Joran van der Sloot (22) suspect of murder in Peru
1 hour ago | Lima, Peru June 2, 2020
This article was in spanish....is breaking news here in Lima....Stephany Flores found dead in hotel room register to Joran Van der Sloot
All points to Joran van der Sloot (22) as the author of the crime of the daughter of the race car driver Ricardo Flores. The foreigner has a track record.
A Dutch national would have been the murderer of Sthefany Tatiana Flores Ramírez (21), who disappeared on Friday and was found dead this morning at the Tac Miraflores hotel. The family of the deceased said Joran van der Sloot (22) was the last person who was with her before her death.
"She left her friends at their San Isidro home early in the morning." At 5:16 am, she retired from the casino with Mr Van der Sloot,” it is not the first murder that he has committed. He has already escaped", said Ricardo Flores, father of the deceased.
The father also declared that the alleged killer left the country on Monday, May 31 by land, bound for Chile. His destination would be Argentina, as on May 13 arrived in Peru from that country. Interpol was informed and is on his footsteps.
Van der Sloot, who is the suspect, is charged with Natalee Ann Holloway disappearance, in 2005. The American girl had travel to Aruba with her class, but never returned home.
Holloway was last seen in a Chinese restaurant of the Dutch island next to Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Despite being detained twice, their age and lack of evidence, they were released and no charges were filed against him.
In 2008 and under the effects of drugs, van der Sloot told an undercover agent assigned to the case that he and his friends threw the body to sea. However, he later retracted. Months later stated in an interview that he sold the girl to the black market and as on the previous occasion, also retracted.

Thanks Piper, here's another article.
Natalee Holloway Suspect Joran Van Der Sloot Sought in Peru Murder
Dutch National Last to Be Seen with Murdered Woman, on the Lam in South America
By RUSSELL GOLDMAN
June 2, 2010
Joran van der Sloot, the 22-year-old Dutch playboy twice arrested in the mysterious disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, has been named the prime suspect in the death of a young Peruvian woman found dead over the weekend in a Lima hotel.
The man linked to the Natalee Holloway case is sought in a Peru murder.
Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, 21, was found at the Miraflores Hotel Tac in Lima, Peru on Sunday in room registered to van der Sloot, who was arrested and released in connection with the disappearance of Holloway , an 18-year-old American student who went missing in Aruba five years ago this week.
Officials believe Flores was killed exactly five years after Holloway's May 30, 2005, disappearance.
Flores was found beaten and stabbed to death in a room booked in van der Sloot's name, police said. A hotel employee told police that Flores entered the hotel early Sunday morning with van der Sloot.
"We have an interview with a worker at the hotel who says she saw this foreigner with the victim enter his room," Peruvian police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia told reporters today.
The woman's father told reporters that the she was killed about 8 a.m. Sunday morning and the room was covered in blood, indicating a struggle had taken place.
Authorities believe van der Sloot fled Peru, passing through customs into Chile, and is on his way to Argentina. Peruvian officials have issued an international arrest warrant for the Dutchman.
Van der Sloot reportedly entered Peru on May 14 and left either May 30 or May 31. He initially entered the country to play in a poker tournament, Guardia said.
Flores left a friend's home Wednesday morning and was last seen that evening leaving a casino with Van der Sloot, according local media quoting to the woman's father, Ricardo Flores, a Peruvian businessman and racecar driver. Surveillance cameras caught the pair leaving the casino together.
A funeral for Flores will be held Thursday, her father told ABC News.

I saw this afternoon that he paid TWO BROTHERS $650.00 to take him across the border. Isn't that another odd similarity to Natalee's case. They showed him being taken into custody and he had a smartass look on his eraser head face and no handcuffs.

I hope he finally gets what is coming to him. His head looked shaved and bleached. I can't belive they didn't have him in cuffs though.. WTH?
Re: Stephany Flores -- Found Deceased 5/30/10 UPDATE: Joran van der Sloot Confesses!!
I thought the same thing Fysty, about Joran not being in cuffs....hubby says they don't need cuffs because they'd probably shoot him if he didn't cooperate. I don't know if hubby knows what he's talking about, but it sounded like a good idea.

