i just have to let it out...i HATE balloon releases! here is a small list of alternatives...there are many ways to honor people without doing further damage to our environment. OK-going to go hug a tree now!

Thank you. Me, too. I have yet to buy a helium balloon.
While they look pretty, they get caught in power-lines, clog our rivers, can even get sucked into airplanes. They don't serve ANY purpose. Except to bring a short term smile and a long term headache. (I could see if the balloon was kept indoors, for a party or at a hospital but not outdoors.)

Missing Tampa woman's car found near Punta Gorda

Ellen Anne Quinlan, a 27-year-old Tampa woman, was last seen by family members on Thursday night.

PUNTA GORDA (FOX 13) - Authorities in Charlotte County are asking for the public's help in locating a missing Tampa woman.

Ellen Anne Quinlan's abandoned car was located Friday in the middle of a dead end road north of Punta Gorda.

The vehicle was left with one of the windows open, the keys inside and the missing woman's purse on the front seat.

According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office report Quinlan, 27, was last seen by her parents Thursday night. Investigators say she left her cell phone in Hillsborough County and family members don't know of any reasons for Quinlan to visit Punta Gorda.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY - Officials in Charlotte County are continuing to search for a missing Tampa woman, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said Sunday morning.

A massive ground and air search still has not located Ellen Anne Quinlan, whose abandoned white Toyota Camry was found on Shell Creek Court, just off U.S. 17, northeast of Punta Gorda.

Quinlan was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark pants. She's a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 115 pounds.

Authorities continued to search Sunday for a missing 27-year-old Tampa woman whose abandoned car was found Friday near Punta Gorda.

Search efforts are centered on a mobile home park and canals where Ellen Anne Quinlan was last seen, reported to be seeming confused as she walked through the park.

A Charlotte County sheriff's deputy and dive team member were patrolling waterways in a boat equipped with side-scan sonar.

Authorities spent Saturday night looking for Quinlan by helicopter and initiated reverse 911 calls to area homes.

TAMPA (FOX 13) - A Tampa woman missing for days has been found alive in Charlotte County.

But the circumstances are puzzling. Authorities tell us 27-year-old Ellen Quinlan was found late Sunday night in heavy brush.

She was taken to the hospital and appears to be in good condition. She had been missing since Thursday, when authorities found her car abandoned in Punta Gorda.

I don't like government secrecy, I prefer more transparency, a state shouldn't be punished for releasing information that might paint child welfare agencies under an unfavorable light. What they need to do is to fix the existing problems that most agencies are facing right now.

We have followed multiple cases where children ended up dying because CPS failed them. CPS is a fractured system in dire need of repair.

welcome :) So glad she was found, seems she has a mental illness that became acute and she was lost. Thankfully no crime was committed against her.

Dharun Ravi being sentenced today. presently Dharun's mother speaking. Victim impact statements already given. Defense attorney was rambling as usual, wasn't impressed with him during trial, still not impressed. Judge said earlier that Tyler Clemente's death was the 'pink elephant' in the room. Dharun convicted of bias intimidation and invasion of privacy numerous counts. Seemingly unrependent and arrogant. Poor mother is crying now and so is Dharun. Interesting to see what the sentence will be.

“I don’t know why it takes you there now,” Jeremy Irwin responded, “but when we first found out about this in December, that’s where it used to go was the website where you can change someone’s name online.”

Well, I think this is pretty simple to answer -- someone needs to look at Jeremy's computer and review the cache folder for his internet page hits. Stuff will be cached there - icons graphics - anything relating to the page as it appeared when he *allegedly* viewed it and saw what he claims. Someone could be able to tell based on what is cached there if he really saw it as he claims.

Did he take any screenshots when he saw that site??? Did he print off pages from that site?? My guess is no - and conveniently so. But if FBI really wanted to - they could validate this claim. My suspicion is that based on the fact they say it didn't generate any leads tells me there is a very good reason why -- and that this is yet another excuse for them to point the finger at someone else. Hence their complaint:

"Bradley said while she understands the police and FBI have jobs to do, the answers she has received about her daughter are unacceptable. "

Just as her answers and lack of SEARCHING of any kind on her part are unacceptable as well. But such is life when you've returned back to 100%.

