Freckles, in the above comment, I was actually referring to a statement in the article you posted, "The judge ruled that prosecutors will not be able to bring up his last murder conviction and that survivors of the 2012 shooting can not identify Hernandez as the shooter in the court room".   

I don't understand why the judge would disallow surviving victims from identifying of the shooter?

I don't know. It has to be some lack of evidence or uncertainty OR the judge believes the victims' testimony may have been influenced or prejudiced by the earlier conviction?

Dunno.

I do think the earlier conviction might lead to a preconceived view of AH being guilty in this case. Even as I believe the potential has been demonstrated (and the evidence points to his guilt) he is allowed to be tried only on the merits of this case...

At the end of the day, the only thing AH really stands to gain by avoiding this conviction is that he will have less convictions to appeal. It is highly unlikely that AH will ever walk free again. I wonder if this reality has even sunk into AH's head yet? I also wonder if the Jenkins sisters have been able to mend fences. Shayanna could benefit from the support of her family as she raises her and AH's child alone. But, she did make some poor choices in the defense of her baby daddy.

An elderly man who talked his way out of serving on Aaron Hernandez’s second murder trial in two years seemed starstruck yesterday as he rhapsodized to another potential juror about the breadth of the former Patriot’s shoulders and the size of his hands.

Another male juror excused for hardship — one of 126 let go in the first two days of jury impanelment — was overheard remarking of Hernandez as he left the courthouse, “I feel sorry for him.”

A total of 375 men and women have reported to Suffolk Superior Court since Tuesday, and a third pool with as many as 200 more will be screened for suitability today. Approximately 257 prospects have completed questionnaires and remain in contention heading into today’s proceeding.

Like, thinking former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez was involved in deflate-gate.
A juror candidate in Hernandez’s double murder case drew a chuckle when she said she didn’t know much about the Hernandez case but remembered her co-workers discussing his involvement in deflate-gate, according to the Boston Globe. Deflate-gate, an overblown controversy about the Patriots perhaps deflating footballs, happened a year-and-a-half after Hernandez was arrested and charged with murder.
“Deflate-gate has nothing to do with this case at all,” Suffolk Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke said, according to the Globe.
The Globe said Hernandez and his lawyers got a laugh over the mix-up. The woman was excused from jury duty...

Jury selection continues Wednesday in the double murder trial of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, with nine slots remaining to be filled on the panel.

Four people were selected Tuesday as jurors, including a retiree who said he was “looking for something to do” and a man with a criminal record.

The selection of the two men and two women in Suffolk Superior Court brought the total number of jurors in the case to seven.

Two jurors who will eventually decide the fate of Aaron Hernandez looked the fallen New England Patriot in the eye and told him they would have no problem presuming him innocent of murder unless and until prosecutors convinced them he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

“I can absolutely do that, and I will follow the judge’s instructions,” said a young woman who yesterday was selected to sit on the jury in Hernandez’s upcoming double homicide trial.

Every juror that was eventually selected yesterday had some recollection of media reports surrounding the murders. Hernandez is accused of killing Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Furtado, 28, in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012.

My Dad gave me some very important life lessons.
One time I went to him and said, "Dad. I have made a mess of my life. I have made so many mistakes."
He replied, "I am sorry to hear you say that. Did you not learn anything? If you learned something, no matter how painful, it was a learning lesson. Some lessons are more painful than others. If you failed to learn anything, then, yes, you have made a mistake and that was a waste of time."

What’s going on with the jury in the double murder trial of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez?

As the jury ended its fourth day of deliberations, some courtroom observers are puzzled, particularly since jurors appeared to signal during their first afternoon of deliberations that they were nearing a decision.

On Friday afternoon, the jury asked Suffolk Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke, “If an immunized witness provides specific testimony that we believe would give enough evidence for a conviction, do we have to have corroborating evidence for that specific piece of testimony?”

The defense team pointed the finger at Alexander Bradley, a close friend of Hernandez who was with him the night of the shootings.

Hernandez, 27, is already serving a life sentence for the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

Bradley claimed Hernandez became enraged after de Abreu bumped into him while dancing, spilling his drink. He said Hernandez later opened fire on the men's car as they waited at a stoplight. ..."

This is so wrong. AH is one nasty piece of work. He killed his gf's sister's bf... someone HE supposedly was close to. And he acted like it was his right to kill him. And he tried to kill his own friend but ended up putting out his friend's eye. What an evil person he is. I hope he gets his own in prison. Always there is someone bigger, quicker, or a group of people...

“Multiple reports say the Massachusetts Department of Corrections confirmed officials found Hernandez hanging in his cell just after 3 a.m. Wednesday,” WTOP said.

IF AH was acquitted of the double murder, why not appeal the Odin murder outcome?
Supposedly. Odin was killed to silence him and the knowledge he had of the double murder.

Wouldn't AH be anticipating an overthrow of the earlier life conviction?

Wow. This just doesn't make sense. 5 days after being acquitted of a double murder, keep in mind he was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd whom the prosecution for the double murders stated
he killed him to cover up the double murders. He was found not guilty of the double murders just 5 days ago and yet he kills himself? I was waiting for his attorney to try and repeal the life sentence since if he "didn't do it" for the double murders what is the reason behind Odin Lloyd's death then? So many unanswered questions! I find it fitting he does it on the day the patriots were invited to the White House. Some are speculating that was his way of joining those whom were not going to go for their various reasons ( interesting concept). Whether he was actually guilty or not, in sure this hit home to his family and former teammates and bellichick. I hope they really look in to this because something is strange about this "Suicide" not a typical reaction for someone getting off on a double murder just saying. I know that Odin Lloyds family has been living a nightmare and I am sure that Hernandez also shared that nightmare... wishing he never got involved with certain people. He was a troubled teen and got a huge break in life and threw it all away and then kills himself. I can't help but think what his life would've been like had this all never happened, as I'm sure he thought about it too. Just hope to hear some clarity both sides deserve answers!
