ABILENE, Texas -- Search authorities are using cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to search Abilene's landfill north of town Friday in its ongoing search for missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

A number of search personnel could be seen moving about at the landfill via the KTXS tower camera, also located on the northern edge of Abilene.

Hailey's Dad Suspected Adkins From The Beginning

COLORADO CITY, Texas -- Hailey Dunn's father Clint is speaking out for the first time since KTXS first released affidavits with shocking information on his daughter's case.

Clint Dunn says he's no longer in contact with Hailey's mother, Billie Jean, since they weren't seeing eye-to-eye before the documents were released and now even more he needed to, "Separate himself from that situation."

ABILENE, Texas -- The Allied Waste landfill on the northern edge of Abilene remained closed Saturday morning with no sign of renewed activity in the search for Hailey Dunn, the Colorado City 13-year-old who has been missing since Dec. 27.

The gates at the entrance to the landfill are locked and a sign reads "Closed," one day after more than a dozen law enforcement personnel, including cadaver dogs trained to search for decomposing bodies, searched for any remains or evidence related to the case.

There are signs of concern across the community — with orange ribbons tied around trees and flyers posted on storefronts and public offices. Car windows are adorned with messages in neon orange shoe polish that offer hope but are tinged with desperation. Authorities searched an Abilene landfill with cadaver dogs Friday, but did not find her. Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer said Saturday that the search had been completed and was unsuccessful.

This is the January 3rd interview with suspect Shawn Adkins, Billie Dunn's boyfriend who lived in the home.

It reeks of deception to me. But, I was totally wrong about Somer Thompson's mom when I watched her interviews. I sent this Adkins interview to Eyes for Lies for analysis. If she analyzes it, I'll provide the link.

I was glad to see the link as I was looking forward to seeing his interview. Then, when I tried it, twice, it said that page was not available.

You know how old women are, now my curiosity is really up and I want to read what he had to say. I watched NG last night and she was giving the mom a hard time for having a New Year's eve party, only 4 days after Hailey disappeared. But the mom said, only her family was there, and it was for support for her, not a party. NG asked if food was served and she said yes, that a lot of food had been brought to her house. I know that happens, when my daughter was killed, our kitchen was overflowing with food.

Then NG asked if drinks were served, and she said No, only the BF had a few beers, which was usual for him, but no one else was drinking. NG said, OK, food and drinks were served. Was the tv on, did you watch the ball drop? The mom said she mostly watched the news, but the tv was on while they all were talking. Well, we did the same thing when Kim was killed. I don't think my tv has been turned off since Kim died but that didn't mean I was having a party. Sometimes NG makes me sick.

So, since food was available and drinks (or at least beer) were available and the tv was on, that was a party. How stupid can NG be. She is such a bi*ch at times.

Yes she is,but she knows something is not right...their stories has not added up from the beginning..they now have 24 hr watch on them both!!They are just putting more pressure on them,an they will fall..even the mother said,when asked the question do you think your child is alive,she said she didnt think so..but shed not one tear had no emotion!Whats up with that!!!

I am de-lurking to make my first post. I've followed other cases, but had a question/comment on the video that TBT gave the link to. Had I not read/heard anything about the case before, I wouldn't have found SA's actions/words too hinky...

BUT

...in the video he says that the cops pointed out that she hadn't taken her things with her and that raised red flags.

Wasn't he the one to last see her on her way to sleep at her friend's house? Wouldn't he then know that she left the house without any of her things? THAT statement made no sense to me. And then it appeared that he was either biting the inside of his lip or got a little twitch. But that could be nerves.

What a great observation about the bf, SA. He and Hailey's mom were big time into crime/murder cases so, to me, its as if he knew how to act/react when being interviewed. So, that little slip-up you mentioned is proof that deceievers can't fully pull it off, as I've heard from the experts.

They have been so wishywashy about alot of thing..it scares me that since they have been reading other crime stories,they know all the detail that tripped other monsters up,if they did this her bodie is going to take time to find...but I believe they will find her...

Sherry, I agree with you and linden, it was a major slip up. He is indeed the one who saw her leave (allegedly) for the sleep over; the police would not need to tell him that Hailey hadn't taken anything. Other statements in the interview that I find incriminating:

"I love her with all my heart and I believe she loves with me all her heart". Outright lie or delusional belief. By all accounts, Hailey did not like him and everyone was aware of it in her world. He could have just said that they got along fine or something to that degree. The only reason for him to say that is because he is hiding the truth or he believes something that a rational personal would not.

