Yesterday, Defense attorney Kirk Nurmi asked for a stay of the sentencing proceedings to seek special action relief from the appellate court.

I just called the Court of Appeals Division One here in Arizona to ask if the Arias defense has filed a Petition for Special Action Relief.

A search was done, and I was told nothing has been filed.

A request for Special Action Relief would be asking the appellate court to consider what was denied at the trial level by Judge Stephens...(granting a mistrial and granting the defense motion for Ineffective Assistance of Counsel).

The defense can also bypass the appellate court and go straight to the Supreme Court.

JSS was pretty pizzed off yesterday. What are the chances that she took the free afternoon to study up on "stay's" and got a bunch of case law ready to go just because she knew they'd do something like this.

Jodi is convicted. The trial should continue progressing to the next phases. At this point the convicted felon should not be having everyone dancing to her tune. She had a psych evaluation more than a week ago. Her DT knows shes nuts and is now used to her tricks. All and every allowance has been given to Jodi. There is just no excuse for the delay.
The VICTIM'S FAMILY is entitled to hear a verdict! The jury is entitled to go home and resume their lives! HOW and when did this all become all about Jodi and NOT THE VICTIM, WHO HAD HIS WHOLE LIFE TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM, AND HIS FAMILY LOST HIM FOREVER!

Hey guys....I don't think JAA wants the DP, do you?

I realize this is a court of law and they do have to protect her rights even though she has been convicted. However, there has got to be some kind of checks and balances to avoid what we are seeing here. Holding everyone hostage because death is different. What about Travis' rights? What about the Alexander family rights? What about the jury's rights?

Enuf is enuf.

I bet Jodi is wanting to say she wants the DP like she said in the interview. I think all this is defense covering their asses.
They want a plethora of records showing that they were fantastic counsel for her and that they did their jobs flawlessly.

The fact that Jodi's family was in the room at one point makes me think they were trying to change her mind. Again, all this should have been done yesterday.

I had a client just call and tell me that I USED to be johnny-on-the-spot when he asked for things.
