" Wounds show that Alexander attempted to fight his attacker, the report said. A spent .25 caliber casing was found near the sink. An autopsy found Alexander sustained 27 puncture wounds and one gunshot wound, with the bullet found in his left cheek."

" Deleted pictures showed the victim posing naked in the shower on June 4 at 5:22 p.m., with the last picture showing him alive at 5:30 p.m. Subsequent photos showed him bleeding while on the floor, the report said.

The pictures of Arias posing naked on Alexander's bed were taken at 1:40 p.m. the same afternoon, the report said. "All were nude pictures and some in provocative sexual poses," the report said."

Hoping you guys can help me get a handle on this because I haven't followed this case in detail. Ok so they were broken us and each found new love interests but she was still a secret booty call. The day prior to him leaving on vacay with another girl Jodi shows up and they have consentual sex all day and when she wanted him to cancel the trip with the new girl he refused? When he went to show she can in and killed him? Now they said there were pre-death pics of him posing in the shower so he knew she was there taking pics? The last pic they show on the news just haunts me, he looks like a mix of stunned, scared and confused to me. So she attacks him in the shower and then drags him around the bedroom? How is that one pic of her killing him possible? The camera is up above her head if I'm seeing it correctly in the rotated pic above. Where was his body actually found? Why drag him around? I'm confused on the actual process of the murder.

From what I gather, when he went into the shower and went in a kneeling position, she took that opportunity to stab him thru the heart. That didn't kill him but made him weak and he staggered to the sink, while he was bent over the sink she stabbed him repeatedly in the back. While he was still staggering along the wall, most likely on the floor at this point, she cut his throat then dragged him to the shower in the attempt to clean him or whatever, and then shot him in the face. THe pictures were taken by her, I guess during each step that she went thru. She loved camera's and always took pictures of everything (per Jody), so I guess she couldn't pass up taking pictures of the murder. She was actually seen in one or more of the photographs.

She obviously couldn't take rejection and she was going to stop him from going on that trip with Marie Hall one way or the other.

I don't get the "self defense", she is claiming that he thru a fit when she dropped his camera. She had previously slashed his tires and the day after he bought new tires she slashed them also. I would think that if he had such a temper, that the slashing of the tires would have made he go over the edge, not the dropping of a camera (that looked as though it may have cost about 200.00). The camera obviously didn't break, so it all sounds like bull to me.

I think she caught him off guard. She had stolen the gun from her grandfather's house a week before the killing (not proven but the prosecution is certainly going there), same calaper gun used as the one reported stolen. She lied, first that she was hundreds of miles away when the murder took place, then when they found her palm print, she claimed that she was there but that 2 men came in and attacked them and she managed to get away. Then when they found the pictures, she claimed she did it in self defense. She had been stalking him for some time.

Bmore - there are transfer blood stains all the way down the hallway from the master bath to master bedroom. Due to blood spatter and transfer patterns no more than 12" high on the hallway walls, this implies that Travis was crawling on the floor trying to escape his attacker. It is thought that he made it just to the carpet and she grabbed him from behind, yanked up his head, and slit his throat nearly decapitating him. He immediately began to bleed out causing the huge stain on the carpet next to the tile.

Geez... I think I was better off not knowing... that is horrible...

Bmore - Here's a link to a reenactment of suggested sequence of events. Possibly he tried to crawl out of the bathroom down the hall towards the bedroom and she slashed his neck there, then dragged him back to bathroom. Thus the blood on bedroom carpet and blood on walls between bedroom and bathroom. She butchered him. He struggled for his life. There are no words to describe the depths of cruelty she inflicted. If there ever was a case for first degree murder and death sentence, this is it.

In this pic I can make out Travis head, shoulder, and arm but nothing else. It was mentioned in court that the pic was shown upside down so I rotated it and this is what I see:

Now in the rotated pick how would the camera get a pic of her back as if it's above her? Could it be her leg and arm with her hair hanging down? The pic is still dark for me...

The dispute over how Jodi Arias killed her lover came to a head late Thursday when the Arias defense team accused the prosecution’s lead detective of perjury and asked for a mistrial in her murder case.

The motion was denied, but the record was made.

In 2009, during hearings to determine whether there was probable cause to seek the death penalty against Arias, Detective Esteban Flores told the court that, based on conversations with the county medical examiner and his study of the scene, Arias first shot Alexander.

The shot, it was said, may or may not have knocked him out initially, but ultimately, Alexander then fought with Arias as she stabbed him 27 times and slit his throat.

