I read somewhere yesterday that once closing arguments begin, the opportunity for allocution ends.

But....AZL on WS explained that while that is technically true, if JA jumped up at the end of closing and wanted to allocute, the court would allow, and each side would be given a mini follow up (Juan and DT).
