Well folks I gotta say I was a little dissapointed that Nurmi's objection and immediate sidebar squelched Juan's attempt to further discredit Jodi's accusations about Travis being a pedophile. He said enough though, that led me to believe he is far from done with that topic. Also he gave us all,including Jodi, a preview of what is to come when BFF Matt takes the stand..will he lie for her now? Only if he has a hankering to do some time himself,I suppose,cause now I am convinced it was in fact Matt himself who wrote those statements on that blog..Juan would not have brought it up if he did not have the proof to back it up. Anyhoo I am hoping none of that even matters now cuz I do believe our prosecutor proved premeditation beyond a reasonable doubt yesterday with the gas receipts;bank statements and Walmart's return policy. There is only one logical reason why this chica would of needed a full tank and 15 extra gallons sitting in cans in her trunk and that is so there would be no proof of her ever having been anywhere near where a horrific murder went down. Had she just been off on a little adventure to visit friends she could of stopped anywhere to refill that rentals gas tank. BAM! He definitely nailed that one and I loved it.

IMO, Matt WILL have to take the stand.
Look at all Jodi has woven about him:

BF with benefits;
Cheated on her;
June 2008 trip;
Jodi continued relationship;
the MAGAZINES;
Pedo comments;
his comments on her fb saying he would lie for her;

April, 2008: JA supposedly told Matt about inappropriate behavior by Travis;
June, 2008: JA sees Matt, spends the night on her way to AZ to murder Travis;
July, 2008: After murdering Travis, JA moves to Yreka and then makes plans to join up with Matt in Monterrey. She was arrested hours before leaving on that trip.

Don't have dates for the pedo hearing for JA's accusations;Matt WAS involved in testifying there; magazine intercepted in which JA has coded instructions to Matt to lie for her.

Was Matt involved in the fake letter fraud attempting to implicate Travis? The letters the mother attempted to sell to National Enquirer??

Oh Matt will definitely testify in this case. I believe he is on the Defense witness list..the question is.. Will he lie for her? I highly doubt it,but if he does you can bet Juan will pull out proof of his statements online stating he will.

I am horrible with numbers so trying to recall dates is impossible for me if I don't have em written down..all you wrote above regarding Matt are thing's I do believe have been said in court so regardless of what he says.. his testimony is gonna be a very interesting watch. I personally am hoping for an admittance of having had sex with her since their breakup particularly during that lil stop over she took to his place before she went to Travis.

As for the fake letters..hmm I do not know if these were ever mentioned in court..not even sure they can be considering they were thrown out for being fake when the defense first presented them. I know very little about em actually except what I have read on here,but it is my understanding her mother tried to sell em..so do not know if she helped write em too..or if Matt had a hand in it or if it was all just Jodi. We may never know.

I don't think Nurmi squelched it! Juan continued, but stopped at a certain point and went to another topic. Hubby and I both looked at each other. This is the second or third time he has done this and I think it is most definitely deliberate and to keep her off balance. I think Juan has something in store for rebuttal; we have not heard the last of this; it's too important. Jodi has to be going nuts and worrying over what he may pull out of his hat!

As for Matt, no doubt this dude made some dumb decisions. He is married now, with kids. I said before and I'll say again, you can bet the prosecution sat him down and told him what the consequences would be if he kept up a lie, and also can you imagine the wife!??? He's saying he'll put his whole family in jeopardy and lie for another woman!??? Bet she threatened to walk out with the kids, "bye bye loser!"---I sure would have. Wouldn't look to good to his employers either. You can bet old Matt has seen the light! I predict some bombshells ahead...

Juan is not done with his cross---Got the distinct impression he stopped it right where he wanted to, to be continued Wed. (Start freaking out all weekend chica!!!)

WALMART!! Guys, that was the BEST! Her a-- is toast! She just dug in her heels insisting well, she got a cash refund! Stupid! No matter what you return at Walmart you have to go to the desk to do it and you have to fill out a slip AND sign it! NO GAS CAN RETURNED, PERIOD. Even when proven to have lied, this dumbass keeps lying! We loved that moment! Bet Jury did too. PREMEDITATION. The receipts for gas for 3 cans in SLC was the icing on the cake!

