HAYNEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama man acquitted in a double murder is being charged with killing 9-year-old twins and their elderly baby sitter earlier this week, a prosecutor said Thursday.

Police are looking for Deandra Marquis Lee, 22, who was out on bail on felony gun and robbery charges when the killings occurred Tuesday. He has been charged with three counts of murder, Lowndes County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer said.

HAMMOND, Ind. (CBS) -Friends on Saturday remembered a 16-year-old Calumet City girl who disappeared this week before her body was found in a Hammond, Ind. trash bin a day later.

Jessica Tetter was found at 5945 Hyslop St. in Hammond on Thursday — initially as a “Jane Doe.” She died of trauma to the head and body, said the Lake County, Ind. Coroner’s Office, which identified Tetter.

Friends the teen held a vigil in her memory on the track at Thornton Fractional North High in Calumet City. Tetter was on the track team and also boxed, friends say.

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (AP) — Police in south suburban Chicago say a 16-year-old girl whose body was found in a Dumpster in Indiana had been reported missing.

Calumet City Police say in a Saturday news release that officers responded to a missing person's report on Wednesday, the day before Jessica Tetter's body was found in a Dumpster in nearby Hammond, Ind., on Thursday. The Lake County Coroner's Office in Indiana has determined the teenager's death was a homicide.

Calumet City Police say they have a suspect in custody. They say the investigation into the girl's death continues.

NORTH FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) - Police say a toddler and baby are missing on Saturday.

Authorities say Gabriellemarie Gebrselassie, 2, and Gisaiah Golder-Mumphrey, 10 months old, went missing on June 3 and were reported missing on Saturday, June 9. Their mother, Gwendolynn Golder, 19, lost custody to Children's Services and refuses to tell the caseworker where the kids are located. Authorities believe the children are with a friend of the mother. Golder is now in the Hamilton County Justice Center for contempt.

Gebrselassie is described as a black female with a light complexion and weighs around 30 pounds. She is about 3 feet tall with brown eyes and brown curly hair. Golder-Mumphrey is described as a black female with a light complexion and weighs about 20 pounds. She is about 28 inches tall with brown eyes and brown curly hair.

The two children were last seen by the caseworker earlier this week through a window of Golder's home in the 1700 block of Bleecker Lane when Golder refused to open the door.

The parents of Carly Liptak say she was healthy, with dreams of becoming a professional softball player. But during sixth grade, her doctor recommended she have her tonsils removed.

Nearly two years ago, the death of a Palm Harbor 12-year-old after one of the most common surgeries for children shocked many who thought tonsillectomies were routine.

Carly Jane Liptak's parents have now filed a lawsuit against Mease Countryside Hospital and her doctors, claiming a series of mistakes and a dangerous mix of drugs led to her death.

The medical negligence suit, filed last month in Circuit Court in Pinellas County, seeks compensation for mental pain and suffering and medical and funeral costs. The parents are now speaking out, offering new details about what occurred the day Carly died.

A man who was elected to direct a California water agency was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse after a neighbor caught him on video beating his stepson.

The video shows Anthony Sanchez, 34, playing catch with his stepson. When it appears the boy drops the baseball, Sanchez approaches and allegedly whips him with his belt.

An outraged neighbor, Oscar Lopez, filmed the incident from inside his home and knew he had to step in.

“That’s enough. I’m having a (expletive) problem with you for beating the (expletive) out of him because he won’t catch the damn ball,” Lopez tells the angry stepfather.

18 rescued in child pornography raids, feds say

(CNN) -- Eighteen victims of child pornography were rescued during a nationwide sweep by federal law enforcement agencies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Friday.

The sweep, dubbed Operation Orion, resulted in the arrests of 190 individuals. Most of them were in the U.S., but some were in Argentina, the Philippines, Spain and the United Kingdom, ICE said in a news release. The operation took place from May 1 to May 31.

Those poor children. So glad the arrests were made. Unfortunately, there are so many more out there. There is no way I would allow my child/now grandchildren unsupervised access to the Internet. Problem is, kids can go elsewhere and gain access, even if their parents have rules.

