sitemama wrote:He killed her on March 11, 1981 and we went to trial first week of Sept. He actually was responsible for the deaths of 2 other ppl. A little boy, 12 years old, broke into the house Kim was killed in, and the police said all the blood tramatized him so bad, he went into a little girl's house (who he liked, and asked her to be his girl friend,) and when she said no, he grabbed a knife in her kitchen and stabbed her to death.
Then in Sept. his defense team subpoenaed my aunt to testify for him. She suffered from that disease where she couldn't go out of her house. She was served with the papers on Friday, and had a heart attack that same day.
On Tuesday, (we were off for Labor Day), they called her name 3 times and I had to stand and tell the judge that her funeral was the day before.
So heartbreaking one individual could leave so many victims in his wake.
I am so sorry for your loss, Mama!

Well, nothing personal, Alyce, but we really do not want you to EVER be involved in working with REAL domestic violence victims, okay? Nothing personal, lady, but we just don't think you are fair and unbiased in your half-ass opinions, ok? Have a good day, ya' hear?
Love your comments Calypso & Freckles!

DSM-4:
Wilmot specifically is discussing battered women, NOT battered persons; Wilmot calls it "battered women syndrome."
@18:01 begins her statements re when she uses the DSM4. Says she "...only uses it for clients who need to ... have a description on their insurance form. ... A lot of therapists... we use it... we look at it...we reference that but it is...basically used, uhm, ... also the diagnosis are used to enable people to collect on their insurance." Says battered women is NOT in the DSM4.

" ... ... has been communicating with hundreds of followers via her Twitter account since February.
The account is managed by Arias' friend, Donavan Bering, who updates the account with messages from Arias after speaking to the accused killer on the phone, the station reported.
Some of the tweets are believed to be directed at Juan Martinez, the prosecutor in Arias' murder trial. Martinez has attempted to portray Arias as a manipulative liar.
"Hmm... Anger Management problems anyone?," reads one of the tweets on the account. Another tweet reads, "Those afflicted with Little Man's Syndrome taint society's perception of genuinely good men who happen to be vertically challenged."
On Wednesday night, Bering reportedly posted a link to Arias' personal website, where she is selling and holding auctions for artwork."

So. This is what she is busy crafting in her little book while in court, right? She is still hanging with this Donovon man?
What losers! And she hands the book off to someone who hands it to her mother or to Donovon, or to the mitigation specialist? Tell me her attorneys aren't aware!
Dirty, schemers! May they ALL go down!

I noticed a few minutes ago, they only need 26 more signatures. If you haven't signed, please do so. I am very opposed to DV, as my daughter was murdered by her estranged husband, and it was as brutal and bloody as this case, except he didn't use a gun, just 4 knives, and after 50 stab wounds, he broke all 4 blades off in side of her. He also admitted to doing it, and said he must have done it, but he could not remember anything about that night once he broke into her house. He was only found guilty of Vol. Manslaughter. I remember someone asking if she could be found innocent even though she admitted doing it, I think the jury would never find her not guilty, but they could bring back a lesser verdict. I hope not, but it happened in our case and I thought we would get a 1st degree verdict.[/quote]
Sitemama, I am so saddened by and so sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing your story, and for all you do. The world is blessed to have you.
Please keep us informed of anything we can do for victims and their families, that we may harness our outrage and turn what feels like helplessness into healing.

Testimony resumes in Jodi Arias murder trial
"LaViolette later noted how Travis Alexander may have made such comments, but he did so while continuing to invite Arias over sex. She explained that was not the behavior of a man who feared for his life."
No, it's a behavior of a man that is more or less fed up with a girl but enjoys having sex with her as she's good at it and/or because he is supposed to be a virgin for his church.
As I understood, TA was very flirtatious but I'm not sure he had many real sexual relationships.
Hormones were taking their toll, he had to find a way to calm them down without officially betraying his faith in front of his community.
I know, and it's understandable, that many women have some difficulties to believe that most men usually can have sex without loving, but that's a fact.
And that does not deserve death. Just possibly forget about them.

Jodi Arias operating Twitter page from jail with outside help
Apr 10, 2013 9:19 p.m.
A Fox 10 Exclusive PHOENIX - Jodi Arias is at the center of one of the highest profile murder trials the valley has ever seen. And now she's tweeting from behind bars.
FOX 10 News has learned that Jodi Arias is operating her own Twitter page from jail, communicating with hundreds of followers -- mocking the prosecutor and even taking shots at cable host Nancy Grace.
The last tweet went out Tuesday night to her more than 500 followers.
"No boyfriend. Enough of that rumor." And "God bless five day weekends." Sounds like any normal person tweeting about their lives. But the person behind these tweets is the most famous defendant in the world.

