After helping Christy Ragas with her son's case (Zachary Pittman), I just hope that TJ is found soon.

I hope TJ's family does not have to go through what Christy endured during the two long years it took to find Zach.

TJ survived leukemia as a small child and a serious car accident as a teen. I hope and pray that TJ is found soon.

If he is the victim of foul play, I hope that he can be brought home soon to his family.

I think about TJ and his family every day. I pray that he is found!

TJ has birthday Wednesday.

Holidays difficult for families with missing loved ones

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two area families spent the holiday giving thanks and praying for answers as they search and hope for any clue of their missing loved ones. They mysteriously disappeared nearly two months ago, and this day just isn't the same without them.

In a separate case, another family is struggling with the loss of their loved one. TJ Murray went missing from a Spring sports bar back in October. On Wednesday, the Murray family held a vigil for TJ's 24th birthday, and they spent the Thanksgiving holiday with still no word of his whereabouts.

You could see the pain in the eyes of TJ Murray's mother. Like so many who love him, she wants to see him come home.

TJ was born the day before Thanksgiving 24 years ago.

"Today was hard," said his mother Janelle Murray. "Today was hard."

Janelle's son has been missing now over a month.

She said, "I didn't want to get out of bed. I laid there and cried some more and I thought, 'OK, it's Thanksgiving."

She got out of bed because she thinks TJ is still alive.

"I do believe that. I have to believe that," Janelle said. "I'm not ready for the alternative."

Very exciting news!

Lamar Advertising - College Station, Tx generously donated a huge billboard for TJ Murray's search efforts/leads. Per Facebook info, the billboard is located on I-45 (a major interstate) between The Woodlands, Tx and Conroe, Tx. It is an excellent location!

I can only imagine how excited TJ's parents and family must be in this development. I hope the billboard will generate leads for Montgomery County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers!

In a missing person case, a billboard is an effective way in generating leads. This is so awesome!

I watched KBTX (Bryan) 10 p.m. News on TV tonight. The report about TJ missing, the efforts of the SHSU students and Lamar donating the billboard for TJ was an awesome report.

The clarity of the bracelets, posters, Facebook page (Bring TJ Home Safe), the billboard sign, etc. were remarkable. The interviews with the students and Lamar Advertising were great. The manager from Lamar stated the sign for TJ would remain there until TJ came home (not verbatim).

I think it is so commendable of the SHSU students for selling the TJ missing bracelets and distributing posters. It says a lot about the caring students. I bet their parents are proud of them. I know I would be!

Without a doubt, the efforts of the SHSU students are bringing awareness to TJ Murray missing! Per KBTX, they have raised $6,000 to aid in the TJ Murray missing efforts.

T.J. Murray was last seen at a sports bar in October near the Woodlands. His parents say it's as if he just vanished.

For $5 each, T.J. Murray's classmates are selling them hoping to raise awareness and money.

TJ's billboard has been spotted. It is located up in the Willis/New Waverley area. North bound. Not 100% what exit though.

Although this should not have even needed to happen, I'm thankful that this sign was donated to get the word out and keep it out there.

Wow! This is awesome!

I wish TJ was attending classes at SHSU and keeping in touch with his family. I wish this sign was not needed but it is wonderful that there is a sign off of I-45 for TJ since he is missing.

Family and friends are still hoping that Thomas Murray Jr. will return home safely.

The Sam Houston State student has been missing for close to two months and law enforcement officials have not been able to find any solid leads in the case. Now a group of Murray’s friends are going to take to the streets to try to find the 24-year-old who was last seen at a sports bar in Montgomery County on Oct. 19.

Hannah McDonald has never met TJ Murray, but now, she said, she feels like she knows him.

After hearing the news of the local Oak Ridge High School graduate’s disappearance, McDonald got in touch with Murray’s family and asked if she could organize a search for the Sam Houston State University student that went missing Oct. 19.

