LAFAYETTE — Citing a drop in the number of tips received in the disappearance of Michaela “Mickey” Shunick, Lafayette police have opted to no longer man a dedicated tips line around the clock.

As of 7 p.m. Friday, an answering machine will record all tips regarding the Shunick case for calls directed to the tips line at (337) 291-8633, police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton said Friday.

Also, there has been a lot of confusion lately regarding Mickey's piercings. Mickey has a nose ring and both of her ears are pierced. She also had a lip ring at one time. However she does NOT have any of the piercings that were found on the body recovered from Bay St. Louis.

There have been a lot of donations and money raised from various fund raising events. If I were the Shunick family, I would seriously try to get the Reward up to $100,000.

I doubt if any one is going to talk for $25,000. Just my opinion!

Some one knows what happened to Mickey. They need to do the right thing and come forward with the info.