"...we are ready for her to come home". This was his last statement in the interview. What? "We want her home", or "we need her home" I could understand. I think his wording is questionable and a possible unconscious indicator of guilt. When weren't you ready for her to be home Shawn?

May today be the day that Hailey is found!

Hi pi-girl! A happy ending would be a great change. After Zahra and Jonathan, it's hard not become jaded (for me, at least). Struggling, but still remaining hopeful for Hailey (and Kyron, and Haleigh and all the other missing angels...).

Deputies in Scurry County tell us they were alerted by Mitchell County that a girl matching Hailey’s description got into red car heading into Scurry County on Highway 208.

well folks its 1:23 am,an cant sleep thinking,about tomorrow,it has been on my mind for days,that if shawn did something to Hailey,he would hide her somewhere that he is real familier with,places were he has hunted,a town such as Dunn,not much going on.alot of dirt roads ,old farm places..an after seeing his sick vidios.with chainsaws,big knifes,I just feel she is somewhere in Dunn.I dont know why but I just cant get that out of my mind!

ABILENE — A possible sighting of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn was a false alarm, officials with the task force said this morning.

Investigators received a tip that Hailey was spotted in a pickup on Highway 208 near Dunn,, 10 miles north of Colorado City.

So glad Klaas Kids is getting involved and have assigned a Search Manager. Should make future searches well organized and safe for volunteers. I just hope Marc Klaas's very public blasting of LE's handling of the case in the first days (on Nancy Grace) does not impede his team from working well with LE - that's key. I love MK, was surprised to see him call the local LE incompetent more than once on national tv. As details of the challenges caused by family members and Shawn's inconsistencies became more known to all of us, maybe MK's assessment of LE has changed a bit and they're all working together to FIND HAILEY!

Landfill search yields clues in missing teen case

Well, no Hailey today. Hoping she'll be found tomorrow.

Today's press releases and news just kept coming and contradicting one another. Here's a synopsis of were things stand at the end of the day (from press and Nancy Grace). This is my synopsis as best I could and not expert or professional.

1. LANDFILL HITS: The City Manager (Kampfer) in Colorado City first confirmed there was evidence connected to Hailey in the Abilene landfill search. Then later today, he kinda backed off and said no evidence could be confirmed. By end of day, who knows? I'm thinking LE told him to backtrack so things could be tested; they should really have LE releasing this kind of info (imo).

2. NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN INVESTIGATION: Billie Dunn was on Nancy Grace again. Nancy's bombshell tonight was that the police are investigating sulfuric acid in the Hailey case. Shawn Adkins works at an oil piping type company and has access to it. Sulfuric acid can erode skin tissue and bone over time; it quickly erases all signs of DNA though (too sad to think about, but this is where the investigation is headed). LE is testing Hailey's bed sheets for signs of molestation and murder.

Side note: Billie Dunn tells Nancy Grace she never asked Shawn where he was when she found out he was not at work on 12/27 and even after she found out his cell phone pinged in Colorado City by Hailey's house that morning (he said he went to mom's initially). Nancy Grace lost her temper with Billie for the first time demanding to know why she hadn't asked. Billie said his lawyer won't let her talk to him.

A text sent from Hailey's phone at 2 p.m. on 12/27 is now being investigated. It was sent to the friend whose house Hailey was allegedly headed for at 3:15 on 12/27. It is not confirmed to have been sent by Hailey (it was sent from the phone shared by Hailey, her brother and her mom that was left in the home for the kids while mom was at work). A couple of new sightings reported today; nothing confirmed.

3. CONFIRMATION OF DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: In the past, Billie said Shawn didn't threaten her life or Hailey's life during the domestic disturbance in Feb. 2010. She said he just said some "ugly things". Below is the article with links to three 911 calls made that day. She claims he threated to kill her (Billie) and her ex-husband Clint and that "everybody would remember it for a long time". She describes Shawn as MHMR. I looked it up and believe it refers to Texas Dept of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. Meanwhile, another police department is getting calls that Billie is threatening suicide and requests a wellness check on her. Too much.

So all this took place on Valentine's Day, Feb.14th, and she is still with this guy? She said in her first call she has a 15 y/o son, right? She looks very young, does anyone know how old she is?

Two organizations aim to unify community search efforts for Hailey Dunn

COLORADO CITY, TX (KCBD) - The Laura Recovery Center and the Klaas Kids Foundation are joining the search for missing teenager Hailey Dunn. They aim to educate members of the community on how to search more efficiently.

Both organizations have assisted in hundreds of cases. The Laura Recovery Center helped in the Elizabeth Smart search. They say they're not trying to take over the efforts; they just want to use their years of experience to help.
