I do not want to spread a rumor but comment on a post that I recently read on another forum that states a news anchor from Tuscon posted on their FB page that police had located Isa's body on/near a Mexican beach about 220 miles outside of Tuscon.

Like I said:

This sounds like a rumor, but is anyone on FB who may know a couple of news anchors for Tuscon that could be searched on FB to see what this post really says?

it wasn't the news station that wrote it...someone else wrote it in as a comment, and he did not get much attention either. his FB page is private or i would have hunted down the original source. i have scoured all FB pages of news sites and noone has repeated this information...which is good, it hasn't gotten any attention.

He went to court for dog citations after Isa was reported missing.

I do not recall him having any kind of criminal past.

Tamta - I lost all my good Celis links and sources at THM, but the 4/19 filing was related to the dogs having gone loose in their neighborhood. Yes odd timing, but that one wasn't related to drugs or alcohol. We were questioning the circumstances behind the dogs all getting loose like that.

On the puppy as a xmas gift for Isabel... well, I have two opposite reactions to that. On the alarmed side, I've seen too many abuse movies where the child/victim gets some sort of "appeasement" gift to entice them to either forgive - or to keep their mouths shut. Does raise some flags considering this happened only months before she goes missing entirely. On the other hand the puppy would make dog #3 -- there are 3 kids - and Isabel may have finally come of age where it was her turn to get her own dog as the other two might belong to her brothers. (my daughter was 5 when I finally gave her a puppy and trust me, it was a "forgive me" gift for having moved her to a new house - otherwise I would have SURELY rethought that decision HA!). This family seems to have a history of not being very respectful to the neighbors or responsible with their dogs, so it's obviously no skin off their back to just add one more to the yapping brood. Seems the only ones who suffer are the neighbors.

I'm with you guys on thinking the custody arrangements involve drugs in some way. As was stated earlier - had it been molestation of any kind, there would already be other charges and/or arrest. And it was stated that the family "agreed" upon this arrangement with CPS. This is nothing shocking, at least not to me. I know of a few nurses (and it would make sense that dental hygenists could fall in this category) who fell to the temptations of having easier access to Rx drugs (or in some cases get a hold of someone's Rx pad). Not trying to say this is the case here - but there are circumstances that make such scenario quite plausible. And we have the DUI's (albeit from many years ago) but we also have the cousin who lived in the house for some time who had drug charges. So this might just be a case of testing positive for something - either controlled substances or Rx's. And yes - I too think one of the older boys started snitching. Considering we still don't know which dogs alerted at the house - the cadaver dogs or the foreign scent dogs - we still can only speculate whether drugs were detected by the foreign scent dogs.

Nick LaFleur, spokesman for the Better Business Bureau of Southern Arizona, says a tragic story like this one sometimes brings out the worse in people.

"There are very unscrupulous people out there who look to exploit the public's sympathy for situations like this," LaFleur says. "It's really unfortunate but it happens a lot."

Stolat, this seems imo, to shed light on maybe some of what LE kept referring to as "sensitive." It seems another family trying to control the image the family projects to the public, but it could be at the advise of LE. The couple certinly have a right to seperate or whatever in their relationship, but, imo, it introduces MORE people into the mix to be vetted.

Just speculating:

Could Sergio & Becky both have seperate residences & stay in the home on alternate days or weeks so the children could have normalcy & stay in the home all the time? (I have a friend that this type of arrangement was ordered in her divorce)

Did Becky braid Isa's hair & put her to bed, that's why she didn't check on Isa that morning before she went to work?

Could Becky blame Sergio some how causing the seperation?

The bottom line is, CPS forced A NO CONTACT on Sergio for whatever reason.

ishi, the thing is, we have no way of knowing really if the couple were happy. The couple has been painted by many as both being involved in the lives of their children & that those that knew the family couldn't imagine either would be involved in Isa's disappearance.

There has been a reluctance for the family to speak in the beginning, it took 10 days, imo, was for a reason. while National media covered this story, Sergio & Becky could have accessed daily to bring awareness about Isa, they chose not to but why? Now it appears the National media has moved on & the story is being covered mostly by Tuscon local news, a real mistake on the part of the parent's imo. Isabel is ALL THAT is important, she deserved every minute the Media was willing to afford her, I can't understand why Sergio/Becky squandered this precious resourse imo.

In a typical situation I agree the "shared" house concept with rotating separated parents is feasible - however, I'm not so sure this "house" holds any coheviseness anymore for the boys - it must be haunting for the boys to sleep in a house where their sister disappeared.

It is speculation that what whatever caused police and CPS to strip Sergio of ALL contact - both physical and verbal -- from his sons also forced Becky to re-evaluate the same and his inclusion in the famiy. I mean if CPS and police have to come in and tell you that your husband is not suitable for your own children -- how stubborn are you going to be about wanting to keep him around as a spouse???? There is a limit to "for better or for worse" - especially if it involves the detriment of the children. Again -- there is no evidence that she has formally "separated" from the marital arrangement -- only that they are living separately -- but jeeeezzz, as a mom, it sure is a wakeup call when outsiders have to tell you the person you've been living with is a threat to your own babies.

