STANDING OVATION FOR DEANNA REID
It's about time someone had the guts to stand up to that bunch.

I'm wondering why JA was never charged with witness tampering concerning "secret witness #1" Marc Mcgee or whatever his name is. Isn't he the guy that JA was wanting to get the coded messages to?
Had she been charged with witness tampering maybe we wouldn't have had to suffer his lies at all.

I think the coded messages were intended for JA's ex-boyfriend Matt McCartney (MM) and not for secret witness Marc McGee. The names are similar and it gets confusing.

I was hoping that Matt McCartney would be today's witness that the defense was trying to keep out...but, alas...it was just "magic panties" Abe.

I was thinking about how silly JW was yesterday when she asked Abe A if he was 17 years older then JA...Sooooo! Darryl B was much older too and she brought a house with him. Her client was looking for a sugar daddy so it wouldn't have matter to her how many years were between herself and him as long as he had what she wanted.

Lol, Hi wonders, I caught that too. I thought 'so what? what does that have to do with anything???' If we thought that, maybe the jury does too. I was beyond frustrated and angry that the 'magic pants' statement was not allowed. I am so aggravated with JSS....
At least Abe got to say that JA was always talking about how she could 'get' Travis and that he told her that it sounded like she was more interested in him than he was in her, and that she should move on and find someone else, lol!!! It just adds to the pile of evidence about Jodi's obsession with T. IMO.

So I am assuming we still have Deanna today when def. finds the audio of her testimony?? Is Matt M (intended recipient of hidden code) going to testify or not??? God, that would be bombshell time if you ask me...Hope he does...as long as JSS doesn't put too many muzzles on him as well...

I think you are correct, if there isn't a delay today, Willmott will continue the cross examination of Deanna Reid. I don't know who is on the prosecution's rebuttal witnesses list. Abe Abdelhadi was actually a "susprise witness". There might be others.

I was almost certain that Deanna was going to be called by the prosecution because "Witness #1" alleged in his affidavit that he had witnessed Travis acting violently toward her. I think today's cross examination is going to be an interesting exchange between Willmott and Reid.

18th, I agree that Willmott looked the fool when she attempted to make an issue of the age difference between JA and Abe.  I think she was trying to paint Abe as just another man that was attempting to "use" JA.  Clearly, JA  already has a history of dating older men.  I think Abe's testimony just helped connect the dots between JA seeking out men that she felt were in a position of power.  Darrell was the manager at the resort she worked at in Big Sur.  Abe and Travis were both successful and higher up the food chain in Pre-Paid Legal than was JA. That's the way I see it anyway...hope the jury does too.

As for Matt McCartney...I sooo wish that he would testify.  However, Juan has him on ice so I don't think there is much of a chance of that.  I would imagine that the prosecution would need to grant him immunity over his previous forgery/lying BS in order to get him on the stand and not have him just claim the 5th.  I think MM is definitely scared because he has not made a so much as a peep about this whole affair in years.  Juan's query to Geffner, "Do you know how MM feels about JA now?" does give me a little hope that we might hear from MM on the stand because I don't think Juan would ask a question that Juan doesn't already know the answer to.  That would mean that Juan has had some recent contact with MM.  Any thoughts on this topic?

Yes, I thought these same things. Matt has been conspicuously silent for a long time. I have no doubt that he would have some good deal for him with the prosecutors office IF he were to testify. I also think he's a little older and hopefully wiser; he has a wife and family. His wife probably let him have it about JA, and said 'are you nuts? You know what she is, are going to throw away your future for HER'??? I think ol' Matt definitely sees the big picture now. I would LOVE to see him testify for the pros, but he knows the def would slice and dice him on cross...

BBM. So well said. I see her as the "social ladder climber" an ivy entwining itself around the legs and the actions of another so she may be transported somewhere without her own volition. Abe spotted the immature player, the JA attempting to pit one man against another and he wanted nothing to do with that. JA wanted the perceived security/social status she thot Abe had but she knew she would never be able to control Abe as she did the younger Travis.

I would like to see Matt on the stand. IMO, Juan does not need him and runs the risk of a loose cannon.
Deanna, the bishop and DeMarte and we will have a pretty bow on this package, IMO.

18th, I'm not so sure the defense would be able to slice and dice MM if he were to testify. If the prosecutor gives him immunity then he would be able to openly admit all of the lies and dirty deeds he attempted on behalf of JA. There is not too much they can do to someone who is willing and able to just spill all their dirty laundry without fear of repercussion. The JAII kooks would definitely be after him though.

Hi Freckles, I agree that Juan doesn't need MM's testimony to win this. It would just be so interesting to finally hear exactly how JA attempted to pull all of the forgery BS off. Additionally, I would bet that MM can testify to how the "kiddy porn defense" idea was hatched, therefore, leaving no doubt for any juror that this was one big, heinous lie to smear the "sick and abusive" TA and try to earn sympathy for JA. Juan has teased at a possible MM testimony twice this week when he whipped out the secret code magazines and when he asked Geffner if he knows how MM now feels about JA. Probably just wishful thinking on my part...

I think it is from the interview with AZ Central on May 22, 2013. Michael Kiefer is present in that interview and he also asked her questions. You can see the reporter who is seating down, Kiefer is standing up. He asked her a lot of questions in the video with the tittle: Jodi Arias: "I didn't listen to my gut".
