At his pace? Two weeks PER witness .... IMO, he is hoping to wash out the jury. Send it in to mistrial.
Nurmi needs to be brought up on misconduct charges and disbarred NOW. Period. Start this over or just give her life. The judge really screwed up by giving too much lead to the dt.

Most judges have calendars.
They ask the attys how many days per, etc..
Then the judge adds a few days/weeks....
Nurmi needs to be made to stick to his original with list....
he is gaming and it is pissing people off.

PHOENIX –  The cost to Arizona taxpayers for Jodi Arias' defense now tops $2.7 million, and the figure will keep rising as her penalty phase retrial continues in a Phoenix courtroom.

Maricopa County spokeswoman Cari Gerchick released Thursday the amount billed so far by Arias' two court-appointed attorneys after she was unable to pay for her own defense. The figure is up more than $200,000 from the one released in late September.

Re: juror number 3. I am guessing that the person was excused by choice. I bet that because this trial is now going to last right through Christmas and way into the new year, whoever it is had issues, as that is NOT what these jurors were told, and probably just couldn't spare that much time...

This all sounds pretty fishy to me. During the first sentencing phase, there were only a couple, with Jodi taking center stage to hawk her domestic violence tees...How can this be possible?

Jail house friends? Bobby's old gf now wanting to testify for JA? Matt's wife forgiving of JA? Daryl's son wanting to say how great JA was taking care of him? How about the local John stating she was great at increasing his revenue? Or maybe it is just a bunch of bs... and she has a former atty wanting to take the stand and "tell us the truth".... with the agreement of JA so atty/client privilege is not violated????? Bet all of them became "friends" with JA AFTER THE FACT, ie, AFTER SHE WAS ARRESTED.

I would like to have the knife and the gun and other missing items suddenly appear....sometime in my life time but that will happen (if it does) only after I am dead. And this trial just might still be going on.

This person went to a lot of work to put this together so I hope you get a chance to visit her site.

Here are answers to some of my questions:
The big confrontations between Travis and JA took place in May, the last being May 26, 2008.

House "robbery" where JA stole her grandfather's gun was May 28.
That was two days after she had lost complete control of Travis.
Two days after Travis informed her he could destroy her; ie, she did not stand a chance at continuing her destruction of the man she supposedly loved. Two days.

In the two days, JA plans the robbery, plans her alibi with Ryan, plans time off from work (cut finger excuse?), makes travel plans to visit former bf Matt and Daryl and go to Mesa. She leaves each person with the same alibi of going to Utah.... never mentions AZ.

She badly cut her finger at work on May 31, 2008.
IMO, what with all the physical movement of JA killing Travis, this injury probably reopened and that was the cause of the bleeding on her finger after Travis was murdered. This was an injury related to her job NOT to killing Travis. The bad part is her employer failed to report it as IS required by CA state law.

May 16 and 22 are critical dates. From the entries there, if they are to be believed, this is when JA is teetering on the edge of planning the final destruction of Travis. She rapidly puts it into play.

You may find this is way off topic but I wanted to share it for the correlatives it offers in understanding Travis and his pursuits looking for "the perfect wife." I am not positive but from reading the journal entries by Kerry Messer, I believe the author is probably Mormon.
It is his wife who disappeared without a trace last summer.

It was the journals, his entries and comments, and his referring to his wife as his "Bride" thruout his melodramatic writings which make me believe he is Mormon. From that, I am sharing this post of his to help understand what Travis may have been experiencing:

Let me pause for a moment to explain something. As I entered my teen years, I discovered ‘girls’! Wow! They were everywhere. They came in all kinds of packages. They drew my attention without even trying and I had no idea why(?). (It would be a long time before I realized that I had started daily prayers for some unknown girl that had not even turned 12 years old yet!) But this shift in prayer renewed my mind and transformed my life. It allowed me to receive peace and comfort instead of my teenage anxieties. (see Romans 12:2) ....."

PHOENIX (CBS5) - The jury in the Jodi Arias sentencing retrial returns to Maricopa County Superior Court for its 17th day Tuesday after a break over several days for two evidentiary hearings last week.

Testimony was originally expected to get underway at 1:30 p.m. Monday, but that was changed to only a status conference hearing at 9:30 a.m.

Jodi Arias trial testimony pushed back another week

Jurors in the Jodi Arias sentencing retrial in Maricopa County Superior Court were given another week off after a status conference Monday that played out mostly at the judge's bench, out of earshot of the press and public.

Arias' lead defense attorney, Kirk Nurmi, reiterated to Judge Sherry Stephens that he had three witnesses who refuse to testify in public and that he would like to wait until he can take an appeals court order forbidding secret testimony to the Arizona Supreme Court.

...Arias will be back in court Thursday, even if the jury is not, for a third evidentiary hearing. The hearings will determine whether the prosecution's intent to seek the death penalty should be thrown out because of defense allegations that police and the prosecutor lied about pornography on Alexander's computer and tried to delete it.