I agree with your thoughts, there is so much unknown in the case, the circumstances of this are just more. I agree, Becky is in a tough spot & I hate this for the boy's, more trauma.

I agree with some that speculated yesterday that some things could have been uncovered during the investigation at the home, or the computer could have even revealed pornography, or a failed drug test, ALL just speculatiion as we are trying to understand the circumstances in which Isa disappeared.

To further complicate things, the seperation/no contact w/the boy's in the family MAY have nothing to do with the disappearance of Isa. Still praying & hoping for Isabel's return.

They said it is not normal to skip past all the "typical" escalations of custodial options that parents normally have and go straight to "ZERO CONTACT". So in other words, they skipped right past the "supervised custody with family present, supervised custody at neutral location, limited contact restricted to verbal only, -- all the way to NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER. They went from 0 to 60 and NG pointed out that police specifically state this custodial situation changed directly related to results of the investigation, so she pointed out that this is a result of their investigation into Isa's disappearance and somethhing happened with the father and the process of this investigation to cause them to remove his presence with the boys. In her opinion, she said this was very very significant -- and not at all "typical". Dan (or perhaps it was NG) said it could have been drugs, or alcohol - but even still, those typically would merit limited visitation with supervision -- not complete stripping of any contact.

NG said perhaps it was "coaching" (ie., where Sergio was discovered to be coaching the boys as to what to say in interviews with police) but that even still, if that is the case, what in the world would Sergio need to coach anyone on? That would be just as Hinky.

Just adding my 2cents... when I watched the video of Sergio sing AveMaria (spelling)... Becky was holding his hand in both of hers and was supportive.. That doesn't jive with they are separated voluntarily.. What I think (speculation only) is that CPS gave them a choice... stay together we place the kids elsewhere... or separate and Becky has custody... given that choice most women would pick children! JMHO

Agreed. It could also mean that the results of something came back after that performance - after that visual display of support. A lot can change quickly if you find out someone is not who you think - even a long standing relationship, if the offense is great enough. On the flipside - the fact that the boys have been placed with Becky and an undisclosed relative says a lot as well. Why another relative? Why not just Becky alone? Is it feared that Becky cannot be trusted and will not use best judgement and defy the demands of the custodial change?

And why did it take CPS to give Becky that ultimatum?? Why wouldn't she have demanded that ultimatum of her own accord? If they are as close as speculated -- why isn't Becky aware of what it is Sergio was doing that warranted a COMPLETE stripping of his parental contact? What was she aware of and what could she be covering up? It says a lot to me if an outside agency has to come in to the family and uncover something that very likely (in this case) the mother should have well been aware of herself long ago and taken similar appropriate action on her own?

Julian and Sergio, aged 10 and 14 respectively, are now in the exclusive custody of their mother Becky, who does not live with their father.

Isabel was at her father's house on the night she disappeared last month.

This came about as a result of misreporting I believe .

The local news outlet which had reported the boys being placed with their biological mother, Celis's ex wife, has since removed this comment.

Daily mail must have sourced them not LE. Honey sage up thread posted the latest article on this issue of who the brothers are with.

When I'm on my laptop later I can reference the link that originally started this misunderstanding but as I said, the comment has been stricken.

ha! well you likely have the clear thoughts and I just have the big mouth lol!

Not to be too unfair to Becky, it is very possible she was too busy with work and sport activities to see things going on she should have seen. But what is concerning is that both have had alcohol records (albeit from nearly 10 yrs ago) - but both know that the other has had some issues of some kind in the past.

I tend to agree - I think the comment has been redacted (but without formal acknowlegement) and that likely the media misinterpreted the context of "separately".

Alessandra - to address the issue of where Becky was - we don't know exactly. All we know is what time she claims she left for work in the morning. We don't know if she checked on Isabel on her way out and we don't know if she was home when Isa disappeared. We do know (lost the link at THM) that Becky Celis was not at home at the time 911 call was placed - it was reported that at that time Becky had been notified of the crisis and was in transit on the way back home from the clinic (which is less than 10 min drive) around the time 911 was called.

Thanks Honeysage! It was speculated that the brother placed the call while the dad and other brother went to canvas the area. So my guess is that the dad & brother are walking the streets and the other brother stays behidn and calls 911. The 911 dispatcher may have mistaken the brother's voice as being that of a girl (hey, if he's a chip off the old block, it's not a stretch, right?). So when the brother said Isabel was his sister, the dispatcher very likely mistook that to mean that the caller was female and therefore was the sister of Isabel and transcribed it as such.

So the transcripts confirm that mom was en route back home from work and not yet at home. This means Becky was called before 911. Why? Dunno. Maybe to confirm with her that Becky did not have Isabel??

The real question to me becomes -- was Sergio even ever in the house overnight once everyone got to bed??? Not only do I want to know who was the last to see Isa .... I want to know who was the last to see Sergio? And when?? Was he at home. It it possible he was just strolling in at 8am and the kids had been alone from the time their mom had left for work?

I was wondering because I remember that it was reported that Isabel's mother left home for work before her husband discovered that she was missing, I was confused by the latest news about them being separated and Isabel supposedly at "her father's house' when she went missing. Thank you all for the clarification about the media's mistake.
