... under the cloud of those allegations."

Former District Attorney Hansel McCadams had allegedly pulled the offer of immunity from Austin that had been offered in March 2014.

Evans said Austin signed the immunity agreement on March 6, one week after the TBI announced the indictments against Zach Adams, the first man arrested in the case on the murder and kidnapping of Bobo.

Jason Autry was later indicted on the same charges. ...."

Keith and I ran the Amazing Race, got married, watched the Amazing Race on tv, shot the "Roll All Night" video, honeymooned, got our first puppy Duke, and enjoyed the holidays with Keith's family in Minnesota! Also, on a sad note, my cousin Holly Bobo was found. It was not the ending we hoped for, but at least we know where she is now...Heaven. She's been with me thru it all.