I am just so in awe and have such admiration for Juan; He makes Nurmi come across as a hack who is totally out of his league.

Gas cans from Wal Mart:

Talked with a friend in the know at Wal Mart.
Depending on the individual store, Wal Marts are turning more to refunds NOT in cash but on their own Wal Mart debit card. Especially if there is a refund without receipt.
Need to provide proper ID, sign for the card, etc. I am sure some of the "paper work" is done to keep track of the cards, ie, prevent employee theft, but t IS designed to keep track of "offenders", people who would repeatedly shop lift items and then return them hoping for cash.

Some stores are TOTALLY debit card exchange on returned items.

I do not know the policy of Salinas.

took me awhile to see it but after many a replay I finally saw a VERY subtle move by momma. She wasn't adjusting her glasses,Lady,just appeared that way at first,how anyone (sorry I can't recall who) spotted that immedietly is beyond my comprehension so gotta give em props for that one. I also paid more attention to Nurmi when I tuned HLN on to rewatch the fireworks of Juan (flippin AWESOME imo) and he is definitely using nostril signals. I guess when your stuck with a contradictoring mess such as this ya gotta pick out all the stops..I know the term is pull out all the stops but I feel the word pick fit much better considering...lol

Maybe "I always tried to cast Travis in a good light", or "I never made disparaging remarks about Travis behind his back" would have been more appropriate.

To add just a bit to this list:

The hearing that Matt testified at (referenced by the secret magazine codes) was in August 2011.

Jodi moved back to Yreka in April 2008 (not July 2008)

I believe JM can use the letters to impeach Matt's testimony if necessary "if" he has proof that Matt forged or was an accomplice in forging the letters. I have a feeling Matt may have struck a deal with the Pro's to avoid prosecution for illegal acts to aid Jodi's defense and will come clean that the pedo thing was manufactured for her defense. However, I'm sure Juan has the goods in some form or another to impeach Matt or he would not continue to taunt Jodi with him.

Seems to me that I remember the rental car Jodi was driving when arrested was a red Cobalt. Does anyone else remember the color. If so, that kind of blows the legitimacy of not wanting a red car because of JA's fears that red cars stand out and are pulled over more often (the excuse for requesting a white car when renting vehicle for her "love me or die" murder mission).

IMO, that is why the jury asked when she could be believed~~

I must have missed that part... how can she justify saying it happened over and over again if she already admitted it was a lie in front of the jury? why is the jury accepting the portentional scenario by asking questions about it if she herself said it's BS?

I believe JM can use the letters to impeach Matt's testimony if necessary "if" he has proof that Matt forged or was an accomplice in forging the letters. I have a feeling Matt may have struck a deal with the Pro's to avoid prosecution for illegal acts to aid Jodi's defense and will come clean that the pedo thing was manufactured for her defense. However, I'm sure Juan has the goods in some form or another to impeach Matt or he would not continue to taunt Jodi with him.

Seems to me that I remember the rental car Jodi was driving when arrested was a red Cobalt. Does anyone else remember the color. If so, that kind of blows the legitimacy of not wanting a red car because of JA's fears that red cars stand out and are pulled over more often (the excuse for requesting a white car when renting vehicle for her "love me or die" murder mission).

I agree with you! I don't know, but I don't think we'll be seeing Mystery Matt as a DEFENSE witness; I think that once the pros. questioned him and he realized the gravity of the situation and what he had to lose, I agree mylife; I think he is POSSIBLY now a witness scheduled for the prosecution's rebuttal case!

Can you imagine what effect it would have if he actually has knowledge that Jodi MANUFACTURED THE PEDO CASE, and if that was finally brought out in court! BOOM! I sure hope it's coming! Think about it; Juan has made several references to Matt's betraying Jodi or not, as well as hinted at knowledge HE has, but always stopped short of letting us all in on the whole story. I think there is a good chance that a bombshell could be coming...

i don't want them to bring the pedo letters in... I'd like for them to discuss them like they did with the suicide letters... I dont' want anymore thoughts put in the jurors head regarding the pedo thing... Ask Matt about manufacturing evidence to support JA's claims of pedo/abuse at her request but not details of the letters... I'm curious about the suicide letters, if they were really that wouldn't you read part to show her remores? I think like the trick on Mimi he gave them to her to imply that there is something really there but in reality it says if i go to prison over this i'll just kill myself because this is BS.... it would be sarcastic venting with no intent behind it... if it was a true note to her grand-parents and family then you'd expect something along the lines of saying sorry, wish i could take it back, etc and therefore want to die...