Van der Sloot to be expelled from Chile later on Friday
Friday 04 June 2010
DutchNews.NL
Joran van der Sloot, wanted in connection with the murder of a Peruvian woman in a hotel in Lima earlier this week, will be expelled from Chile later on Friday, according to media reports.
Van der Sloot was picked up by Chilean police on Thursday night, heading for Santiago in a taxi.
According to Radio 1's correspondent in the region, Van der Sloot is being expelled from Chile this afternoon as an undesirable foreigner.
Waiting for an international arrest warrant and the ensuing bureaucracy means it could take months before Van der Sloot faces charges, the correspondent said.
Instead he will be escorted to the border by Chilean police and handed over to the Peruvian authorities, the correspondent said.
Mother
Van der Sloot's mother is 'shocked' by the latest developments surrounding her son, the family's lawyer Bert de Rooij told Radio I news.
Anita van der Sloot spoke to her son by telephone on Thursday evening, the lawyer said, but declined to go into details about the conversation.
He did say that Joran van der Sloot had 'certainly not' admitted murdering 21-year-old Stephany Flores.
De Rooj said he was still trying to reach Van der Sloot by email. 'I am advising him to find a lawyer who knows something about laws affecting foreigners in South American.'
Extortion
Van der Sloot is also facing unrelated charges of extortion and wire fraud in Alabama, US attorney Joyce Vance said Thursday.
The Dutchman is alleged to have tried to extort $250,000 from the mother of Natalee Holloway, the US teenager who disappeared on the holiday island of Aruba five years ago. She was last seen in the company of Van der Sloot, who was 17 at the time.
Van der Sloot allegedly asked for money in return for the location of the remains of Holloway and the circumstances surrounding her death.
He has twice made statements about how Holloway died but her body has never been found.

For Van Der Sloot, the End
Why do young murder suspects act like reality-TV stars rather than murder suspects?