MISSING: Thomas (TJ) Murray, Jr - The Woodlands, TX

TJ Murray, a Sam Houston State University (SHSU) student - Huntsville, Tx, was 23 years old when he went missing on 10-19-11. He turned 24 the day before Thanksgiving, 11-23-11.

TJ is a Junior at SHSU. Although TJ was living in Huntsville, he umpired some Little League baseball games in Montgomery County earlier in the evening on October 18, 2011. After the games, he met some friends at a nice Sports Bar, Rookie's, on Sawdust Road in The Woodlands, Tx. area. In a TV interview, his mother, Janelle Murray, noted it was the first day of the World Series.

Thomas J. Murray, Sr., TJ's father, called TJ around midnight expecting him to be home already. Mr. Murray called TJ again at 12:30 a.m. (10-19-11). TJ told his dad he would not be driving his father's truck home. Apparently, TJ was going to spend the night at his father's home and go back to Huntsville later in the day.

TJ never showed up at his father's home. The next morning Mr. Murray found his truck in the parking lot of the Sports Bar. On October 20, 2011, Mr. Murray contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) to report that his son did not come home and Mr. Murray's truck was in the parking lot of the Sports Bar. It was unusual for TJ to not be in contact with his parents since he enjoyed a close relationship with them and kept in regular contact with them.

TJ's cell phone was later discovered in a ditch near the Sports Bar. As of this date, there has been no activity on TJ Murray's credit cards or bank account.

TJ is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with white lettering and shorts. He was last seen at Rookie's Sports Bar.

TJ's friend stated he went to the rest room and when he came back TJ was gone. He assumed TJ left.

It has been rumored, but not reported by media or MCSO, that TJ had an argument with an ex-girlfriend in the sports bar.

It has been reported that TJ was outside of the bar and could not get back in. It has not been disclosed why he could not get back in.

Texas EquuSearch (TES) conducted an extensive search for TJ Murray for several days beginning October 25, 2011. Also, the Montgomery County Search and Rescue members participated in the searches.

On November 3rd and 4th, TES conducted another search which they allowed the general public volunteers to participate.

The nearby areas are heavily wooded.

TJ has been missing for over 7 weeks now. There are efforts being made to keep his name in the news on the local media. The Houston and Bryan/College Station, Tx media (TV) have been receptive to requests for coverage about TJ.

A Facebook page has been started, Bring TJ Murray Home Safe, and a Twitter of the same name.

Lamar Advertising - College Station, Tx generously donated a billboard on I-45 between The Woodlands and Huntsville, Tx. The General Manager of Lamar has stated the billboard will stay up until TJ is found or if the family requests it be removed. I am excited about the billboard. With the holiday season, there will be extra heavy traffic on I-45. Hopefully, some one will see it and perhaps it will jar some one's memory. Leads are needed in TJ's case!

Last week, students at SHSU sold "Bring TJ Murray Home Safe" bracelets at $5 each. In 2 days, they raised $6,000 for the Reward Fund. They sold bracelets Monday thru Friday. I do not know the final amount raised. I commend the SHSU students! What a great group of young people!

Justin Synder, TJ Murray's cousin, acting on behalf of Thomas, Sr. and Janelle Murray, designed the bracelets and they were sold at a Vigil which was held at Oak Ridge High School stadium in Conroe on October 29, 2011. They can also be purchased on-line.

TJ is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Conroe, TX. His parents describe TJ as a "fighter" because he overcame leukemia at the age of 5. TJ was in a serious car accident when he was in his teens. He broke his back and had serious injuries. It took months for him to recuperate but he's a fighter and he worked hard during his rehabilitation.

Mr. Murray is an Oak Ridge High School coach and teacher. Janelle Murray, TJ's mom, is a school teacher. Unlike the Anthony's, they continue to work.

This Sunday there will be a search for TJ Murray. If you live in the greater Houston area - Harris County, Montgomery County or surrounding TX areas, please consider volunteering.

It is odd that no one is talking, especially since the age group is young. Like TJ's family said, " Some one has to know something!" TJ Murray just vanished some time after 12:30 a.m. on 10-19-11.

