Did I kill my wife? No, I didn't. I really didn't.

That tells it all.
If someone did not do something, why the need to reaffirm, to try to convince?

Save the death penalty

CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

Debra J. Saunders
Updated 9:10 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012

Recently, Editorial Page Editor John Diaz asked Mark Klaas if he expects to feel closure if California executes Richard Allen Davis, the man who kidnapped, toyed with and then killed Klaas' 12-year-old daughter, Polly, in 1993. A jury found Davis guilty and sentenced him to death in 1996. From the early days after Davis snatched Polly from a Petaluma slumber party, Klaas has been a highly visible advocate for strong laws to protect the public, especially children, from career criminals and predators like Davis. He had come to The Chronicle with other opponents of Proposition 34, the ballot measure that would end California's death penalty and resentence California's 700-plus death-row inmates to life without parole.

Klaas' answer may surprise you. He sadly shook his head and answered, "Is it going to bring any closure to me? No."

But, Klaas added, Davis "will no longer be able to run his website." Young girls no longer will write to him.

It turns out the Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty hosts a Richard Allen Davis home page, on which the convicted killer displays "hand-painted wood hobby craft items," which he made, and posts photos of himself. Davis also wonders if there's anyone out there who wants to know who he really is, and "if for someone like myself, can one ever fall back in love with life again?"

Someone needs to cut off this former mayor's Viagara use!
Wow. Hormones gone rampaging!

Martin Millar, former South Palm Beach mayor, arrested on aggravated battery charges

" A few minutes after arriving at the other club, the unidentified man told police he received a text message from a friend stating Millar was en route to the club and "wanted to kill" him, according to the report.

The manager of the Dirty Martini said he witnessed "an elderly man," later identified as Millar, walk up to the man and jab him in the side of his neck with "an object that flashed." The manager told police he believed it was a Taser.

When police arrived at the scene, they said Millar was rolling on the ground, yelling that he was being attacked.

When Millar was read his Miranda Rights, the arrest report states he continuously interrupted officers and was stating his Miranda Rights with them in a mocking fashion.

According to the report, he advised the arresting officer that he was a former police officer and was going to "signal 5" the victim -- a term used by police to mean "murder."

48 HOURS MYSTERY

Is the case against Bruce Beresford-Redman falling apart?

Bruce and Monica Beresford-Redman (David and Juanita Beresford-Redman)

Produced by Paul LaRosa, Joshua Yager Ana Real, Ira Sutow, James Stolz, Alec Sirken and Avi Cohen

In February, "48 Hours" went inside a Mexican prison for the only interview with Bruce Beresford-Redman, the American television producer accused of murdering his wife, Monica. The interview, recorded on a smart phone, is raw and gritty.

Now, Beresford-Redman talks with "48 Hours" again in a new interview from behind bars as his trial remarkably enters its seventh month. The question is - is the case against him falling apart?

For more than seven months, American Bruce Beresford-Redman, once a highly regarded reality TV producer, has been a prisoner in Mexico.

"I've been here...almost seven months now...and I've been on trial that whole time and there's no evidence. It's very hard for me to understand why I'm still in jail," Bruce told "48 Hours" during a recent interview by phone.

It's a painful reality for Bruce's anxious parents and his two young children.

"In many ways, they're doing beautifully but they never forget about... their dad and their mom, but mostly about Bruce. They want him home so badly," Bruce's mother, Juanita Beresford -Redman told "48 Hours."

By Clayton Holloway, Content Editor

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- Two 13-year-old Wisconsin boys are charged with using a hatchet and hammer to kill one boy's great-grandmother while stealing jewelry and a car from her home.

Both teens appeared Friday in Sheboygan County court and were ordered held on $1 million bond each on charges of party to first-degree intentional homicide.

Prosecutor Joe DeCecco says 78-year-old Barbara Olson's great-grandson and another boy went to her home Monday to steal from her and kill her. Authorities say Olson was killed and her body left in the garage, where it was discovered by her daughter Wednesday.

Mother Sues Tulsa Megachurch Over Rape Allegation

TULSA, Okla. September 23, 2012 (AP)
Developing Stories - Page 19 R-VICTORY-CHURCH-large

The mother of a 13-year-old girl allegedly raped at a Tulsa megachurch is suing the church for waiting two weeks to report the allegation.

The lawsuit — first reported by the Tulsa World — was filed Friday in Tulsa County District Court. It seeks more than $75,000 and alleges that Victory Christian Center officials tried to conceal the allegation in an effort at "damage control."

Former church employee Chris Denman is charged with raping the girl before a church service Aug. 13.

