Search continues five days into Kelly Dwyer’s disappearance (Video)

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The search continues for 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer, who has been missing since Friday. On the fifth day since her disappearance, loved ones continued to look to clues as to Dwyer’s whereabouts.

Flyers have been distributed throughout Milwaukee since Dwyer disappeared.

Dwyer went out to the bars on Thursday night, and stayed at a friend’s house on the East Side that night. She reportedly left her friend’s place around 9:00 a.m., and that was the last time anyone saw her.

“Whatever the outcome is, I just need to find her and find out where she is,” Dwyer’s mother, Maureen told FOX6 News.

Milwaukee police haven’t said whether foul play is involved in this case, but Dwyer’s mother believes that is the case.

MILWAUKEE-The family of Kelly Dwyer tells CBS 58 News that police are focusing part of their investigation on Allium Restaurant and Bar on Prospect Avenue.

The family says Dwyer was there Thursday night and they are hopeful surveillance video might show her movements.

For the past few days friends and family have been putting up fliers all over Brady Street and the Third Ward.

Dwyer is 27 years old and had recently been on an online dating website. Her mother worries that might have a connection to her disappearance.

MILWAUKEE —Friends and family are uniting to find a missing Milwaukee woman.

Kelly Dwyer, 27, hasn't been seen since Friday morning in the Brady Street area.

"On the way here yesterday I couldn't stop crying," Kelly's mother, Maureen Dwyer, said.

Dwyer said she feels helpless even as friends and family come forward to help. It's because all they can do is get the word out and hope.

"We have not heard from Kelly since Friday morning. That was the last time she used her phone. She's very attached to her phone, like any young person is nowadays. It's always beside her. She's always on it," Dwyer said.

Kelly's co-workers at Lululemon in the Historic Third Ward alerted Maureen on Saturday when Kelly didn't show up for work, which is something Kelly's boss and her mom agreed is unlike her.

Dwyer's roommate, Myles Kuban, told WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino that he last saw her Thursday evening before she went out for the night.

He said nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"She's definitely one of the most peppy and happy people you come across. She was always saying, 'Oh, hi. How are you?'" Kuban said.

MILWAUKEE —Milwaukee police are searching for a 27-year-old woman who has been missing since Friday.

Officers said Kelly Dwyer was last seen on Farwell Avenue

Dwyer's mother told 12 News Dwyer works at Lululemon on Water Street. She said it's unlike her daughter to skip work or disappear without telling anyone.

On Sunday, family and friends put up posters near Dwyer's home at Brady Street and Humboldt Avenue.

Police said they do not suspect foul play at the moment.

MILWAUKEE - Kelly’s mom is just trying to get through each day without her daughter, and remain as optimistic as she can.

Maureen Dwyer is hoping police can find some clues about Kelly’s disappearance. She turned over Kelly’s laptop Tuesday afternoon. She tells TODAY’S TMJ4 right now, she spends her days alternating between crying and trying to be strong.

“I’m trying to survive every minute of every day,” explains mom Maureen Dwyer. “It’s like dying. That’s what it’s like.”

Local tracking expert has theories on Kelly Dwyer case (Video)

Christopher Schwartz and his organization, Operation Locate our Children, plan to assist in the search for 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer, who has been missing since Friday, October 11.

Schwartz started his organization in response to the Alexis Patterson case in 2002, and has been helping search for missing persons ever since.  "Hundreds, if not thousands of cases," Schwartz said.

I wanted to know what he thought of the search for Kelly Dwyer, and he told us he was concerned that there seemed to be no sign of her after Friday morning.  "It's a needle in a haystack right now.  We just don't have a lot to go on," Schwartz said.

Dwyer's family and friends have told CBS58 that she was out at bars on the east side on Thursday night, October 10.  And that she may have spent the night with a male friend.  Schwartz says if more information were made public, it would help in the search for Dwyer.   "We don't know what she was wearing... I'd like to confirm that she was at the boyfriend's yes or no?  I really wanna just know the last place she was," Schwartz said.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police have confirmed their investigation into disappearance of 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer has led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man on unrelated drug charges.

Dwyer's family and friends have told CBS58 that she was out at bars on the east side on Thursday night, October 10. They also say Kelly left her boyfriends home and either walked or took a taxi to her place near Brady and Humboldt.