MCSO need leads to move TJ's case forward. Hopefully, the huge billboard on I-45 and the continued efforts to hand out flyers, local media attention, Facebook, Twitter, etc. will generate some new leads.

No media updates from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office regarding TJ Murray's case!

No pleas for leads, in the TJ Murray case, from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office!

No searches by Montgomery County Sheriff's Office!

It is unfortunate that MCSO are not aggressively investigating this case like law enforcement in Orange County (Orlando), Florida are doing in the Michelle Parker case. December 17, 2011 will be one month that 33 year old Michelle, the mother of 3, went missing.

Law Enforcement (LE) have searched wooded areas, divers have searched a few lakes and Law Enforcement continue to ask the public for leads.

Michelle's cell phone was found last week by divers. It was at the bottom of one of the lakes they were searching. It was in remarkably good condition per LE. They hope to tighten the time line and get leads off of her cell phone.

Yesterday LE have indicated they will continue to aggressively investigate Michelle Parker's case even though they have cut back to 12 detectives on the case (as of yesterday).

I wonder how many detectives are working TJ Murray's case.

I wonder if they put this case on the back burner!

I have followed many cases and I've never seen the lack of updates from LE and pleas for leads like in TJ's case with the exception of the Zachary Pittman case in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

If MCSO does not have the capability or resources to investigate TJ Murray's case, they need to put their egos aside and ask for assistance from the Texas Rangers . . . for beginners.

I wonder if MCSO thinks TJ just hopped in a space ship and went poof!

My heart goes out to TJ Murray's family. I pray that TJ is found soon.

It’s been almost two months since Sam Houston University student TJ Murray went missing in the Spring area, but a search party of family, friends and those who never even met Murray held out hope for clues to his location Sunday.

Hannah McDonald lives in Walker County, and never knew Murray. But she organized an all-day search Sunday with several others because she’d “like to see him come home.”

“He’s been missing and he’s from the area,” McDonald said. “We’re searching until we can’t see anymore.”

In just a few days, Christmas will be here.

My Christmas wish is that TJ is found before Christmas and brought back home to his family.

My heart breaks for his family . . . not knowing what happened to TJ.

I think more than one person knows exactly what happened to TJ. Please do the right thing and come forward. Contact law enforcement. Put an end to this. Let TJ be found and brought home to his family!

Monitoring reports closely!

I take it you have not found anything new to report on TJ. How does an adult just disappear? As you said earlier, I, too, think someone knows something about this case. They maybe had nothing to do with his disappearance, but they saw him with someone and are just afraid to speak up. Praying he is located soon.

At least there is still hope that he is ok...At least I'm praying that he is...

In about 30 minutes, 2011 will end as we ring in 2012.

I was hoping and praying that TJ would be found before the end of 2011.

It is very disappointing that Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) - TX have not issued a plea to the public for any information about TJ Murray!

Some one knows what happened to TJ. It's amazing that no one has come forward with info. TJ needs to be brought home to his family and this case needs to be solved.

I sure hope I never have a friend or relative go missing in Montgomery County, TX. No plea for info or leads by MCSO! Not good!

I wonder if MCSO is classifying TJ's case as a cold case or if they have put it on the back burner.

MCSO needs to do a press conference with the greater Houston media, give an update on the case and plea for leads in this case.

If MCSO have no updated info on the case, then they need to put their egos aside and let the public know they are no closer to solving TJ's disappearance than they were shortly after TJ "vanished."

If MCSO does not have the resources or investigative skills to handle the case of TJ Murray's disappearance, then they should ask for assistance from other law enforcement agencies such as the Texas Rangers.

I wonder what MCSO would do if TJ was the son of one of their officers. Certainly they would not handle the case like TJ's has been handled . . . no press releases; no pleas for leads; no press conferences with the media, etc.

How will folks know TJ Murray is missing if there is no media coverage and more importantly NO UPDATES from MCSO? I bet many folks think TJ has been found since there is no media coverage on this case.

All of the above is "just my opinion."