30 days? Colossal insensitivity indeed. I highly doubt Ravi would have gone through the trouble of spying on a heterosexual roommate. I believe Tyler was targeted simply because he was gay and in my opinion this too is a hate crime.
On a more positive note, I am glad to have reunited with my hinky mates here at Reality Chatter. I look forward to this new adventure:)

30 days??? Are you joking??? I don't care what the motive was or the reason for the motive!!! He made a person's life intolerable and he did it intentionally!!! He bullied and he bullied and he spread slander and mocked another to DEATH.

The judge is sending a deadly message. May he be recalled.

prosecution says they will appeal the sentence. Vinnie on IS says this is less than a slap on the hand. I feel for the Clemente family, what must they be thinking.

I agree 30 days is lenient, but I never expected 10 yrs either - there are rapists out there who don't even get 1 year.

I'm on the fence, the judge may be sending a different kind of message. My roomate committed suicide just after we graduated. Suicide is selfish. It devastates and scars the lives of those left behind. It is a selfish act, regardless of the emotional trauma behind it and at the end to the day, no one holds a gun to your head and make you kill yourself - it is a choice you make and you do so without wondering how it will crush your parents and break their hearts. There are healthy ways to recover from these acts of bullying. And THAT is the message that kids need to see today.

I think there are a lot of suicide victims out there who may think "I'll show them, I'll make them sorry they ever did this". But in this case, that wasn't really the case. Perhaps the judge is sending a message to people that there's always a better way to deal with this than making your family die alongside with you. Had he lived, he could have sued the pants off him and his family and made a shitload of money - THEN he could have really shown him and have lived to see the day where he could laugh his ass off over it too.

he he... How ironic... Rhavi may get initiated behind bars, and then he can't ridicule Clemente anymore. To quote Eddie Murphy quoting Mr. T: "hey, boy you look mighty cute in dem jeans!"

Chickenbutt, I am hopping mad about the sentence the unremorseful, arrogant, POS Ravi received! I watched the victim impact statements from Tyler's mother, brother, & dad. It was gut wrenching, it made me cry to hear his parent's talk about the distress Tyler had felt before he took his life, he checked Ravi's facebook/twitter 37 times before commiting suicide.

IF Ravi had displayed any remorse or even offered a heartfelt apology, I might not feel so strongly, but he never made any attempt, imo, to this day, he doesn't see that he has done anything wrong. Tyler's mother talked about the family going to college w/Tyler & helping him settle in his dorm room, she described how excited he was. The STATE is furious in this case & has put the Judge ON NOTICE they are going to appeal this. Sadly, the Judge is appointed so he has absolutely no consequence for giving such an embarassing sentence, he can't lose his job. In light of the unbearable hurt & embarassment Ravi INFLICTED on Tyler, this, imo, furthers the families pain. I am saddened that Tyler, a talented young man is gone, & saddened further that some A HOLE thought he would embarass Tyler by exposing what Tyler assumed was private. It is our loss that this young man is gone, the world is a sadder place.

The girl involved, I assume Ravi's girlfriend, opted to an alternative program for punishment.

art tart, excellent comment. You hit the nail on the head. I was shocked over this sentence.

We have a "runaway judge" in a nearby county in my area. He gave probation with Deferred Adjudication to a sex offender who had been raping an 8 year old relative.

The child's parents were devastated.

Since then the SO violated his probation (12 violations) and the judge could have sent him to prison. But . . . no. There will be a hearing in June!

This has got the attention of one of the best investigative reporters in the greater Houston area, Randy Wallace, with FOX 26 (KRIV), Houston, Tx.

A few weeks ago, he went to the area and turned up the dust! It was on FOX 26 a few weeks ago and most of the video has been posted to their website.

Here is a Link to the thread if you are interested in this very sad miscarriage of justice. It will make your blood boil because it is about an innocent, defenseless 8 year old child and a SO who has been given a pass, by a TX judge, to continue on.

If I lived in that county and was a registered voter in that county, you can bet I'd be there spear heading a campaign to vote this judge out of office! No ands, ifs or buts about it. The child advocates in my area are outraged and we did do a campaign to e-mail/FAX the judge to express our outrage. I think we jammed his FAX. lol