Re: Jodi Arias--Trial for the murder of Travis Alexander #12
Hi, I'm new here, but have been following the trial pretty much from the beginning, although I missed quite a bit of it. Thanks for the forum and all the interestng posts!
I just have to say how irritated I am that Wilmott and LaViolette keep saying that Jodi's lies "at 14" have nothing to do with a "pattern" and were just usual teenage behavior, which completely ignore the fact that what her father actually said was that "we haven't been able to believe anything she said since she was 14."
Add to that, nothing Juan Martinez said made at all a dent in LaViolette's stubborn belief in Jodi's truthfulness and Travis' ratfulness. She really gave herself away when JM asked her if there was anything he could say that would convince her Travis wasn't as she had characterized him and she said "no." So it's OK to say that Jodi can be abused and still want to see him, but it couldn't possibly be the other way around. She did catch herself there, and say "Well there are periods of time when abused people are not in fear of the partner," but it was way too late by then.
What an incredibly biased "witness." At first, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured she was just doing her job, but after her nonsense telling JM that she would put him in time out if he was in her "group," any respect I had for her went completely down the drain. I want her off the stand in the worst way - after the jury pummels her with their questions, that is.

Through Donavan, Jodi has been using Twitter to go after prosecutor Juan Martinez.
Tweeting, "Hmm... Anger Management problems anyone?" -- "He who tries to establish his point by much yelling shows that his reasoning is weak." And -- "Those afflicted with Little Man's Syndrome taint society's perception of genuinely good men who happen to be vertically challenged."
Jodi's problem with her hubris has given her away many times. She can't help herself from being smug and it showed from the stand as well as when she's on the sidelines. Snicker away, Jodi, you may be able to fool some of the people, but I think you are in front of a jury who will have no qualms convicting you - mark my words, smartazz.

We are on re-direct by the defense.

Someone pointed out there must be about 200 questions.

Jodi Arias reportedly tweeting from behind bars
April 4, 2013: Jodi Arias stands and looks as the jury is excused
for the lunch break during her trial at Maricopa County Superior
Court in Phoenix. (AP)
" ... ... has been communicating with hundreds of followers via her Twitter account since February.
I detect a BIG blog war starting... Just what we don't need.
I think what bothers me at this point as much as listening to the DT and their really obnoxious and unprofessional witnesses, is Jodi's completely cavalier and arrogant attitudes to this whole procedure. She smiles, laughs, and talks in court inappropriately, all accompanied by disdainful smirking at prosecution, victim's family, etc. She uses people, the system, and media to make personal insults against people like Juan Martinez, her own family, etc. She is actively marketing her artwork for profit...And these are just a few examples. I am so insulted by all of this, and can't imagine the impact it is having on Travis' family.
Every day of this trial, Jodi just exudes an arrogance and an attitude of superiority that says loud and clear, "No jury will ever convict me", as she did before, but now with "...and I'm going to be famous when this is all over", added to it. As Kik said so brilliantly, it makes me also want to hurl something at the TV. It brings out deep rage in me and I have an urge to smash her face in.
There is a huge difference between famous and infamous.
I desperately want to see, at the very least, Jodi brought to her knees with despair. I want to see members of Travis' family stand at a podium and look her straight in the face, and say the words of their hearts, for as long as they wish, and Jodi a captive audience, unable to run or walk, or escape in any way. She will probably portray a cold and contemptuous attitude, and so much the better---Let the jury and everyone present see how sick and soulless she truly is.
Hopefully all of the tricks she is pulling now, and what her reactions are later will have an influence on the mitigation part of her sentencing.
I once saw an antique sampler from the early 1800's with a verse that I had never heard and that brought tears to my eyes.
It read in part "...that mercy I to others show, that mercy show to me..."
I hope that there is no mitigation for Jodi, and no mercy shown her.
I tried to find out online, exactly what the court protocol is when a defendant is found guilty of 1st degree murder, but couldn't. I have heard some things over time, and I think that if the jury comes back with that, Jodi is immediately handcuffed in court, in full view of everyone, and has deputies at her sides. Small humiliation for such a heinous act.
I know that if this is the case, she will not long be at the jail she currently resides at. I think her life in a different facility, especially if on death row, will be vastly different, and well deserved.
I also tried to find out if now or later she is/would be allowed hair color and makeup. I couldn't find anything. I just wondered, given Jodi's preoccupation with those things. I have seen women prisoners on TV with those things. I hope Jodi will not have access to them. Those 'perks' IMO, do not belong in prison.
I long to see the contempt Jodi shows for everyone involved in this case wiped off her face. I want to see her beaten.
I hope and pray that whatever life she has is miserable in the extreme.