Clearwater mother, her two children found dead in their home

By John Woodrow Cox, Time Staff Writer
John Woodrow CoxTampa Bay Times In Print: Sunday, September 23, 2012

CLEARWATER — William Lavold thought it was a bad joke or a poorly worded expression. Anything other than what it really was.

"I need your help," the text message said. "Dawn killed the kids."

It came from his best friend, Murphy Brown. And it meant exactly what it said.

Sometime Friday night, Brown's wife, Dawn, killed their two children — Zander, 9, and Zayden, 5 — authorities believe. They say she then wrapped an electrical cord around her throat, tied it to a ceiling fan and hanged herself.

Jill Meagher, 29, an Irish national who works as a unit co-ordinator at the ABC, was last seen leaving Bar Etiquette, in Sydney Road, about 1.30am after a night out with colleagues. Police believe she intended walking to her nearby home.

On Twitter, dozens of people posted or retweeted links to news stories, including ABC managing director Mark Scott, presenters Wil Anderson, John Safran, Leigh Sales, Francis Leach, Rafael Epstein, Libbi Gorr, Jenny Brockie and Tamara Oudyn, and the Twitter feeds for the broadcaster's respective programs.

This is terrible rush to judgement by the LE. They allowed others into the crime scene BEFORE collecting any evidence. Besides, with the poverty level this family was living due to poor financial decisions, why would the father be out playing poker at that time of night?? Who sends a text message to a friend rather than calling PD when children/spouse are found dead? And if they were struggling with bills, why does he pay for a cell phone? Why didn't he wash a few dishes, mow a yard, etc.?If he had gas to get to the casino, I am sure he had gas to get to the PD. (Borrow a cup of dish soap, borrow a lawnmower from a neighbor, etc. Such a sweet guy neighbors would have helped him out.)

Like to hear of the autopsy reports on the wife and the children. Also would like to know IF both children were found in bathtub together--- at their ages. Was there water in tub? Time of deaths? Time he sent message to his friend? Time he entered/left casino according to vids? Something is not right here. And it is bigger than a woman hanging herself from a ceiling fan when there is no power to the home.

A BRITISH schoolgirl who ran away to France with a married teacher was expected to return home while the arrested man was in prison awaiting extradition.

Jeremy Forrest, a 30-year-old maths teacher, was being held in the Gradignan prison in southwestern France after his arrest in Bordeaux on Friday on suspicion of abducting Megan Stammers.

He is awaiting a court hearing on Tuesday which will decide whether to extradite him to Britain, and he has said he will not oppose being handed over to British authorities, according to his lawyer Daniel Lalanne.

Forrest was seen on Friday evening in the corridor of a Bordeaux court without handcuffs and "a long face'', surrounded by police, a witness said.

Meanwhile, British media have reported that Stammers's mother Danielle Wilson has gone to Bordeaux to bring her home.

Johnny Lewis, an ex-boyfriend of singer Katy Perry known for his role in TV series Sons of Anarchy, either jumped or fell to his death after allegedly attacking the woman at her house in the Los Feliz neighbourhood east of Hollywood.

Neighbours heard a screaming woman mid-morning on Wednesday and alerted police, who found a woman dead inside the house, from blunt trauma.

She was later identified as Catherine Davis, who rented rooms to boarders.

Two other men received minor injuries after being attacked by Lewis in neighbouring properties, police said.

The actor's body was found outside on the driveway.

(CBS/AP) CLARK, N.J. - Police said they don't believe missing New Jersey teen Kara Alongi who tweeted about an intruder in her home is in any physical danger, The Star-Ledger of Newark reports.

The 16-year-old girl gained hundreds of followers after asking people on Twitter to call 911 on Sunday evening.

"There is somone in my hour ecall (sic) 911," her tweet said.

People re-tweeted her message and the hashtag "#helpfindkara" trended on the social network.

Police Chief Alan Scherb tells the newspaper that there was no sign of foul play in Alongi's Clark home.

"There was nothing disturbed inside the home," he told the Star-Ledger.

As of Monday morning, Sgt. Vincent Concina said Alongi is "still listed as missing" and that there were no developments in the overnight search efforts, the Star-Ledger reports.

Clark teenager Kara Alongi (right) sent out a tweet last night that someone was in her home, pictured on the left. Police are still searching for her.

Clark - The Clark teenager who tweeted Sunday night that someone was in her house and implored her followers to call 911 likely left her home voluntarily, township police said this morning.

Kara Alongi's disappearance is now being investigated as that of a runaway juvenile, Clark police chief Alan Scherb said.