Flores repeated that theory of the crime in interviews and sworn statements to Arias’ legal team.

But right before the case went to trial, the story changed.

In his opening statements Jan. 2, Deputy County Attorney Juan Martinez told the jury that Arias first stabbed Alexander, then slit his throat and put a bullet in his head after he was already dead.

The difference in the sequence of events could mean the difference between life and death for Arias ...

I lost track of this case years ago and only recently picked it up when I scanned RC. Think it would take more than a day to catch up. While I do this, can anyone explain why & when JA changed her hair colour from blond to brunette?

Hi Bat Woman,

When Jodi went to the airport to rent the car that she drove from California to Arizona, and later to Utah to visit Ryan Burns, her hair was blonde, as per a police report of a surveillance video. When she arrived at Ryan's house outside of Salt Lake City (Utah), she was already a brunette, no one knows when or where she changed the color of her hair, or if she did it before or after she killed Travis.

I think the obvious answer is that she changed the color of her hair to change her appearance because she didn't want to be recognized. It could be construed as premeditation.

When Jodi went to the airport to rent the car that she drove from California to Arizona, and later to Utah to visit Ryan Burns, her hair was blonde, as per a police report of a surveillance video. When she arrived at Ryan's house outside of Salt Lake City (Utah), she was already a brunette, no one knows when or where she changed the color of her hair, or if she did it before or after she killed Travis.

JA stated she slept in the car alongside the road. I wonder if that is true?

I could see JA changing her hair color as if she is putting on/taking off identities.

It could be true if she changed the color of her hair after she killed Travis.

She thought she could get away with murder, I think reality is finally sinking in, she looks frail.

I have read there is unaccountable time from the time JA left Pasadena to Nevada. Is it possible this is the time when she changed her hair color? Perhaps, removing front plate of car, flipping back plate, etc?

Trouble getting this time line in place. IIRC, she was "going to visit" a gf of hers in Pasadena but the gf supposedly wasn't home. Do we know if JS actually went to Pasadena at this time or was she somewhere else and just saying that? Has the GPS been recovered? Rental cars now have those to prevent the cars from being stolen.

I'm trying to find a map of Jodi's over 2.800 miles trip.

Allesandra and Freckles, I do recall Jane Velez Mitchell showing a map of jodi's trip on Thursday night, Jan 10. I think the prosecutor is going step by step with witness testimony to show jodi's lies. Saying that, I believe in reference to the friend and new baby the prosecution will cover that. It would not surprise me if jodi colored her hair in Travis's home. Many of us picked up on the fact jodi had a man with her at the time of the car rental. That should be intersting if we ever find out. Now that jodi has admitted killing Travis, the defense's main problem will be self defense. So far, it doesn't look like it. But, we know how trials can go !

Freckles, I am 99% sure the license plate change was right before ja arriving in Utah. Ryan Burns testified last week she was pulled over by police on their way to a meeting (in separate cars) Her story kids were fooling around with her license plates in the front. But she didn't notice the back one was upside down. I was wondering though, if she changed them after leaving AZ. It is quite a distance from AZ to UT, it would be a lot of luck that it wouldn't be noticed sooner in that scenario. Her interviews are so much like casey it is scary. She just goes on and on. She is working on her third story!

Hi Bmore, on May 28, 2008, just a few days before the 6/4 murder, JA's grandparents' house was allegedly broken into and 4 items "stolen" including a 25 caliber gun (same used on Travis). A laptop and DVD player were among the other items, however there were other valuables left untouched implying that it may have been a staged burglary.

Also, re the hair dying - I think it is possible LE knows when she bought the hair dye because even though they went through all 22-23 receipts last week (chronicling her road trip), they did not show the actual items being purchased. It could be CVS, Walgreens spree; that might narrow down the time of going from blonde to brown.

after posting I began thinking...: blond: sex kitten / brunette: (innocent) girl next door. Trial visage: school marmish. So much for 'appearances'.

On In Session this was mentioned a few moments ago: pictures were found on the camera with Jodi in pigtails as a brunette. These were on the camera found n the washing machine in Travis's home.

This issue has been litigated ad nasuem before other judge;
Duty of candor belongs to both sides;
Det Martinez could not get them to print them out and give them to anyone:
896 pages of text messages were obtained AFTER technology available.

State said they did NOT exist; did not state they existed but not available; much litigation before Judge Duncan; now det is stating other than prior statements;
