SWEETWATER, Texas -- A special prosecutor will be brought in to handle the prosecution of prominent Big Country attorney John Young after he allegedly pulled a gun on a Sweetwater police officer in June.

Young has not been indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is free after posting bail on a $12,000 bond.

One of the lead investigators into the disappearance of Colorado City 13-year-old Hailey Dunn says internet rumors have been one of the biggest hindrances for detectives looking into the case.
In an interview with the Colorado City Record, Detective Kelsey Alexander of the Colorado City Police Department said rumors slow the investigation by forcing officers to confirm or discredit information.

Hope for Hailey Volunteers Still Looking for Teen, Set Vigil

Hope for Hailey organizers are still looking for the missing Colorado City teenager.

Later this month marks the 8 month anniversary of her disappearance and her 14th birthday. Dunn was reported missing on Dec. 28 by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn, after being last seen on Dec. 27 by her mother's former boyfriend, Shawn Adkins.

Hope for Hailey volunteers are planning to mark the anniversary (Aug. 27) and teen's birthday (Aug. 28) with a prayer vigil and balloon release on Aug. 27. The vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Hailey's Hope located at 18th Street and Chestnut, which is across the street from Hailey's home. Those attending are asked to write a note of hope and attach it to a balloon.

COLORADO CITY —Balloons will be released tonight across the street from the home where Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn lived before being reported missing Dec. 28.

The organization Hope for Hailey organized the event, which also will include a prayer vigil.

On this date eight months ago, the teen reportedly was seen in the community. Her mother, Billie Jean Dunn, reported her daughter missing to law authorities the next day. Sunday would be the Colorado Middle School student's 14th birthday.

ABILENE — An hour before Colorado City's football team took the field in Abilene, a handful of people met to remember the town's most recognized cheerleader.

Across the street from her house, hundreds of stuffed animals on display showed just how long Hailey Dunn has been gone.

A faded plush Christmas tree, bears clutching red Valentine's Day hearts and a doll with "Happy Easter" on its shirt chronicle the months since her disappearance.

Courtney Gutierrez, a member of Hope for Hailey, was one of the organizers at Saturday's balloon release.

"It's a nice idea," Gutierrez said about the stuffed animals, "but it's depressing to see them weathered and matted."

It has been exactly eight months since she was reported missing by her mother, but still, there is no trace of Colorado City teen who would have been 14 years old today.

On Dec. 28, Hailey Darlene Dunn, 13, was reported missing by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn. Billie Jean’s live-in boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, was the last person to see Hailey alive. He has been named the prime suspect in the case, but, as yet, no arrests have been made.

Eight months and they have not found anything yet!! Ann, do you think Billie's BF, Adkins, had something to do with her disappearance? Are they still together?

sitemama, Shawn Adkins is the only named suspect in the Hailey Dunn case. Yes, I think he raped and killed Hailey. Hailey's maternal grandmother was on a Radio Show and said the same thing. The link is posted up-thread, probably many pages up-thread.

I think Billie Jean Dunn helped in the cover up and knows what happened to Hailey. This is just my opinion.

There is an interesting article that Peter Hyatt of Statement Analysis wrote a long time ago. It is posted on one of the earlier pages of this thread. I think it is titled "Hailey is dead." I really don't recall the exact title.

Billie Jean Dunn moved from Colorado City to Travis County. It is rumored she is living in the Austin, Tx. area. She is on one year probation and her probation was transferred to Travis County. Shortly after Dunn's move, it was reported that Shawn Adkins would be moving also.

Adkins and Dunn came from Travis County to attend the vigil. He and Dunn were at the Vigil on Saturday. The assumption can be made that he and Dunn are living together again in Travis County. The older woman with her young "boy" toy!

The case involving the discovery of nearly 109,000 pornographic images on devices seized during the search for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn has not been presented to a grand jury, and law enforcement officials say they're not sure when it will be.

Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said Tuesday that J. Bruce Flournoy, a deputy with the Garza County Sheriff's Office, is still analyzing the data, including images of child pornography and bestiality, on the seized devices. Toombs said that during the most recent meeting of the investigation task force, Flournoy did not indicate how much longer his analysis would take.

Toombs said officials also are waiting for results from several devices being analyzed by the FBI in Dallas.

Hailey Dunn has been missing from Colorado City since late December.

Maybe they should just arrest everyone living in both homes and charge all of them for possessing the pornographic material. At least they will get the guilty party/parties.

The then 13-year-old vanished from the small town in December 2010. Since that time, authorities and searchers have been trying to track her down.

COAHOMA- It was late December of last year when Hailey Dunn suddenly went missing from her Colorado City home. Search parties were called off this July, and the case has appeared to have gone cold. However, a group of Coahoma teens are planning to change that.

"I don't know how it happened. It doesn't seem real," Cheerleader, Shea Campbell, said. For her, the disappearance of Hailey is still very hard to deal with.

What made them change it now, 9+ months later?

Julie, Hailey Dunn was not listed on the FBI list when she went missing.

It is my understanding that phone calls to the FBI and to the new police chief in Colorado City, Tx about getting Hailey Dunn on the FBI's list resulted in Hailey Dunn being put on the list and a $15,000 reward, offered by the FBI, in addition to the $15,000 award offered in Tx.

Also, it is my understanding that Billie Jean Dunn continues to "float" her stories (lies) on Facebook. If so, this does not surprise me.

I had a nerve wracking experience when I was summoned to CBS 7 to appear last Tuesday on Mike Barker’s 4:30 p.m. broadcast “A Closer Look.”

But the reason I was there far outweighed my fear of TV and I was happy to offer up comments and info on the case of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

I must admit I was baffled that the FBI had suddenly come out about a week prior listing her as a possible kidnap victim.

As I told Mike Barker before the show, I did not think the designation of “kidnapped” was accurate. I mean, this child vanished without a trace on Dec. 27, 2010.

The last time Macy Daniels saw her friend Hailey Dunn was December 27, 2010.

"I was at the [middle school] basketball court, and I was walking home from the basketball court to the hamburger shop and I'd seen her. We talked for a minute, but then she took off [in the direction of her home]," said Daniels.

A Sweetwater attorney indicted Tuesday by a Nolan County grand jury on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon said he will keep practicing law until his case is resolved.

John Stacy Young, 51, is accused of threatening Sweetwater Police officer Danny Heine with bodily injury on June 13. During the assault, Young is accused pulling a 9mm handgun on Heine.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — No indication of foul play was found in an autopsy on the body of Kenneth Hunn, a 22-year-old San Angelo man found dead in Lake Nasworthy on July 31.

"The case is inactive at this point unless something was to develop that we're unaware of," San Angelo Police Lt. Tracy Fincher said.

San Angelo police were called to the 1900 block of Beaty Road about 2:43 p.m. on the last Sunday in July after the body was reported floating in the water near a retaining wall.

Her family, including Hailey's grandmother, Connie Jones, is still desperate for her return.

Jones says Hailey showed no signs of wanting to run away. Billboards are stationed for miles around Colorado City, and fliers have been put up from Lubbock to Mexico in an effort to bring the teen home safely.

Hailey's grandmother says the holidays have been tough without Hailey, but she hasn't given up hope.

Most of Hailey's family has moved away, changing their phone numbers, including Hailey's mother Billie - who now lives in Austin with her boyfriend, Shawn Adkins. Adkins was also the last person to see Hailey alive.
