Jodi Arias -- Trial for the murder of Travis Alexander #7

So when do you all think this will be over? I was hoping for before Easter, but ahhh...I don't know. THANK GOD for all intents and purposes we're mostly done with 'marathon Nurmi' and his slo mo performances! I would think the defense may finish today, don't you all? I mean IF we don't have more delays than actual court time, lol!
Juan is not slow and nit picky; he will cross those defense abuse witnesses short and sweet on the meaningful points, IMO.
IF (please, please, please) the defense rests by the end of today, Juan would probably start his rebuttal case next Monday!!!!! I am guessing one day, but maybe 2???
Again, I think he would have a progression of meaningful witnesses one after another for a very short time each. He wants to make really clear points blasting her and her tales out of the water. The really detailed and personal stuff from him I would bet he is saving for closing argument.
I am hoping we are DONE with closings by the end of next week!!!
My biggest fear is that the judge will call off court for a week for the holiday or something and delay the closings! IMO just something she would do!

Next THURS. is the 22nd. IF the trial could be wrapped up by then, maybe we POSSIBLY COULD SEE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE JURY ON MONDAY, THE 26th!
There then COULD be a verdict before Easter, but I think that is if everything goes and flows smoothly between now and then---and with this trial, that's a tall order.

I'll tell you one thing; I would REALLY like to see that happen and for a verdict before Good Friday. I would REALLY like to see this be over for the Alexander family, and for them to at least have a peaceful Easter remembering Travis.

JANINE DRIVER, HUMAN LIE DETECTOR: He was on fire! I loved it! Being in the courtroom, I have to tell you, it swayed me. And I`m going to tell you why. He`s a short little guy. I don`t know if you know this at home, but Juan Martinez, he would drown in a turtle pool with waves. I wanted to put him over my head and say, you`re so cute, Juan Martinez, because he`s shorter, this is why it matters, this is why the jury likes him.

I get it. He`s short and so short takes away some of the power. It balances out his aggressiveness. So, he`s really aggressive with his questions, and he`s hammering her, but we have this like David and Goliath thing from Nurmi, who`s gigantic, and this little teeny, Juan Martinez. It works, he was hot, he was direct.

He didn`t let her wiggle out of it. They kept being objections over here by the defense like object or already answer. The judge let it come in. He made sure she answered it, because she was tap dancing around it. He was on fire. Love it

so the hair they found in the hallway was JA's and it had TA's DNA on it... He probably pulled out her hair with his bloody hand trying to defend himself... One thing I read but didn't see in this video is that the blood spray on the sink had saliva in it... I never heard her say that, did i miss something?

I guess it's padded to project, not that it will.. Better to be safe then sorry like the CA jury rushing to get out and have their vacations... They get to go home everyday and they're not there a full week so I think they have plenty of time to take it in to themselves then so go on as a group. I think KN slow method is what's bringing this down...

I'm hoping they're at least interesting and not an insult to what they're representing... BPS and PTSD...

I don't think Jodi realizes that all of the evidence will be available to jury during deliberations.

I am still keeping hope that it will NOT go on until mid April. I really think there is at least a chance it could be all done by Easter, or a day or few later...

watching day 3... JA is looking at the autopsy photos like a rabid animal... Her partly open mouth and crazy eyes... she is such a freak..

thanks for the info. My Gdaughter is 1 in two days, but has more energy and ways to get into mischief than I remember my perfect children having.

Here's a thought. Jodi's attorneys were originally public defenders. Nurmi at one pointed wanted out. Judge said no, but agreed to compensate him $225. pr. hour, more than he would have made,---presumably at taxpayer expense (?? How's that for a kick in the head!). So who the heck is paying for the "experts"? Well, I would guess the state is, in the form of you guessed it, taxpayer money!
THE FACT REMAINS THAT THIS IS NOT A CLIENT WITH A PERSONALLY FUNDED HIGH POWER ATTORNEY, (duh) and I do think that there is limit on what the court mandated defense can spend on their experts, so IMO these experts will NOT be on the stand for days and days. Here's another point too; How often did these 'experts' actually see Jodi? How much actual time did she spend with them? I got the distinct impression it was not long---a minimal amount of interview time. I mean, it's not like Jodi was in treatment or under the continual care of these people. They are not only going to testify about what they believe, but they surely will be asked how much time they actually spent with Jodi. I just can't see them up on the stand for a week! I could be wrong, but common sense leads me to believe otherwise.
(you can bet Nurmi is not so enamored of his client or so believing in her innocence, or altruistic enough to pay for them out of his own pocket!)

I still think that Nurmi could wrap up his case late today or on Monday. If he does drag this out at this point I think he is really going to alienate this jury. Remember folks, our man Juan achieved in several hours what Nurmi couldn't do in 16 days or more!!!

Defense attorney Kirk Nurmi asked Arias, “What about the rope he had tied you up with. Did you take that with you?”

Nurmi asked, “And do you remember what you did with that?”

Nurmi asked, “Where?”

“It was behind a gas station...I think it was somewhere after St. George. I don’t remember. It was getting light out. Wherever I was parked at that point,” replied Arias.

Arias said she doesn’t know what happened to the knife, but she did admit to disposing of the gun in the desert."

IIRC, none of the knives in the block set were missing, and none of them matched Travis' wounds - none of the 29.

So wouldn't that HAVE TO PROVE that JA brought a knife with her.....PERIOD????

What am I missing?