Kelly Dwyer, 27, was reported missing Saturday when she didn't show up for her job in the Third Ward.

Milwaukee police are questioning a man her family said was Dwyer's boyfriend and was the person she was last seen with a week ago. No one has heard from her since.

DA reviews case of man who may be connected to Kelly Dwyer

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is now reviewing the case of drug charges against a 38-year-old man police say were brought to light during the investigation of missing woman Kelly Dwyer.

Milwaukee police have confirmed they have a man in custody for drugs they discovered during the course of the Dwyer investigation. Meanwhile, friends and family continue to search for 27-year-old Dwyer who has been missing since Friday, October 11th.

An unconfirmed report says Milwaukee Police may search for the woman at an area landfill, however when asked about this a police spokesman said, “there’s been no determination as to a search of any landfill.”

According to a family member, police are looking at surveillance video from an apartment building on Lafayette and Prospect however authorities did not confirm that.

Arrest made during investigation of missing Milwaukee woman (Video)

MILWAUKEE-Thursday morning police arrested a male friend of missing Milwaukee woman on an unrelated drug charge.

Police charged the 38-year-old man with keeper of a drug house. Detectives cars were parked outside his east side high-rise on North Prospect Avenue. Residence say police have been in and out of the complex for the last three days.

"I knew something was happening through conversations with my neighbors," said Betty Satie. "We sort of connected that it had to do with the missing girl."

TODAY'S TMJ4 obtained an email property managers sent to residents at Lafayette Towers explaining the high rise was one of last places Dwyer had been before her reported disappearance.

A source close to the investigation says surveillance video shows the 27-year-old entering the building but no video of her leaving.

Dwyer was seen last Thursday night at Allium Restaurant and Bar on Prospect Avenue with her 38-year-old boyfriend, according to police sources, her family and the restaurant owner.

WISN 12 News learned he is under arrest. Police are holding him on a drug-related charge, but are still questioning him.

Police searched the man's apartment at the Park Lafayette on Tuesday, across the street from the restaurant where the couple was last seen together.

Community activist Christopher Schwartz often gets involved in searching for missing persons and planned to post 1,000 flyers Thursday in the Brady Street area and do a grid search of the area with volunteers. But Schwartz said his police sources told him that wasn't needed.

"I am still going to put those out, but I have a feeling that this investigation -- missing persons -- is heading in a different direction right now," Schwartz said.

Court appearance for man arrested in connection with Kelly Dwyer (Video)

MILWAUKEE (WITI) – 38-year-old Kris Zocco, the man arrested in connection with missing woman Kelly Dwyer, is facing five different drug-related counts. Zocco made his initial appearance before a judge on Sunday morning, October 20th.

Zocco was taken into custody on unrelated drug charges Thursday, October 17th. The charges came to light during the investigation into Dwyer’s whereabouts.

According to the complaint, police questioned Zocco at his apartment on October 14th regarding Dwyers disappearance. During that time, police discovered drugs inside his residence.

According to the criminal complaint, Dwyer was last seen on October 10th at Zocco’s apartment. During an interview with police, Zocco stated that he was friends with Dwyer and that she would come over to his apartment a few times a week to “do lines.”

Boyfriend of missing woman charged with several drug counts

The boyfriend of a woman missing for more than a week was charged Sunday with several drug charges.

Kris Zocco, 38, of Milwaukee was arrested Thursday when officers investigating the disappearance of his girlfriend, Kelly Dwyer, discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia in his home in the 2000 block of N. Prospect Ave.

Zocco was charged with keeping a drug house, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of narcotics, all felonies, according to Wisconsin court records. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 28.

Dwyer, 27, was last seen on Oct. 11 after spending the night at her boyfriend's house. Her family reported her missing on Oct. 12 when she didn't show up for work at Lululemon in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE - Police believe Kris Zocco is one of the last people who saw Kelly before she disappeared.   He appeared in court Sunday - charged with keeping a drug house - and having large amounts of marijuana and cocaine in his apartment.

Zocco got out of jail Monday morning.  His attorney talked to us.

“He’s upset that he’s in the situation he’s in, clearly,” shares his attorney Michael Levine. “He’s being identified, essentially, as a drug dealer, which he adamantly denies.”

Zocco told police Kelly went to his apartment a couple of times a week to snort cocaine.  And he admitted they did it together the night she vanished.