Does anyone know WHY there is no court on Monday or Tuesday? This is dragging out to a ridiculous degree. I just hope the rest of the defense witnesses are short, and that Juan makes mincemeat out of them. I just can't wait for the rebuttal case!

i heard something about a scheduling mishap and they were off then they could do it but a couple of the jurors couldn't because they made plans because they thought they were off... don't know how true any of that is...

Excellent point, BMore. If these purported suicide letters could actually testify to the legitimacy of her continued claim that she intended to kill herself (hence the "No jury will ever convict me" statement) Nurmi would have had her reading them out loud in a nano-second. Probably just some rant with a passing mention of "not believing I can go on like this" drivel that Nurmi twists to convey an intent to commit suicide. Just my thoughts...

On of TA's friends was on Dr. D last night... talked about how JA was stressing him out, becoming to clingy and smothering him... TA was "militant" about being on time /early... this guy came to pick him up and he was still in his robe, JA had him all screwed up... He'd go out and come home and find her in his house, bed, CLOSET!...

I don't think the letters will come in as the judge HAD ruled them out;
there was earlier evidence the letters could be frauds;
no evidence they were actually written by Travis'
jury has not seen the letters but Nurmi managed to slip in something early on and the judge got ticked at him.

See. The letters are NOT originals.
Only "copies" the mother tried to sell to media.
Media would not buy.
No evidence the chain of custody of the evidence.
Matt was somehow involved.
And... Travis' journals ? Some are missing.

Now. JA said she was "helping" Travis on a book he was writing.
I shared a few weeks ago, info from a person who REALLY did help Travis write a book; he had thanked her in the forward and that ticked off JA;
JA had a stink fit on the stand stating SHE had proofed ALL his work and he would not even give her recognition in his book.

The other person, I want to say Katie?, had written to him on her fb page;
she said to him, you didn't need my help, etc.. She told Travis he was VERY WELL WRITTEN and could handle it by himself! But it was a pleasure working with him.

The question remains:
Did JA make copies or have copies made of certain words/phrases and c/p them together to form sentences/paragraphs then make copies as fraudulent emails?
No evidence of ANY emails to her account re this issue.
No evidence of ANY emails on HIS account re this issue.
So. We are left with incomplete and suspicious evidence.
But the journals are still missing and her Mom DID try to sell the fake letters.

I know they were excluded but if the door is opened then they could come in correct? Even if MM gets up there and says yes JA told me to make these letters, they're fake, i made them up... the fact that they've been listening to TA is a pedo for a month details of the letters might stick in their head. I don't want there to be an ounce of a thought that any of that stuff about TA was true... i don't want any doubt that they can go back to what if....

I'm curious can ANYONE at her work verifiy this happened since there isn't any documentation? the break-in at her gmas was a week before the murder too... could she have done this breaking the window?

JA's gotten involved with these guys who were involved with different things, alleged spiritual things......

The Mormon church and it's practices are a mystery to me. I know it is for numerous others as well who are not familiar with it.

As with many religions, they have their own writings, they expect certain behaviors, a depth of dedication and various other things, from their members.

The Mormon church has been has been featured prominently throughout this trial. From the victim's chosen faith, to his position within the Mormon family, to having his most private and personal, behind closed doors sexual activities and fantasies exposed by the consenting adult partner whom he believed he could trust.

By listening to JA use words like "deified", and numerous others I cannot recall at the moment, is the defense attempting to use subliminal messages on the jury, by having JA use these type words, to suggest REASONABLE DOUBT by portraying JA a vulnerable naïve young girl who was on a spiritual quest and her involvement with TA and the Mormon church~ with all it's mysteries, brainwashed and confused JA as would a cult?
