Not at all.

That question is an indication that there is a split among the jurors.

Split among the jurors - and/or - split among the charge to convict on....

I've not had a good feeling about this all along - but especially after the closing arguments.

Hmmm ... the level on my "worry" barometer" is rising.

But I suppose this jury is still streaks ahead of the Pinella's jury whose only questions were about food, movies, etc.

I am so glad because I thought he was going to get away with this like Casey got away with murder. It didn't seem like they had as much as they had with Casey, so I am so glad that they were able to connect the dots. Thank goodness he will pay for his crime, it is just sad that another one had to die before charges were brought up against him.

Snowbird, one can't help but draw comparisons between the two cases and the verdict for this one highlights just how badly the other bunch got it wrong.

I suppose that when one considers that this jury's questions revolved around the case while the "other bunch" spent all their time deliberating on who the prime care giver was and what movies they could watch ... well its no surprise that one group got it right and the other group allowed a killer to walk free.

Oh well ... at least one killer will be behind bars tonight.

I am so glad of this guilty verdict . I really admire Jim Glasgow and his team. His statement that included the community was well said. If us trial watchers get so emotional and passionate about injustice, just imagine the community's feeling. I don't know why the defense can not just accept defeat graciously. They already are criticizing rulings that they claim are appealable issues. The lawyer Greenberg was telling Beth Karas Harry Smith's testimony was attorney cilent privilege. Judge White stated that because the defense called Smith it is "implied waiver" therefore, his testimony is not an appellate issue. As far as the hearsay, which the defense kept yakking about, that was already ruled upon. Now we will be hearing all the statements that weren't allowed in.

This jury did their job and even had evidence read back to them. It looked like they worked at coming to their decision. I wonder how well he is going to do in prison since he is ex LE. I hope he doesn't do very good.

What a glorious day this is!

The outcome of this trial has restored my faith in the jury system.

Kathleen's family can finally have some kind of closure, this is a bittersweet victory for them. I hope the healing process can start now.

Jury convicts US ex-cop of wife's murder

Drew Peterson, a swaggering former suburban Chicago policeman who generated a media storm after his much-younger fourth wife vanished in 2007, has been convicted of murdering his third wife in a case based mainly on second-hand hearsay statements from the two women.

Peterson, 58, sat stoically looking straight ahead and did not react as the verdict was read on Thursday. Several of his third wife's relatives gasped before hugging each other as they cried quietly in the courtroom.

Illinois has no death penalty, and Peterson now faces a maximum 60-year prison term when sentenced in Kathleen Savio's death on November 26.

The trial was the first of its kind in Illinois history, with prosecutors building their case largely on hearsay thanks to a new law, dubbed 'Drew's Law', tailored to Peterson's case.

That hearsay, prosecutors had said, would let his third and fourth wives 'speak from their graves' through family and friends to convict Peterson.