Anxiety attacks and palpitations... maybe that is why the court is humouring the d-team and making Juan use an inside voice. What hogwash! (lol that just reminded me of the pic of Nurmi...:rotfl: ) As far as the public speaking our minds that this woman is past her peak because of burnout (she is no longer effective or unbiased) I fail to see how we are creating a problem for the state. It is freedom of expression! If y'all can't take the heat then stay out of the kitchen... so that AL can understand... be open minded enough to actually hear that there are two sides and that possibly you made a mistake... or expect that people who are genuine victims of DV are going to fry your behind!

Edited to add this a joke not real. Typed it while they were at sidebar.
JM: Ma'am is the sky blue? Yes or no?
ALV: Well sometimes there can be gray or white clouds so I can't answer that.
JM: Was I asking about the clouds?
ALV: Well you said the sky which contains clouds so I can't answer.
JM: Ma'am excluding the clouds, is the sky blue yes or no?
ALV: Well at night the sky can be dark, black even so I can't answer
JM: Ma'am in the daytime without the clouds, is the sky blue, yes or no?
ALV: Well somedays there is gray and I can't see out the window right now...

Oh, boy, this is her to a T! If you hadn't said it was a joke, I bet 97% of us would have thought that was real dialogue at first glance.
And SO annoying!

Jodi tweeting from jail via some other stooge is just reprehensible... Yes I understand the innocent until proven guilty... but she has admitted she killed him.. so in my books not so damned innocent.. just saying!!
And Donavan if you are here reading this so you can report back to Hodi... tell her that I wish that she finds her special place in Hell soon!!

So sorry to hear this - how horrible!

Just saw the end of Juan's cross. I thought ending with the text from Travis saying Jodi was the "worst thing that ever happened to [him]", and ALV discounting it for all to hear was brilliant. Very powerful. One of those moments I hope the jury remembers.
I sure hope they have scathing questions for this witness.

And Donavan~
WHY are you running these twitters back and forth for her?
You think this endears you to her? She's just using you like she has so many other people,
you're not special. Once she is done with you, she'll drop you like a bad habit.
I think you need to be more selective with the friends you keep and who you align your loyalties to.

I think one has to work really hard at being dunderheaded to interpret Travis' exasperation as anything but. It's obvious, at least to me, that he was reacting to one of her heinous acts toward him, and that he didn't just randomly set out to blast her. Yet, every time the defense brings this up they are acting as though this text came out of the blue. And when they yack about Jodi "just going along with the sex" I wish the judge would make them play the WHOLE tape. Ya know, where Jodi is giggling and all. I know; I live in LaLa Land. Ain't gonna happen.
The defense is obligated to carry on as if they believe in their client, but when ALV refuses to believe anything except what Jodi told her, she just looks foolish.

So according to her own tweet, JA was giving "the finger" a "fu*k you" if you will in open court? Let's talk about what JA is doing in social media and not everyone else, after all she's the one on trial... She went after HLN's famous court watcher Nancy Grace. When Grace tweeted a picture of her that appeared to show her making an obscene gesture with her hand in court, she tweeted, "Actually Nancy, that finger was for you. Have a nice day." And "HLN is an acronym for Haters Love Negativity."

I find it so disturbing this woman chose to ignore a dead young mans own words about being fearful of the stalker who ultimately killed him. How does she sleep at night?
It's heartbreaking to me that she can be as indifferent as Jodi is to the suffering she has caused.

quoting from renatae...
"She really gave herself away when JM asked her if there was anything he could say that would convince her Travis wasn't as she had characterized him and she said "no.""
I missed alot of the afternoon session, did that really happen? WTH?

and AL going to Sam saying it's nothing personal... Really lady? This cuckoo b!tch slaughtered my brother, lied about him in the worse possible way and you sweared to it. How can that not be personal when if you took the blinders off you'd see there is proof of her being the abuser but since our side isn't paying you I wouldn't expect you to see it...
How many hours has AL been on the stand? So far she's made 11K just from her research...