If there are rules of behavior for people suspected of heinous crimes, no one told Joran van der Sloot. The 22-year-old Dutchman was arrested Thursday in Chile in connection with the murder of a girl in Peru. But he’d been drawing plenty of attention to himself even before that: he was arrested and released twice in connection with the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway while she was on a school trip to Aruba. A failure by authorities to find the body may have kept him from being convicted, but it didn’t keep his mouth shut: van der Sloot, the last person to be seen with Holloway, has told various stories about that night, and he was even caught by hidden camera confessing to having dumped her at sea. So the last thing van der Sloot should have had in his Peru hotel is the corpse of another young woman. But that is exactly what police in Lima, Peru, say they found on June 1—the bloodied body of 22-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, the daughter of a former race-car driver and local businessman. Afterward, van der Sloot slipped into Chile, which is where he was busted.
The mystery, though, isn’t about whether he committed these crimes—circumstantial evidence notwithstanding, it’s conceivable he could be innocent, and a jury never found him guilty. The mystery is why kids like van der Sloot act like a perp at every turn, despite being tracked by the limelight everywhere they go. During the five years since Holloway’s disappearance—eerily on the same date of Ramirez’s murder—van der Sloot has reveled in sick infamy as the prime suspect in an unsolved mystery. Shouldn’t he have kept his head down?
He’s not alone. Stories like van der Sloot’s are increasingly common among the current post-teen generation that grew up on reality television and virtual realism. Think of suspected child-killer Casey Anthony and the study-abroad student-murderer Amanda Knox, for instance. Kids in big trouble share the same sense of life without consequences—and an obvious loss of their moral compass—when it comes to the gravity of the accusations against them. It’s as if they’ve been conditioned to believe that life can simply be reset like a video game if things start to go bad. Or maybe that fame—even infamy—is so intoxicating that they just want more.
Florida resident Casey Anthony was 22 when her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, went missing. Like van der Sloot, Casey told authorities multiple versions of the events surrounding her daughter’s disappearance. She first blamed a woman she claimed was her babysitter, though the two had never met (she admitted that she took her name out of the phone book). Her conflicting stories were compounded by her strangely pretentious behavior before she was an official suspect. Not only had she waited a month to report her toddler’s disappearance, she spent that month partying with friends. Even after she became a suspect in the case, in which she maintains her innocence, she was photographed living it up at Orlando nightclubs. When Caylee’s decaying body was finally found with the skull wrapped in duct tape, Casey was arrested for first-degree murder and is currently awaiting trial. Only then did she seem to understand the magnitude of the allegations against her.
Certainly no one is more famous as an irreverent celebrity suspect than Seattle native Amanda Knox, who is serving a 26-year sentence for the sexual assault and murder of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, in Perugia, Italy. In the early days of the Kercher murder investigation, Knox and her former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, acted absurdly. Knox, with no apparent grasp of the seriousness of a murder investigation, performed cartwheels for the cops in the police station waiting room. The two suspects admitted to being high before talking to police, as Sollecito said, “to take the edge off.” They told investigators multiple stories and lies, including Knox’s naming her Congolese nightclub boss as the real assassin. For added flavor, she even described Kercher’s screams to investigators. During her 11-month trial, she behaved like a beauty queen on the runway, making what jurors later called a mockery of the court by her blatant disrespect of the Italian legal system. In the final days of her trial, when things were looking grim, she started to act demure. By then it was too late.
For his part, van der Sloot’s escapades are well chronicled, particularly by the Dutch tabloids. He has posed nude for an online porn site, and European broadcasters have complained that he often demands payment for his television appearances—especially when he confesses—about the Holloway case. During a recent trip to Thailand he hinted that he wouldn’t mind getting into the business of sex trafficking and even joked that he’d sold Holloway as a sex slave. He was in Lima to take part in an international poker tournament known for its drug climate.
His friends in Holland and Aruba say his reputation is one of arrogance and self-entitlement. When Peter R. de Vries, one of Holland’s toughest crime reporters (picture the male Greta Van Susteren) questioned him on a television program about Holloway’s murder, his response was to throw a glass of wine in the journalist’s face the moment the show ended. “This says something about Joran,” de Vries said after the broadcast. “He doesn’t have complete control over his behavior.”
With Anthony and Knox, their actions greatly affected how people—and, inevitably, juries—perceived their guilt. A judge on Anthony’s case was removed for corresponding with a blogger who had chronicled the details of Caylee’s murder. And Knox’s prosecutors in Perugia admitted to scouting for juicy details about her on blogs, where they hoped people would post salacious information they could use to their advantage. The court of public opinion can still reach into the court of law. New York lawyer Joseph Tacopina, who consulted Knox’s defense and represented van der Sloot in the Holloway case in Aruba, maintains that both are victims of bad press, but admits the prejudice is largely fed by their own actions. “In both instances, the sensationalism far outweighed the facts of the cases,” he told NEWSWEEK.
Van der Sloot’s troubles must feel like a recurring nightmare by now. He had walked away from the Holloway incident scot free, despite a mound of circumstantial evidence and his own multiple confessions. His father was an influential judge in Aruba, which may have helped him stay out of jail. But his father died last year, and he was arrested Thursday on an international warrant. Tacopina, who has not heard from van der Sloot, says that even if he is implicated in the Lima case, that does not “create” evidence in Aruba. Fair enough, but van der Sloot has probably also realized that, after acting like a reality-TV star rather than a murder suspect in Aruba, the show is finally over.
Why do young murder suspects act like reality-TV stars rather than murder suspects?

Re: Stephany Flores -- Found Deceased 5/30/10 UPDATE: Joran van der Sloot Confesses!!
I saw a Peruvian prison on Locked Up Abroad.........Peru has the world's deadliest prisons. Van Der Sloot will never make it, I'm sure the jails aren't much better. He's white, a foreigner, he killed one of their own. I can only hope he will reveal Natalee's location before he is raped, tortured and beaten to death.

Surprise, surprise....Joran has told the police he is not guilty.
The police in the Netherlands have raided 2 houses where Joran stayed with other people. They took computers, mobile phones and a USB stick.

It was on NG last night. Nancy had a substitute, so I was able to watch it! The information scrolled along the bottom of the screen several times. Maybe that show will rerun this weekend. That's all I got. Sorry

I've watched that video about 10 times. He seems quite pleased with himself. And the look on his face when he flips that room key, evil. She has such a submissive posture about her, following him with her head bowed down, almost shameful. How much time elapsed from the check in until he leaves?

Looks like about 3 hours and 25 minutes, Piper.
I wonder if she was drugged up submissive before going into his room?