Her parents returned home around 7:20 p.m. and called police, about an hour after the Arthur L. Johnson High School student tweeted, "There is somone in my hour ecall 911."

Alexandra Kogut, an 18-year-old College of Brockport student, was found dead in her dormitory Saturday morning. Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Clayton S. Whittemore, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, according to local NBC affiliate KSEE 24.

In his arraignment Saturday morning, Whittemore plead not guilty, according to the Star Gazette. Reports say he admitted to causing the death.

She was found after a welfare check prompted by her mother's call to campus police. Police arrested Whittemore in Dewitt, N.Y. at approximately 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

I have been following this case. Poor little gal. They have charged Mark Bridger with murder. Search teams are still committed to looking for April. Unfortunately, the river Dify is flooded and very swollen. I really think this poor child ended up in the river. My heart breaks for her family. Sad

The body of Justin Kowalczik, just 17 months old when he died, was found in the back yard of a Long Island home Saturday.

An infant was found dead and buried in a Long Island back yard -- and his parents never reported him missing.

The body of 17-month-old Justin Kowalczik was unearthed Saturday at the home of a Farmingdale, NY mother of three, according to the New York Post. The mother's boyfriend, Robert Rodriguez, was immediately named as a person of interest in the case and is "not cooperating" with the investigation, officers told the paper.

The horrific find came after cops were called to check on the welfare of Rodriguez and Heather Kowalczik's 6-year-old son with autism, Alex. He and another of Kowalczik's sons, 9-year-old Robert Jr., were found to be fine.

APRIL JONES MAY NEVER BE FOUND, ADMIT POLICE

Wednesday October 10,2012
By John Chapman

THE parents of missing five-year-old April Jones were in despair last night as police admitted they may never find the little girl’s body.

On the seventh day since her disappearance, Superintendent Ian John, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said:

“We have to prepare for the time when we accept we might never find April.”

Police fear her body may have been swept out to the Irish Sea by the fast-flowing and flooded River Dyfi.

The river flows by April’ mid-Wales home town Machynlleth.

Investigation continues into Desilets death

Court documents remain impounded

By Sandy Quadros Bowles

The death of Princeton resident Kathleen Desilets remains under investigation by Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early’s office.

Desilets, 65, was found Dec. 6 a distance beneath a third-story window of her Worcester Road home. She was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

She died from blunt force trauma, the medical examiner determined.

The district attorney’s office was granted another three-month extension Wednesday, Oct. 10, on the impoundment of court documents related to her death Dec. 6. Court documents related to the case have been impounded at Leominster District Court since December.

Judge keeps documents sealed in Princeton woman's death last year

By Linda Bock TELEGRAM & GAZETTE
lbock@telegram.com

LEOMINSTER — A district court judge has denied a request by the Telegram & Gazette for documents related to a Dec. 6 search of a Princeton home where a woman was found dead.

Kathleen M. Desilets was found on the front lawn of her home at 20 Worcester Road, Princeton, in the middle of the night Dec. 6, 2011.

Documents and affidavits in support of search warrants obtained by police have been impounded at the request of District Attorney Joseph D. Early.

The Telegram & Gazette this week asked a judge to unseal the documents, saying they were public and that prosecutors had no reason to seek their continued impoundment.

But in a one-page ruling, Judge Mark E. Noonan said the district attorney met its burden for continued impoundment. The judge ordered that the documents remain sealed 60 days, through Dec. 15.

DOVER, N.H. (AP) — A martial arts instructor active in community theater was charged Saturday in the death of a 19-year-old University of New Hampshire student who disappeared days earlier.

Elizabeth ‘‘Lizzi’’ Marriott, a marine biology major who volunteered at the New England Aquarium, is believed to be dead and law enforcement officials continued to search for her body, Assistant Attorney General James Vara said Saturday.

Seth Mazzaglia, 29, of Dover, who’s charged with second-degree murder, knew Marriott, Vara said, but he declined to say how or what led to Mazzaglia’s arrest. He said police had ‘‘credible’’ information leading them to believe Marriott is dead, though he wouldn’t elaborate.

‘‘This is the worst parents nightmare, a missing child and with an unfavorable outcome,’ Marriott’s family said in a statement Saturday. The family asked for prayers for rescue personnel who are looking for their daughter, saying they need to ‘‘bring her home.’’

Student's killing appears unjustified, lawyer says

By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 9:28 PM EDT, Thu October 11, 2012

(CNN) -- The shooting of an unarmed and naked Alabama university student killed in a late-night confrontation with a campus police officer appears to be unjustified, the lawyer for the young man's family said Thursday.