A missing Milwaukee woman's boyfriend — a local business executive who, police say, admitted snorting cocaine with the woman just before she disappeared — has posted bail on drug charges, as the search for the woman continues.

Kris Zocco, 38, of Milwaukee posted his $5,000 bail and was released, according to online jail records. Zocco was charged Sunday with keeping a drug house, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of narcotics.

He came to the attention of Milwaukee police during the investigation into the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer, 27, who was reported missing Oct. 12 after she missed her shift at Lululemon in Milwaukee.

A poster with information about Dwyer states that she was last seen about 9 a.m. Oct. 11 and her phone was last used an hour later.

Zocco, who has not been charged in Dwyer's disappearance, is vice president and chief information officer for Milwaukee-based TRC Global Solutions, according to the website of the relocation services firm. The website says he has more than 15 years of IT experience and previously worked as IT director for the New York Yankees.

Milwaukee police again arrested the boyfriend of missing woman Kelly Dwyer, this time on charges of possession of child pornography.

Kris Zocco, 38, was charged Friday with 17 counts of possessing child pornography. He already was facing charges of keeping a drug house, narcotics possession and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Milwaukee police arrested Zocco in Richfield on Thursday night. According to the criminal complaint, when police searched Zocco's N. Prospect Ave. apartment, they found discs of suspected child pornography.

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- 38-year-old Kris Zocco, the boyfriend of the missing Kelly Dwyer, is back in police custody. He's being charged with 17 counts of possession of child pornography.

Earlier this month, Milwaukee police executed a search warrant on Zocco's apartment while investigating the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer. Police found several CDs and an external hard drive inside a cardboard box on the floor of Zocco's apartment.

Investigators conducted a preliminary search of these electronic items, and uncovered several videos containing child pornography. That's when police got another search warrant and returned to Zocco's apartment on October 24th.

October 25, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The father of a Chicago woman who's been missing for two weeks is pleading for her safe return. Kelly Dwyer, 27, has been living in Milwaukee.

The night Kelly Dwyer disappeared, her boyfriend told Milwaukee police they went to dinner at a restaurant across the street from his apartment, then went to purchase cocaine. He then told police she left his apartment the next morning and she was fine.

MILWAUKEE - Nearly two weeks since 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer disappeared without a trace, her father describes her as health conscious. The email she uses is "organic guru". She's happy and he's desperate to see his daughter's smile again.

At this point, Tony Dwyer's will to know what happened to his daughter is the only thing that gets him up in the morning.

We asked him what he would say to Kelly if he saw her right now.

"I would say 'Come home baby. I miss you. I know you're out there and we're gonna find you,'" said Tony Dwyer.

Kelly Dwyer, 27, grew up in Lincolnshire and graduated from Stevenson High School, but the investigation into her disappearance is focused in Milwaukee, where she lives now.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer has been missing for two weeks and the man believed to have last seen her appeared in court Saturday morning, October 26th on new charges unrelated to the case.

38-year-old Kris Zocco has been charged with 17 counts of child pornography. A criminal complaint says the man had sex videos of children as young as two and three years old. The state recommended bail be set between $500,000 and $750,000.

“This defendant is a very key suspect in the missing person and probably homicide investigation so I think also poses some significant flight risk,” said Assistant D.A. Danielle Chojnacki.

Police search landfill in missing Milwaukee woman case

Police searched a landfill in Menomonee Falls Saturday for evidence related to the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer, a Milwaukee woman who went missing two weeks ago, according to a press release from Milwaukee police.

Because the investigation is ongoing, police aren't sharing additional details at this time, spokesman Mark Stanmeyer said in an email.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A search team will be back out at a Menomonee Falls landfill on Monday, October 28th – hoping to find clues related to the disappearance of 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer.

Dwyer has been missing since October 10th. She was last seen eating at an East Side restaurant.

Authorities believe 38-year-old Kris Zocco is the last person to see Dwyer, possibly on October 11th. Zocco was charged with five drug-related crimes last weekend, but posted bail on Monday, October 21st.

MILWAUKEE —The last person to see a missing Milwaukee woman alive appeared in court Monday for his preliminary hearing on drug charges.

Police also arrested Zocco last week on 17 counts of possessing child pornography.

His attorney told WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino that he hasn't had a chance to look over that complaint but will do so this week.

Levine had no comment to any questions in relation to the Dwyer case.

