I don't think so; I believe this was something he wrote while he was in jail.

I found the following information:

"The other, taken at a hospital, showed Holmes naked and tethered to a bed, repeatedly trying to cover his head with a blanket and then a sheet. Uniformed officers and hospital workers pull them off and try to cover the lower half of Holmes' body with them.

Jurors also read a sheaf of papers that included writing by Holmes titled "Galactic Colonization," but the contents were not discussed in court."

No, I don't. I checked the Denver Post live blog as well as timelines I had bookmarked; I can't find a date for these writings. All I know is that Investigator John Gonglach testified about them on Day 47 (July 10).

"....Brauchler was about 15 minutes into the 40 minutes he was allotted for closing arguments when the outburst came.

His final argument before the outburst is detailed below:

“Nobody in their right mind could plan the massacre of a theater full of human beings, and we should take comfort in that,” Brauchler said. “But not having the same brain that we have does not protect you from the ramifications of those decisions. That’s what they (the defense) are telling telling you.”

Lead defense attorney Tamara Brady objected to Brauchler’s last statement. As the judge overruled her objection, the woman began shouting.

It was later confirmed it took seven Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies to remove the shouting woman from the courtroom. She continued to scream “Why didn’t you give him my pictures!” in the hallway.

After Brauchler’s closing argument concluded, Arapahoe County District Attorney Rich Orman asked that the woman be held in contempt of court.

“If there was ever a circumstance where someone deserved be held in direct contempt of court, it is this situation,” Orman said.

Brady disagreed, saying the woman “is obviously mentally ill,” and that getting her some sort of assistance might be more prudent.

District Court Judge Carlos Samour Jr. said he would not assume the woman was mentally ill, saying she had been in court for five days and “chose to follow the rules” during that time. He did not make any initial decisions on how the court would proceed before going on an afternoon break.

When closing arguments concluded around 3:30 p.m., jurors began deliberating as to whether the 62 mitigating factors presented by the defense in phase two of the sentencing hearing would outweigh the four aggravating factors they agreed existed in phase one. If they find mitigation does outweigh aggravation, Holmes will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

If the jury finds the mitigating factors do not outweigh the aggravating factors, the sentencing hearing will continue to phase three and the death penalty will remain a sentencing option....."

Monday she was given written instructions re emotional displays.

Cave commenced in yelling over the judge.

Judge sentenced her to 3 weeks. (!!! That is all???)

I have to say that I disagree with this. I will again defend Dr. Lynne Fenton. Fenton called JH's mother for some background information to gain insight into what JH's normal demeanor was like. She wanted to learn if the social anxieties, etc. were new to JH as she was concerned that JH was exhibiting early schizophrenic symptoms. Fenton did not divulge any information that was protected by Dr./client privilege, such as statements that JH had made. If she had told Arlene Holmes the specifics of conversations with JH then Fenton would have been in direct violation of HIPPA laws and in danger of losing her license. When mama Holmes told her that JH was always that way she probably gave Fenton even less to work with in regards to being able to obtain a psychiatric hold on JH. I don't think people realize just how hard it is to get a psychiatric hold on someone. It might be convenient for the Holmes' to blame Fenton for not violating HIPPA laws and telling them everything; however, legally and professionally, that was not an option that Lynne Fenton had. I don't think she did anything wrong by JH. Maybe, the laws are what need to be looked at rather than making Fenton out to be the wrong-doer in this crime. JMO!

Personally, if a psychiatrist from my child's university called asking questions about my child's demeanor it would set off huge red flags in my mind. I would be very concerned and immediately start trying to learn what was going on with my child. Seriously, did Arlene Holmes think that it is a normal occurrence to get a phone call from her adult son's university psychiatrist??? Arlene is a nurse and should have known that it was no small thing for a psychiatrist to reach out in this manner. Arlene's job demands that she understand the HIPPA laws. How could she not have known that Fenton was treading dangerously close to HIPPA violation and not asked herself "Why?" this Dr. would take this chance? But, no, she took a passive stance and acted as if "Jimmy" were still in Jr. High School and she had just got a call from the school nurse telling her that Jimmy hurt his ankle or something benign. I'm not trying to blame the parents, and I don't, but it makes me mad that they want to blame it on Fenton. She told Arlene all that she legally could and I'm sure she hoped that Arlene would take the bait and check up on JH since he had left the university and Fenton no longer had any ability to help.

From happy boy to mass murderer: James Holmes' life story weighed by jury

Centennial, Colorado (CNN)—James Eagan Holmes did not start out in this world as a psycho killer. The evidence his lawyers presented in court last week showed he once was a cute, happy little boy from a doting family, a nice kid who was gentle with his dog and his baby sister.

He was wanted, he was encouraged and he was taken to piano lessons and soccer practice and neighborhood birthday parties. He was at the center of a pack of exceptional boys who ruled his Northern California neighborhood and elementary school.

It all seemed so Norman Rockwell normal.

He did well in school and played basketball and video games. He went to the beach, on camping trips in the mountains and to Disneyland. There were family gatherings on Thanksgiving and Christmas and neighborhood parties on July 4 and Halloween.

He was a bit of a prodigy. After he finished his assignments in fifth grade, he and a classmate filled the time writing code and building a website for the school. His teacher, impressed, called him a "Renaissance child."

Excerpts from the link:

If it goes to phase 3: This could get very emotional.
In Phase 2: Specific guidelines and the victims were limited in what they could say.
Death Penalty must be 12 for. Selected jurors could be against death penalty but not morally objectionable in order to serve.

Jurors did find in Phase ! there were aggravating factors.
That is why they went to Phase 2 for mitigating factors.
Mitigators could be : past criminal behavior, if he had a mental deficiency.

Prosecutor talked about how horrible the case is.
Defense talked of JH's mental illness of which he had nothing to do with.

The question:
Do the mitigators outweigh aggravatees?
If they do, next phase...

For years, JH was a solid child. He was on his way to a prestigious PHD.
Mental illness has destroyed JH, the family as well as the many victims and their families. Mental illness has not been properly addressed in the USA...

All the experts agree JH is severely mentally ill.
It is genetic.
There was nothing JH or his family could have known or done about it.
