Drew Peterson Trial Discussion

As many of you know, the Drew Peterson trial should be soon. To my knowledge, a trial date has not been set yet.

InSession - TRU-TV has indicated they are interested in providing a Live Stream and covering the trial on Tru-Tv if the Judge will allow cameras in the court room.

The State of Illinois is now allowing cameras in the Court Room in certain counties. It also depends if the judge of a trial will allow cameras in his court room.

This thread is set up so that you may post any articles about Drew Peterson and discuss Drew.

There is a thread for Stacy Peterson. Articles regarding Stacy should be posted on her thread.

I know there were several Hinksters hoping Valhall would cover the Drew Peterson trial.

Producers didn’t bother waiting until after Drew Peterson’s much-anticipated trial to turn the tale of his dead and missing wives into a made-for-TV movie.

But as Illinois continues its experiment with cameras in its criminal courtrooms, crime buffs shouldn’t expect to watch the real thing from the comfort of their own living rooms. Will County’s top judge said cameras likely won’t be allowed into the former Bolingbrook police officer’s trial.

I am a follower of this case, as far back as the "old" Greta Van Susteren days.

So sorry to hear that it won't be available to watch. Drew is such a total "piece of work", I would like to see his face when he finally faces justice for his actions.

Thanks for setting up this thread. So sorry as well to hear it will not be televised. This guy needs to face the music and spend the rest of his sorry life in prison.

CA Lady, I too am disappointed that IN SESSION isnt going to be covering this, I had hoped they would but apprently no cameras.

imo, Big Daddy/Drew is guilty of 2 murders, but the analyst have talked about the lack of evidence. IF the conversations of former wives weren't allowed in, the State might be sunk. Credibility issues with some such as the brother in law & the blue barrel, I am worried about a conviction, it would be terrible if the scumbag walked on these murders.

tess, I have found Big Daddy to be one of the most offensive scumbags that murdered imo, all that pandering to the media & arrogance. I too hope he spends the rest of his miserable life in prison.

A hearing is underway to discuss scheduling and to hear arguments on several motions filed by the defense. Those motions include:

Drew Peterson is set to go on trial — again.

The former Bolingbrook police sergeant was first scheduled to go on trial for murder in 2010, but a last-minute appeal by prosecutors in the highly publicized case triggered two years of delays. During that time, the original presiding judge retired, and a Lifetime movie starring Rob Lowe as Peterson aired on television.

The one-time policeman of the year, told a reporter at the Chicago Sun Times: 'I’m sick of being called sinister.'

Instead he insisted he was a romantic and his disastrous track record with women was not his fault - it was because he picked 'women who changed after getting married.'

The ex-cop was brought to national attention when his fourth wife Stacy Peterson disappeared in October 2007.

He was suspected of killing her and disposing of her body, which has never been found.

This is a slippery schmoozer bully kind of guy according to a few of the gals who used to tend bars in and around his stomping grounds. He's got a bit of Svengali going on and exercises it at every opportunity, or tries to anyhow. The Savios have had to work really hard to get their story heard and it's going to be hard to keep all mention of Stacey out of it. It was Stacey's unexplained disappearance that finally focused attention on Drew.

Drew Peterson, the former Bolingbrook police sergeant accused of killing his third wife, is back in court Wednesday for a pretrial hearing as lawyers prepare for his July 23 murder trial.

Peterson — who’s charged in the 2004 drowning death of his third wife, 40-year-old Kathleen Savio — has also been identified as a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, who has been missing since 2007.

It was Stacy Peterson’s’s disappearance that prompted investigators to go back and review Savio’s death, which had been ruled accidental after Savio was found dead in a dry bathtub.

Does anyone know who has custody of Stacy Peterson's kids? Before he was arrested I believe Drew Peterson had custody, but are they now with Stacy's family?

Summer, IIRC, Illinois is just starting to allow cameras in the courtroom and the judge was going to decide if he would allow it, or if the courtroom could be ready for it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Drew Peterson’s judge on Thursday said he will order the divorce attorney for Peterson’s late third wife to testify about a conversation Kathleen Savio allegedly had with a prosecutor before she died when Peterson stands trial for murder next month.

Judge Edward Burmila met privately last week with attorney Harry Smith to discuss conversations Smith had with Savio before she died and to determine which of those conversations should be allowed as evidence at Peterson’s trial.

I believe there will be voices for Stacy. They may not be talking until a separate case gets brought. I'm happy that they're making sure there can be a chance to examine this guy's pattern again if they need to.

my throat is still constricted after reading Kathleen's letter. DP is the poster-child of what's wrong with the system. Too many blood-stained hands out there to name. Predictably the trial will be a circus event -- guided by the Maestro himself.

last week I googled something like ...drew peterson trial televised....

and I found info about cameras being allowed in the courtroom....but that the judge gets to decide...and he hasn't decided one way or the other yet. Now - I can't find that info again.

Of course I want it to be televised....but can someone post here when that info is available??

summer, InSession has repeatedly stated they will cover the Drew Peterson trial. It does not mean they will Live Stream.

If cameras are not allowed in the Court Room, I would think you can expect the kind of media coverage comparable to the Jerry Sandusky trial.

thank you for your quick answers. I ask the same question over and over because......I need it to be on CNN live, or I will wither on the vine

and another thing....the longer it rains and pours - the dumber I get !!...and I am not kidding..

summerthyme, I am so disappointed this isn't televised but Beth does a good job for IN Session on her reports.

I remain worried about the State having enough evidence, if they didn't have the "hearsay evidence" that has been admitted, there wouldn't be much. Thank God most of it is in, imo, it's so powerful, no one can say it better than a victim themselves.

Sadly too in Susan Powell's case, she too wrote a letter found in a safety deposit box stating her "fear of Josh & that he might possibly kill her." It seems another victim voiced her opinion before her murder.

Yeah, I worry about this case too. :/ I really hope they have more than we know but right now, it looks like the Kaufman case in Florida (except I think Peterson is guilty whereas with Kaufman I was leaning towards not guilty).