Part of the brief incident Saturday night that led to the death of 18-year-old Gilbert Thomas Collar of Wetumpka, Alabama, was captured on a surveillance camera outside the University of South Alabama police station.

The video has not yet been viewed by reporters or the public, but the Collar family's attorney, Jere Beasley, said, "There is nothing on the surveillance tape that justifies the use of deadly force."

A Bradley doctor is dead and his wife in stable condition after a stabbing that frustrated officials say could have been prevented.

Kankakee police say they were called to the intersection of West Court Street and South Curtis Avenue early Friday. There they found Phillip L. Horrell, 35, who they say told them that he'd killed two people.

Officials say Horrell didn't serve a full prison sentence and was released just two days ago.

"For my office, it's very, very frustrating to know that we have done what we're supposed to do, which is to seek appropriate sentences for crimes. This was twice the amount he had received in the past for his most serious offense. It was a mandatory prison term case because of his criminal history, and the Illinois Department of Corrections let him out. I know this: had he served the full eight-year term, we would have avoided this tragedy today," said Kankakee County State's Attorney Jamie Boyd.

Alexis Wright allegedly ran a prostitution ring from her fitness studio in Kennebunk, Maine.

KENNEBUNK, Maine — Residents of this seaside community will have to wait at least the weekend to learn which of their friends and neighbors stand accused of giving business to a fitness instructor charged with running a prostitution operation out of her Zumba studio.

The police department declined Friday to release any of the more than 150 names of suspected clients because of an appeal pending before the state supreme court.

The delay prolongs the agony for town residents, who have heard that the list of could include lawyers, law enforcement officers and some well-known people.

"We're hearing that there are selectmen, there are policemen, that there are firemen – people that we're going to know in town," said Elaine Nicholson. "So everyone is, like, waiting with bated breath."

Mystery surrounds graves at boys' reform school

By Rich Phillips, CNN
updated 6:36 AM EDT, Mon October 15, 2012

•In 2009, Florida determined that 31 boys buried at a reform school were fire, flu victims
•Today, investigators have found 18 more graves at the same site
The team believes there's another grave where black students may have been buried
•The state has remained mum on the new findings

Marianna, Florida (CNN) -- This Florida panhandle town is the home of a mystery that has been lost to time.

A small cemetery buried deep into the grounds of a now-defunct boys reform school dates back to the early 1900s. Rusting white steel crosses mark the graves of 31 unidentified former students.

Former students said the deaths were at the hands of abusive administrators, but a 2009 state investigation determined there was no evidence of criminal activity connected with any of the deaths or of abusive treatment.

But the investigation did not clear up the mystery over the fate of 50 other students who died at the school and whose bodies have not been accounted for.

Developing Stories - Page 19 Empty TJ Murray Missing - 10/19/2011

Post by Ann - Tx Thu Oct 18, 2012 1:49 am

TJ Murray Missing -- 10/19/2011

Friday, October 19, 2012, will be one year that TJ Murray, a Sam Houston State University student, went missing in The Woodlands/Spring, TX area (north of Houston).

Earlier in the evening of October 18, 2011, TJ umpired a Little League ballgame. Afterwards, he met some friends at a sports bar in The Woodlands/Spring, TX area and per his mother, he and his friends were going to watch the first game of The World Series. TJ was last seen at Rookie's Sports Bar. The next day his cell phone was found in a ditch nearby and his dad's truck (he was using his dad's truck that night) was in the parking lot. There has been no activity on any of his accounts. Shortly after TJ went missing, Texas EquuSearch (TES) did extensive searches with their trained members to no avail.

One of TJ's brothers drowned in the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, TX in July, 2012. In less than a year, the Murray's lost two of their sons. Very tragic!

TJ has not been found and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - Conroe, TX (MCSO) suspects foul play.

One thing is for certain: Some one knows what happened to TJ. He, she or they need to come forward, do the right thing and contact MCSO. Put an end to this. Tell MCSO where TJ Murray can be found so that he can be brought home to his loving family for a proper burial.

Please light a candle for TJ Murray and remember him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Neighbors help, hope to find Whitney Heichel .

GRESHAM, Ore. -- Many in Gresham who know Whitney Heichel, and others who have never met her, are ready to help find her.

Friday night police were asking them to keep away from the search scene, so they were doing whatever they could to raise awareness.

At the Real Time Coffee Chop in Gresham, Mandy Hutchinson changed the sign on her reader board. Instead of advertising pumpkin lattes it now reads “Bring Whitney Home.” It also advertises the tip line phone number. Whitney applied for work at Real Time and stopped for coffee nearly every day. Her parents are regular customers too.