Zocco was still in jail Monday night but had posted a $25,000 cash bail and will be turned over for 24-hour electronic monitoring.

There are now 17 billboards up across the state showing Dwyer's picture.

Milwaukee investigators continue search for Kelly Dwyer

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Police investigators will spend a fourth day combing through a landfill to look for evidence involving the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer.

The 27-year-old Dwyer disappeared October 10th.

Media reports said her boyfriend was the last to see her before she vanished. 38-year-old Kris Zocco has since been arrested twice on what authorities said were unrelated charges.

Monday, Zocco pleaded not guilty to five drug-related charges. His lawyer tried but failed to drop two felony counts of maintaining a drug house, and possessing marijuana with the intent to sell it. Zocco is also charged with possessing narcotics, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

All sides in the case will meet November 19th, when a trial date could be set.

Meanwhile, Zocco is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday on 17 child pornography charges resulting from his second recent arrest late last week.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer has been missing for nearly 20 days, and on Tuesday, October 29th, the man who was one of the last to see Dwyer before her disappearance appeared in court.

On Monday night, October 28th, Zocco posted a $25,000 bail in the child pornography case. However, Zocco wasn’t released at that time, as he awaited a GPS monitoring device to be installed.

The District Attorney’s Office says no GPS devices were available via the Justice Point electronic monitoring program — so Zocco’s attorneys argued Tuesday for a change to the original bail conditions.

Zocco’s bail was increased on Tuesday – to $75,000 — and the GPS requirement was lifted.

Zocco was forced to surrender his passport as a condition of bail. He has not posted the $75,000 bail, and remains in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail.

MILWAUKEE - Detectives from Milwaukee Police will resume their search of a Menomonee Falls landfill for a fifth day on Wednesday.

While detectives head back to the landfill, the man who police believe was the last person to see her is in court Wednesday.

Kris Zocco is answering to 17 counts of child pornography. He was also recently arrested on numerous drug charges.

Zocco's bail was recently set at $75,000 for the child pornography charges and $5,000 bond for the drug charges. In court on Wednesday, his bail for the child porn charges was raised to $250,000.

MILWAUKEE-Police say the rain in the forecast Thursday will delay the search of a Menomonee Falls landfill in the search for evidence in the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer.

They have been searching the landfill for days and so far, report nothing new.

They zeroed in on the landfill because that's where the garbage goes from the apartment building where Dwyer was last seen.

Meantime, the man she was last seen with, Kris Zocco had his bailed increased to $250,000 on separate drug and child porn charges.

Zocco has not been charged in the Dwyer case.

MILWAUKEE - Kris Zocco, the man last seen with 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer before she went missing, was reportedly released from jail Wednesday morning, after posting bail.

He was released at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Zocco was being held on $250,000 for drug and child pornography charges. The 38-year-old has not been charged in relation to Dwyer's disappearance.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department reports they've recovered potential items of evidence during their search of the Menomonee Falls landfill. Police have been searching the landfill for any leads on the disappearance of 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer.

Milwaukee police recently ended their search of the Menomonee Falls landfill.

Dwyer has been missing since October 10th, and was last seen on Milwaukee's east side. The last person to see her is Kris Zocco, who is currently facing drug and possession of child pornography charges. Both were found in his apartment while investigators searched for evidence in the disappearance of Kelly Dwyer.

A month later, Kelly is still missing. Efforts to locate her continue, while her family and friends worry and her parents’ nightmare increases daily.

As the search continues, this young woman from Chicago who was last seen in Milwaukee risks becoming a statistic. Those statistics are frightening.

According to Crime Library, 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day. This figure includes adults and children. Six times as many people are reported missing now than were reported 25 years ago.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The man who may have been the last person to see a missing Milwaukee woman made a court appearance on Tuesday, November 19th. Kris Zocco had a hearing on Tuesday in his drug case.

Dwyer was reportedly last seen eating at an East Side restaurant on October 10th. Zocco has told Dwyer’s mother he last saw her leaving his East Side apartment on the morning of October 11th.

Over 20 surveillance cameras near the East Side apartment building have been unable to provide answers.