Yes, bmore, she did! I can't remember the exact thing he was questioning her on, but he did say, "Is there anything I can say that would" something on the order of "change your mind" or "convince you" regarding her feelings about Travis. I think it was regarding whether or not he was a stalker or an abuser, but I'm not sure at this point. And her answer was the first time she gave a yes or no answer - "no."
IIRC, it was one of the last questions he had for her yesterday.

at the very end Jodi is looking back to the gallery... and then the guard takes a large folded paper out of his pocket. Is there any way that the guards are passing notes to the people in the gallery! I hope not... but he does take it out of his pocket and move away from Jodi... just wondering??

This woman is a poisonous vine making her way trough the courtroom , first she takes power away from the judge with her 4:30 end time and extra meal she hasn't needed for the past 5 years but does now. Then she got the court woman to pass notes to her mom, she got a juror kicked off the trial so now the other jurors have to tiptoe and mind their p's and q's. She found 2 suckers to throw away their careers defending her. She tried to control Travis's family wearing the purple ribbons and now she Wilmott looking extremely unprofessional and eating out of hand by talking , giggling and telling her when to object. Hopefully the jury is seeing what is taking place and finds her guilty. And all the people that have sacrificed so much for her will be kicked to the curb in search of fresh ones for her appeal.

Yes, I agree. As I said yersterday, she made this court her home. She enjoys everyone talking about her. Her wish would be to fire Judge Stephens to sit in her chair.

I was watching a crime/court show over the weekend, I can't remember the case but after the defendant testified a juror gave her a thumbs up when she stepped down right in the middle of court. they did the whole pull them aside, why did you do that? she said I thought she did a good job... they kept her on but ended up getting rid of some other one I think later on... They found her guilt of M1 I think, even the thumbs up juror turned against her int he end... lol

How blind is this bat??
WILLMOTT: The fact that somebody has a high I.Q. or talks about having a high I.Q., does that relate to them being -- having high self-esteem?
LAVIOLETTE: No.
WILLMOTT: And in speaking with -- the 44 hours that you spent talking with Miss Arias, did you get the sense that this high I.Q. somehow made her feel better about herself and gave her high self-esteem?
LAVIOLETTE: No, I did not get the impression at all that Miss Arias felt good about herself or proud of herself. No, I didn`t.

hmmm... I know i was hoping that JM would have something up his sleeve to say that TA didn't send some of those texts or that they didn't have sex as often as JA says... Having missed most of yesterday I wonder did he get AL in a position that he can bring anything like that out on rebutt? I know he doesn't want to tip his hand to the Dt but wouldn't he have needed to get AL to say something like well if some of the e-communication is fake and they didn't really have all this sex then yeah I can see where TA wasn't stringing her along and really did want her to go away but... I just don't know...

I know AL doesn't need to say it for JM to bring it in. I meant to discredit her testimony now that what she was basing it on was bunk... please, please, please have an ace up your sleeve because these b!tches play dirty....

I hope not, but it happened in our case and I thought we would get a 1st degree verdict.
I signed and just want to say I am so sorry you lost your daughter in that manner.. I can not even begin to imagine the horror of such, let alone having to endure a trial with such an appalling outcome. Our justice system really needs to be changed.

so at the end of court yesterday, where do we stand with JW being done with AL? I want juror questions... Since the one juror couldn't start till late today they should of came in early and went thru the bulk of the questions so we can just roll... Would of been efficient and smart but then again, that doesn't seem to be the way...

OK, I signed it. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Sitemama. This must have been a dreadful experience and very difficult to get through if that is ever even possible. I cannot even imagine how I could ever survive losing my daughter, and especially in such a horrific way. God bless you.

I don't think it's wise to coordinate outfits with a confessed killer to humanize her or whatever but I was thinking about KN and people busting on his outfits... I didn't see the socks yesterday but I know he tends to coordinate them with his tie and stuff... I think like Jeff Ashton it shows a fun side of the person. It would work better in KN's favor if he wasn't such a d!ck... I know everyone deserves representation but sexual offenders if there is proof you did it but are trying to avoid punishment... no, just no! If you were wrongly accused then yeah... But I don't think there is enough of the latter scenario to warrent a career... Looking at pervy pics, stories, etc... nope!!!!!