FBI warns of malware targeting travelers

Here's how it works. The FBI says when laptops log onto a hotel's wireless Internet connection, malware can piggyback on the connection. The malware then brings up a pop-up window saying the computer needs an update. Clicking on the pop-up brings nothing but trouble and most travelers don't even know it is happening.

"Never would have thought of it, I mean that has always been a convenience to access the Wi-Fi," said Dawson.

The FBI says travelers should not update their laptop software while on the road, something local computer experts say is good advice.

on charges of first-degree murder, arson, criminal mischief, reckless
endangerment and assault. Her bail was set at one million dollars.


Gina Virgilio, her hands shackled behind her, could barely reach the microphone in the Anchorage jail courtroom Monday to tell the judge yes, she needed a lawyer to defend against charges of murder and arson.

Virgilio, a slight 25-year-old, is accused of killing her fiance early Friday by pouring gasoline around him as he slept in their East Anchorage apartment, then setting it ablaze.

Michael Gonzalez, who turned 24 the day before he died, was a line cook at Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria. Relatives said he loved Virgilio and her little boy. Virgilio was a child care worker in Muldoon, her mother said. She told the judge she only made $5,000 in the last year. He appointed a public defender.

District Judge James Hanley set Virgilio's bail at $1 million, plus a court-approved custodian, and forbid her from possessing matches or a lighter. At the request of the prosecutor, the judge also forbid her from having contact with any witnesses, including her mother, but said that could be revisited later.

This is a story I posted on THM and wanted to share it on here with hoping someone may see this girl and turn her in. This case really affected alot of the younger kids here in Ellis county cause the the girl that was murdered knew kids in Ennis and Waxahachie and they all were shocked that she was murdered by someone she knew. DPS is turning up the heat and are the lookout for Jennifer Fuentes which is the girl that is accussed of murdering Moriah Gonzales. They caught the guy that was involved but the family will not get any justice until the one that planned and carried it out is caught. I did not know either one but work with one of the mothers that was friends of the girl that was murdered and this case really is hard for sure not just on the kids but the mothers too. Jennifer was 18 and Moriah was 15. Also Moriah had lost a sister 6 months to the day of her death to a drug reaction so her parents lost 2 daughters in such a short time. This family really needs justice soon and the pictures on the Waxahachie Daily light, my home town newspaper, during the death and funeral of the girl was heart breaking. Her mothers eyes were soo swollen from crying that it makes you want to go out and hunting down the people responsiable for all that heartache.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the Lincoln County Department of Social Services was called to the Levine Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center for a critically injured infant.

Deputies say the 7-week-old girl was admitted with a skull fracture, brain bleeding and broken ribs. She was put into the intensive care unit at the hospital.

This happened in a little town about 15 miles from me. I hope this dad stays in jail for ever.

Marcia, I saw this on NG & was a little confused as to the relatiionship as far as closeness with the Uncle & niece since the niece had gone to visit him, her mom was on didn't clear anything up & didn't know why the uncle committed suicide. Many unanswered questions & definitely hinky.

Read a few more articles online about missing teen Brittney Wood. Not much more info, other than her cell phone was found at the location of where the uncle, his wife and their children had been staying. One person claims voice messages had been erased from the phone.

TUCSON - Wednesday marks two weeks since the now 16-year-old Brooke White went missing. The teen's mother says Brooke's birthday was Monday.

She's believed to be with Todd Hezlitt, the former Altar Valley wrestling coach criminally charged with having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Brooke's Church in Three Points held a vigil for her friends and family in her honor.

Her father, Brian White, says the community support and prayer has been helpful. All he now wants, is his daughter to return home.

"This is a 38-year-old man who is taking advantage of a 15-year-old girl. As a father, I'm controlling myself and I will continue to do so, but he needs to bring her home."

Des Moines Iowa.

Neighbor attempted to run over another neighbor who was riding a bike. The bike rider managed to avoid being hit by the vehicle, so the driver stopped, got out of the vehicle and shot the bike rider. The bike rider knocked on the door of another neighbor, reported he had been shot and asked the person to call for help. He then went back to the side of the street and yelled at his wife to hurry up and bring him a beer.
Both men are 56 yrs old.

Shaking my head.. what a story... Makes no sense to me.