“I’ve been to the building. I’ve talked to security there. They got a multitude of surveillance tapes. There’s nothing to show her either leaving alive, leaving dead or leaving any other way. They don’t see it on any cameras. It’s hard. Obviously if he had something to do with it you want to rip him apart — but you don’t know. If he has and they find out, he gets what’s coming to him. In this country, you’re innocent until proven guilty, but it doesn’t look good for his home team,” Dwyer’s uncle, John Van Laur has said.

Van Laur says with the holidays approaching, Dwyer’s family is coming to terms with the fact that Dwyer will not be with her family.

“It’d be a miracle. It’d be a miracle if Kelly’s chair was filled, but miracles do happen. If it’s not filled, we’ll all be grateful she was there for 27 years, and we’re grateful she was a great kid,” Van Laur said.

Judge rules Kris Zocco can use computer for work purposes

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — FOX6 News has learned a judge has ruled Kris Zocco can use his computer for work purposes.

Because he is facing child pornography charges, he was ordered not to use a computer, but his employer asked the judge for special permission so Zocco can work from home.

Zocco is the man who may have been the last person to see a missing Milwaukee woman — 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer.

Zocco has been a free man since November 6th, when he posted $250,000 bail — one day after a judge ordered his bail to remain at $250K, after Zocco’s attorney tried to get his bail reduced.

Newly unsealed documents shed light on Kelly Dwyer case (Video)

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County recently unsealed the affidavit for the search warrant that led to the search of Kris Zocco's apartment on Milwaukee's east side. The affidavit detailed how Kris Zocco, the last person to see Kelly Dwyer, claims his last night with her went.

Police dog detects odor of human remains at Zocco's apartment building

Milwaukee police called in a K-9 from the Madison Police Department called K-9 Molly. K-9 Molly is trained in detecting the odor of decomposed human remains. Police searched Zocco's apartment building for traces of decomposed human remains.

K-9 Molly detected the odor of human remains in the first floor trash room. The trash room in Zocco's apartment building is a locked area where trash placed in trash chutes is collected in green dumpsters. K-9 Molly indicted the odor came from next to one of the green dumpsters. K-9 Molly also found the odor of human remains on a shovel in the southeast corner of the trash room.

K-9 Molly also discovered the scent of human remains in the apartment building's parking structure at parking stall 213, Zocco's parking stall is eight spaces away.

Police brought K-9 Molly to the same floor Zocco resided. K-9 Molly detected the scent of human remains on the exterior of Zocco's apartment door. She also smelled the odor of human remains on the floor's trash chute.

Just-released documents offer new info. in Dwyer disappearance (Video)

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 80 pages of new documents were released on Tuesday, January 21st in the case of Kelly Dwyer, the Milwaukee woman missing since October. The new documents share even more details about police searches — even after search warrants were released on Monday.

So far, five search warrants have been unsealed in this case.

The new documents obtained by FOX6 News show a search of Zocco’s 2011 Audi found three pieces of hair — two in the trunk, and one inside an air freshener. Tissues and wipes, in addition to a Lululemon bag that presumably was from the store where Dwyer worked were also found. Police also requested a search of Zocco’s phone — as well as a DNA sample from Zocco, which he voluntarily gave to police.

A separate search warrant in this case was unsealed on Monday. It indicates Milwaukee police went to Zocco’s apartment on the city’s East Side looking for evidence including blood, hair, bones and human remains. The crimes suspected and listed in the search warrant include homicide and mutilating or hiding a corpse.

The warrant indicates that video surveillance shows Dwyer entering Zocco’s apartment building on October 10th. The two leave the building and re-enter twice. But Dwyer is never seen leaving again.

Search warrant yields disturbing photos from Kris Zocco’s phone (Video)

MILWAUKEE (WTII) — New documents with more information in the case of missing Milwaukee woman Kelly Dwyer have been released — detailing photos and a video police discovered on a cell phone.

Police say in a returned search warrant, they found the disturbing images on Kris Zocco’s phone. Zocco is believed to be the last person to see Dwyer before she went missing.

Prior search warrants discovered DNA evidence including bedding and clothing. The most recent search warrant retrieved numerous images and videos from Zocco’s cell phone.

The documents state the photos are of Kelly Dwyer, naked with her hands and feet tied to a bed by neckties. According to the report, Dwyer appears to be unconscious.

The search warrant also describes other photos with Dwyer lying face down on a bed, naked, with her hands and feet bound, seemingly unconscious with what appears to be the hand of a white male on the back of her head pushing her face into the bed.
