Tricia Todd (Williams) is a U.S. Air Force Veteran who was reported missing on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from Hobe Sound, Florida. Tricia Todd dropped off her two year old daughter with her ex-husband on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 and was supposed to pick up her daughter the following morning, but failed to do so. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Tricia Todd is listed as “missing under suspicious circumstances“. Tricia Todds ex-husband is in the U.S. Air Force and was scheduled to return to North Carolina, so he left the daughter in the care of another family member. Tricia Todd’s vehicle was located parked near her home in the Hobe Village Mobile Home Park. her vehicle’s keys were in the ignition and her purse was inside, but her purse did not contain her wallet. Tricia Todd is a registered hospice nurse.

Tricia Todd is 30 years old as of the date she went missing in April 2016 (DOB 2/19/1986). Tricia Todd is described as a white female standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 100-110 pounds. Tricia Todd has red hair and hazel eyes.

HOBE SOUND, Fla. - After a massive coordinated search across Hobe Sound Thursday and Friday turned up no sign of Tricia Todd, the Martin County Sheriff's Office now says detectives will head to North Carolina where Tricia's ex-husband is stationed at an Air Force Base.

The Sheriff's office says he was the last person to see Tricia and detectives have more questions.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office says he is not being called a suspect or a person of interest, so NewsChannel 5 has chosen not to identify him by name.

"If at any point you come across something that you feel might be a crime scene immediately stop what you're doing," a volunteer search coordinator shouted out to a massive search party gathered near Tricia Todd's home on Friday afternoon.

Authorities spent a fifth day Sunday scouring woods, parks and beaches as part of a "full scale" search for a Florida woman and Air Force veteran who vanished last week.

Tricia Todd, 30, was expected to pick her child up Wednesday morning, but she never showed up, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said. Detectives found her car near her home in Hobe Sound, about 25 miles south of Port St. Lucie, with the keys in the ignition and her purse inside, it said.

Todd was due to work a shift as a hospice nurse Saturday, but she didn't show up, according to the sheriff's office.

The search included helicopters, Marine units, bloodhounds and ATVs, which were deployed in woods, state parks and beaches where Todd was known to take early morning walks.

Volunteers were also handing out fliers in the hope that someone would spot Todd. The fliers, posted on a "Search For Tricia Williams Todd" Facebook page, said Todd is an Air Force veteran. The fliers list her height as 5 feet, 4 inches and her weight as 100 to 110 pounds.

Investigators have also interviewed Todd's ex-husband in North Carolina. Authorities, who believe he was the last person to see her, said they planned to interview him again Sunday. They added that he was being cooperative.

HOBE SOUND (CBS12) — The Martin County Sheriff's office released the last-known photo of Tricia Williams Todd, the missing mother from Hobe Sound.

The photo shows her at a Publix on Tuesday night, smiling with a clerk as she grabs her groceries.

Law enforcement and hundreds of friends and family members have been looking for Todd after she didn't show up for work at the Treasure Coast Hospice the next day.

The Sheriff's Office said over the weekend it has no significant leads from the ground search or investigation into where Todd may be.

"There is a compelling thought process that at a certain point we are probably looking for a crime scene," Sheriff Snyder said at a vigil over the weekend.

HOBE SOUND, Fla. (WNCN) – Florida detectives are traveling to North Carolina to interview the ex-husband of a woman who was last seen Tuesday April 26, CBS 12 reports.

Tricia Williams Todd was last seen by her ex-husband, Steven L. Williams, authorities said. She was seen on surveillance photos from a Publix the same night she was last seen.

Williams is stationed at a North Carolina Air Force base, CBS 12 reports.

Law enforcement has been joined by friends and family in the search for Todd. They began looking after she didn’t pick up her daughter April 27.

Todd’s vehicle was found in her neighbor’s driveway with her car keys and purse inside but her wallet and phone were missing.

Detectives said they plan to re-interview Williams in North Carolina.

The surveillance video is unremarkable: Tricia Williams Todd, a 30-year-old Air Force veteran, mother and nurse, purchases some groceries at a Publix in Hobe Sound, Florida. She smiles happily and chats with the clerk.

That was the evening of April 26 – the last time that Todd was seen in public.

Later that evening, Todd met her ex-husband, who was spending time with their 2-year-old daughter. According to police, Todd dropped off some medication for the toddler.

Todd didn't show up for work the next morning at the Treasure Coast Hospice, where she worked as a nurse. When she didn't pick up her daughter later that afternoon, her father called authorities.

Missing Air Force Vet Mom: No Evidence Tying Anyone to Tricia Todd's Disappearance, Sheriff Says

Florida investigators have found no significant breaks in the case of a mother who went missing last week, but said Tuesday they gave a lie detector test to her ex-husband and haven't found any evidence linking him to the disappearance.