Thanks Lottie, I kept trying to read it and couldn't for some reason...it just gives me chills, knowing what she was walking into. Like watching the video of little Shanyia Davis being carried in that hotel.

thanks for the video J4a.. i am just a little confused about one thing however.
the way the video is spliced, it makes it look like they went into the room, and then the next activity on the camera was when he leaves. BUT.. where did all the bags come from that he left with. they carried nothing in with them, however he left in different clothes and had 2 bags with him.... any insight??
maybe there is more to the video they are not showing.. but i am a little confused.

randilynn, I think Joran already had that room. Why he stopped at the desk - apparently for a key- is odd though.
Maybe he stopped at the desk to sign up for a room as if he didn't already have one, then took her to her first room.

Randi, I also think it is likely he already had that room and that his things were already in the room. Who knows why he stopped to get a key... could be one of may reasons. He was probably wearing different clothes because the ones he wore in might have been bloody..... just sayin'.
Joran is so creepy. It is so sad to see Stephany looking so subdued. Maybe she was drugged......
I think most likely the parts of the surveillance video that show Joran were spliced together to make the video we see.

Is that ever erie...
Her demeanor seems off.. Her head is mostly down... He looks all happy and evil getting the key, and she just follows him with no expression. Then entering the elevator and room is same thing.. I think she may have already been drugged.. She seems almost in a zombie mode...
ALso, I read that he had put up the "do not disturb sign" yet I did not see it in this video... Did he come bak?
Watching him leave, all showered, and newly dressed while holding the bag of what I imagine to be containing his blood soaked clothes almost made me vomit....
I also wonder if there were any complaints from other occupants? It had to be loud... The only thing I wonder, is if she was drugged, with that date rape drug, cud she have been totally defenseless, where she was unable to defend herself at all and even scream?
I know her father hopes that she will have his skin under her fingernails, but I am beginning to wonder if that drug wud make her almost paralysed and not have been able to fight for her life...
RIP Stephany, and God Bless your family....

Aruba did nothing to aid in solving Natalie's case all these years. And apparently the FBI recently screwed up too - How does someone as big and well known as Joran slip out of Aruba when the FBI are right there supposedly keeping an eye on him and ready to arrest him? He won't be able to wiggle his way out of Peru, though. Too much evidence.... and I am sure there will be forensics galore. kh

I just heard on Prime News(CNN) that Stephanie F was an 'out' lesbian. So what they heck was she doing going to Joran's room?
Is it possible she went there with him to get some money he may have borrowed at the casino....and then he had other plans, found out she was not interested and beat her to death?

I heard the same thing, Lottie....this thread was split for some reason, so there is more info on a thread for Stephany.
From what I understand she was a known gambler, frequented the clubs and had a recent $5.000.00 winning..
I can't confirm that.....it's just what I've read from various news sites, national and international.

I read that she did win that night and it was expected that she wud have had money on her, that night but when they found her there was no money..
I wonder if she loaned him money to gamble? He may have lied to her saying that if she loaned him some money he cud give it bak to her, she cud drive him bak to his hotel where he wud return the cash to her...She may have gone in the hotel with him infear he wudnt bring it bak to the car..I thought she may have looked drugged in the video with her head down, but now I am wondering if she was kind of embarrassed and angry for having to go and get money back.. maybe kind of sorry for ever trusting him in the 1st place...She didnt look very happy in the video ..maybe kind of embarrassed for being there with him..
Once they got inside the room, he may have attacked her right then...after he killed her he may have robbed her of the money she allegedly had..The smirk we see on Monsters face, in the video was maybe him pretending to look foolish for having left his wallet in his room where the money was and maybe even told her he forgot the key too...
I suspect his motive was not a sexually driven crime
I bet it was all about money ..I hope the cabbies who took $600 from him for the border crossing fare, still had some cash that cud be used forensically to test for hers and his blood, on the money...

Jail security tightens for van der Sloot
Published: June 7, 2010 at 8:54 AM
LIMA, June 7 (UPI) -- Security surrounding Dutch homicide suspect Joran van der Sloot tightened after prison guards learned of a possible suicide attempt, Peruvian officials said.
Van der Sloot, 22, is charged in Lima with killing Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, whose body was found in his hotel room last week. He also is a suspect in the 2005 disappearance and possible homicide of Natalee Holloway of Alabama who vanished while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba. He was captured in Chile and returned to Peru last week.
Homicide detectives in Lima said police searching the hotel room where Ramirez's body was found last week did not find money or jewelry they were told the victim had, Expresso reported Monday.
Criminal lawyer Julio Rodriguez said van der Sloot could face between 35 years to life in prison if convicted of Ramirez's death.