"It's a very, very perplexing and mystifying case," Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters at a news conference Tuesday, nearly a week since Air Force veteran and hospice nurse Tricia Todd vanished.

At around 4 a.m. Tuesday, a detective, two lieutenants and an assistant state's attorney interviewed Todd's ex-husband in North Carolina and he voluntarily submitted to a polygraph test, Snyder said. The ex is the last person who reported seeing Todd early April 27.

"Nothing in [the ex husband's] lengthy interview — and it was a long and detailed interview — nor his polygraph exam indicated that he was involved or had any additional information about Tricia Todd's disappearance," Snyder said.

The ex-husband was seen on video buying gasoline at around 1 a.m. before she disappeared, but he told investigators he got the gas for Todd because she was running low on fuel in her car, and that was corroborated, Snyder said. The gas tank in Todd's car was drained and only a few gallons were found inside, consistent with that account, he said.

There is no hard evidence that a crime occurred, Snyder said, and a ground search will be scaled back but the investigation will continue. There has been no activity on her phone or credit cards that has been discovered, Snyder said.

Family continues separate search with volunteers

HOBE SOUND, Fla. —The mother of a missing woman thanked volunteers, friends and the community for their help in searching for her daughter.

Tricia Todd was last seen April 27.

Rebecca Hasselbach, Todd’s mother, and the family’s minister, the Rev. Wesley Holden, held a news conference Tuesday in Hobe Sound.

They answered questions about Todd’s disappearance. Hasselbach thanked the community for helping on search teams and DEEMI, the Martin County Sheriff Office’s search and rescue unit.

“Someone out there knows something (about Todd’s disappearance) or has seen something, and the more you spread her picture and information around, the more likely it's going to get in the right hands, the right person that knows something,” Hasselbach said.

Although the Martin County Sheriff’s Office has stopped searching for Todd by ground, the family will continue with a separate search party made up of volunteers, Holden said. Searches have expanded into Tequesta.

Steven Williams, 30, is facing a charge of second-degree murder and child neglect and being held at the Martin County Jail without bond.

At an 11 a.m. news conference, Sheriff William Snyder said investigators flew to North Carolina, where Williams lived, and brought him back to Martin County.

Todd, a hospice nurse, was supposed to pick up her 2-year-old child from her ex-husband on the morning of April 27, but she never showed up.

Sheriff William Snyder said Todd's daughter was present at the time of her murder.

The family of Todd issued the following statement:

Ex-husband of slain mother pleads no contest, charged with second-degree murder

At a press conference in Hobe Sound, Sheriff William Snyder confirmed Thursday that Steven Williams, the ex-husband of Tricia Todd, pleaded no contest to the second-degree murder in the death of Todd.

As part of the negotiated plea deal, Williams will be sentenced to 35 years in state prison

Snyder said Williams had to show the location of Todd’s burial site as part of his plea deal. “Williams also agreed to reveal exactly where he buried Tricia’s remains,” Snyder said.

Snyder said late Thursday afternoon Williams directed investigators to a site three miles behind Hungryland Preserve that they are currently excavating. The site was outside the Martin County Sheriff’s Office 15-mile radius search field for Todd.

The forensic unit from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office will perform the excavation, said Snyder.

The excavation will take several hours.

Williams must give the correct location of Todd’s body, said Snyder. “Every indication based on what he told us, that body should be there,” Snyder said.

MARTIN COUNTY (CBS12) — Martin County Sheriff William Snyder says only 'partial' remains have been found after hours of excavating the site where Tricia Todd's body was believed to be.

Steven Williams, Todd's ex-husband, led detectives to the Hungryland Preserve, where as part of his plea agreement, he was to show them the site where Todd's body was buried.

After hours of digging, investigators unearthed a container in an approximate 3-foot hole in the ground.

In the container, were only 'partial' remains which the Sheriff believes, belongs to Tricia Todd.

The Sheriff says this is now a major wrinkle in their case after Williams took a plea and is to receive only 35 years in jail if he showed them where her body was.

Investigators will now try to find the other remains of Todd starting Friday morning.

Sheriff Synder said the body parts inside of the small container, were in an advanced stage of decomposition. He also said there was a large amount of fluid found in the container and could speculate that 'acid' was used.

DNA tests will be conducted to be sure they belong to Tricia Todd.

Investigators will be back out at the wetlands at dawn in hopes of finding the other remains.

HOBE SOUND, Fla. - Sheriff William Snyder said Friday that most of Tricia Todd's remains have not been found, and it appears she was dismembered by a chainsaw.

Crews continued to search the Hungryland Preserve in Martin County for her body after some remains were located Thursday night and a small amount of tissue was found Friday. The Sheriff said no significant missing body parts have been located.

Authorities concluded their search at Hungryland Preserve on Friday evening and confirmed that they won't return to search at that site. The park has reopened to the public.

Hobe Sound, Fla. - HOBE SOUND, Fla.- Volunteers will continue the search for Tricia Todd’s remains this morning at the Hungryland Preserve.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office made the difficult decision to suspend the search. Deputies will resume it, if any new leads develop, including the possibility of another burial location.

Volunteers with Peace River K-9 will start searching at 9 a.m.

They’ll be using sonar technology and cadaver dogs.

HOBE SOUND, Fl. (CBS12) — For the first time since his daughter was reported missing over a month ago, the father of Tricia Todd shows CBS12 the area where he believes Todd's ex-husband Steven Williams tried to conceal his daughter's death.

"So he hid back here and tried to dig her a grave and apparently he did it ahead of time so it was a premeditated murder," said Todd.

Todd walks us behind a fence and along a narrow path where a hole is dug near the water's edge.

"We know she didn't suffer but it is a matter of respect," said Todd. "Christian people bury their dead because they love them and respect them. They don't just chop their legs off and arms off and throw them in a hole somewhere and just leave them in the woods like a dead pig," said Todd

David Todd wants to show respect for 'daughter I loved so much'

HOBE SOUND, Fla. —David Todd, the father of homicide victim Tricia Todd, went to the Hungryland Preserve Sunday and built a small memorial at the site where his daughter's partial remains were found Thursday.

He and his son Micah, 15, built a small wooden cross and surrounded it with flowers, and a turquoise wooden bench.

"I just wanted to show respect for the daughter that I loved so dearly," Todd said.

Speaking for the first time since his only daughter went missing, and her partial remains were found buried in a barrel of acid, Todd said he placed a pole in the dirt to mark the spot where she was finally found.

"We put a pole, which I want to replace with a tree if they'll let me, which is where she actually was buried for a month," Todd said.

11:53 a.m.: A Sawzall, chainsaw, pliers and nine teeth found in Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area in connection with Tricia Todd's murder. A shoe that was found is not connected to the case.

11:38: Sheriff says Tricia Todd's ex-husband likely killed her by strangulation without shedding blood.

11:35 a.m: Battery operated device with long pointed blade found. Hair evidence found on tools, sheriff said.

11:30 a.m.: Sheriff says nine human teeth found in water. Sheriff said they likely are Tricia Todd's.

11 a.m.: Sheriff tweets that "disturbing" evidence was found by deputies. News conference scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

10:50 a.m.: Divers put a shoe and a sharp pointed object in an evidence bag. Earlier deputies said Steven Williams might have gotten rid of clothes.

10:44 a.m.: Divers bring something to the surface that resembles a blade.

"....HOBE SOUND, Fla. - Martin County investigators said Thursday that saws used to dismember Tricia Todd’s body were bought by her suspected killer in late March, a month before she was killed.

Todd's ex-husband, Steven Williams, has confessed to killing her and dumping her remains at the Hungryland Preserve.

Detectives said Williams bought the battery-powered saws on Amazon.com.

Divers this week found the saws in a canal at the Hungryland Preserve near where some of Todd's remains were found in late May...."

"....MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - More evidence was uncovered Wednesday in the murder of Tricia Todd, the Hobe Sound mother who disappeared last month, and whose remains were found last week buried in the Hungryland preserve in rural Martin County.

Shortly after divers entered a canal not far from where Tricia Todd’s remains were located, the first major find was a set of pliers.
A connection made to a group of nine human teeth found along the canal bank, most likely from the victim.

“It would seem apparent that they were removed by Steven Williams (Todd's ex-husband) for the purpose of frustrating our investigators in what he had to assume would be their efforts to identify Tricia’s remains," said Sheriff William Snyder.

A short time later, a saw blade was found, followed by two saws, one a reciprocating saw used to sometimes cut drywall. The second, a chainsaw. Snyder says these discoveries reinforcing their initial thoughts about what happened to Tricia Todd...."

Documents outline Tricia Todd killer's attempts to cover up murder

MARTIN COUNTY (CBS12) — CBS12 obtained documents that outline Steven Williams' attempts to cover up the killing of Tricia Todd.

If you have been following this case, you might have wondered how Williams could have fooled a police polygraph test.

And was there another woman in his life?

This newly released evidence is chilling.

The findings of a search warrant in Raleigh, North Carolina, where Tricia Todd's ex-husband Steven Williams lived.

Detectives wrote about text conversations between Williams and his girlfriend Laura Guzik.

According to this account, Williams was concerned detectives would ask her to take a polygraph, so he advised her to take the drug sometimes referred to as GABA which is slang for Neurotin-- and can be used to trick the machine.

And a search of Williams house found items believed to be taken from the victim including jewelry, her cell phone-- which was turned off as soon as she disappeared. And the pink wallet that had been unaccounted for.
