Monday, 2:15 p.m. Update:
According to the Snyder Daily News, an entry on the blotter at the Scurry County Law Enforcement Center Sunday afternoon stated a woman called and asked to speak to an officer on the telephone in reference to both Dunn and Adkins being together at the caller’s residence looking for someone.
The officer responding stated there was not a vehicle at the location and no contact was made.

Monday, 2 p.m. Update:
Billie Dunn tells KRBC's Jessica Reyes she has hired an attorney and is no longer able to speak with the media.

Dunn was scheduled to do an interview with Reyes at 3 p.m Monday and canceled.

COLORADO CITY, Texas—The mother of a missing 13-year-old cheerleader has bonded out of jail.
Billie Jean Dunn posted $6,500 bail in Texas on Friday, a day after police say she lied about the whereabouts of her boyfriend.

The boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, was previously named a person of interest in the teen's disappearance.

Dunn was arraigned in Colorado City on charges of misdemeanor hindering prosecution, possession of a dangerous drug and giving a false report to an officer.

Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs says Dunn lied to a police officer about Adkins.

Adkins was named as a person of interest several days after Dunn reported her daughter, Hailey Darlene Dunn, missing Dec. 28. He was never charged in her disappearance.

Toombs said Billie Jean Dunn has not been named as a person of interest.

But, "her arrest yesterday does not help her cause," he said.

Toombs said as many as 15 law enforcement officers continue to work the case, the puzzle pieces of which have come together "slower than we would have hoped."

Investigators hang onto hope and "hate" to think Hailey may be found dead, Toombs said.

"We try not to think about that but that is a possibility."

COLORADO CITY, Texas -- KTXS has confirmed that Billie Dunn, the mother of Hailey Dunn, has hired an attorney.

John Young, an attorney out of Sweetwater, will now represent her.

Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs tell us that Dunn told him she is no longer talking to either media, or law enforcement about anything, including her daughter's case.

Billie Dunn was arrested Thursday, for lying to police, hindering prosecution and drug charges.

In previous interviews, Billie Jean Dunn said she would not be hiring an attorney. She said innocent people do NOT need an attorney.

If she is innocent, I wonder why she hired an attorney.

I wonder if John Young, her attorney from Sweetwater, Tx, is pro bono. Maybe Shawn Adkins hired an attorney for her.

If Billie Jean Dunn had to put a 52 inch TV on lay-away versus buying it a few weeks ago, I doubt she has money for an attorney!

This is a saga! It reminds me of the Cummings, Croslin clan and Sheffields!

Billie Jean Dunn can't seem to give up the "pipe" her 25 year old boyfriend is layin' on her. She's addicted to him and the drugs, it seems. And her new big screen TV supposedly on lay-away most likely has a USB port.....how convenient! Nothing worse than a woman putting a man before her child. LE states he has all kinds of porn on every piece of technical equipment he has touched. It's evil enough for one to search and download child pornography, but for one to actually produce it and take pictures and videos is the lowest form of evil. I realize there is no proof of him doing that yet, but they are certainly alluding to that. And that's just my opinion from what I've read from the news releases. It doesn't surprise me that she's got an attorney, she would have to do that for the charges against her so far. And those yet to come.............

You can't tell me she didn't know her live-in's sexual preferences.........he may have presented it as fantasy sex and she complied, maybe she'd never really seen much porn before and he made her feel really special like his "porn queen", sick as it is. Shawn most likely didn't introduce to her his sexual perv with sex with children. But as a mother, knowing her daughter was creeped out by him, she should have known better than to keep this creep in her house and then continue to stand by him. I'd say they spent last weekend making up time. She needs a big ole Texas boot up her ass............and some prison garb. And all the while, where is Hailey?

Billie Dunn's New Attorney Acknowledges His Clients Mistakes

ABILENE, Texas -- The mother of missing teen Hailey Dunn hired an attorney Monday. Billie Dunn was arrested last week on three charges including hindering prosecution after allegedly lying to police.

Her attorney, John Young, says like others he thinks Dunn should have sought legal council a long time ago. Not because he thinks she's been unfairly represented, but because he says she was greatly unprepared for all the attention she's been getting.

"There were several times during the investigation that I wished she'd had a lawyer," said Billie Dunn's attorney John Young.

The mother of missing Hailey Dunn, 13, has hired a lawyer and is no longer speaking with media.

Billie Dunn has hired attorney John S. Young to represent her in her three misdemeanor charges: hindering and apprehension, possession of dangerous drugs and false report to a police officer. Young says he isn't convinced a search warrant for Adkins body was issued last Thursday.

Last Thursday Hailey's mother, Billie Jean Dunn, was arrested at her home in Colorado City after allegedly giving false information to law enforcement officials attempting to execute a search warrant on Shawn Adkins.

Linden, I caught that as well, then later in the article they use the term "victims and their families". So I assume they meant his victims when they called them witnesses.

"One complaint came from May 1997 from a 12-year-old victim and the other case came from April of 2002 from a 14-year-old victim."

The article talks about Mr. Burns accepting responsibility for his actions, but just the time span alone on the above dates tells me there were more victims.

This looks like a great place to post and keep up with the cases that many of us watch. The cases that involve children.

This case is doing what we all expected it to (yet sometimes it's scary how many of these cases fizzle out...sometimes for years and years.) Thanks to BJD for talking and talking and talking.
I bet her lawyer told her not to talk at all and she told hi she still wanted to do interviews. Wonder how long he will last?

I meant to ask you if you are on Caylee Daily? I am CrimeGal (LI NY) on TCD and have posted there since Caylee disappeared. I read every single document when it first started. Don't have the time now and TCD keeps me abreast of the content of the new docs and Express seems to be on top of all the news.

One of my pet cases that has been forgotten about is Nevaeh Buchannan. I always felt the mother had something to do with that...and like this case...the mother was dating pedophiles.

I'm afraid we'll never know what happened to little Nevaeh.

Looks like BJD and SA are cooking their own goose. Especially Billie.

It takes a lot to divert my attention from Casey Anthony and what happened to Caylee...but these 2 have managed to do it. Every day I check the news to see what is happening in the case.

I saw red flags flying all over the place when BJD made her appearances on NG.

Something didn't feel right...then the lies and the protecting of Shawn...then trying to insist that the neighbor saw Hailey (almost PUSHING that story on the show)...

Now look...it was even worse than I thought. the CP is a game changer and the # of images suggests something extremely sinister.

How addicted to this stuff do you have to be to keep that much CP around? HEAVILY addicted. So sad for Hailey.

Just like Casey.
I think we all knew Casey had done something...we just didn't realize how bad it really was.
My guess is that we'll even find out more at trial.

If I read that correctly, the warrant isn't to search his person, so BJD's lawyer may have a point there. Which would suck. Let's just hope I missed something in trying to read it whilst getting breakfast for two far too energetic toddlers!

Hi linden! I'm wondering of the fact that they found SA at BJD's house was a game changer because of the PO? Perhaps they then had the right to search him? I read the warrant too...but if he is in violation of the PO doesn't that give them the right to search him? Maybe I'm wrong...I don't know Texas law.

As I understand, Billie just has a no trespassing order, meaning Shawn cannot come on her property. Another one of her lies stating she sought an order of protection. In Texas you have to apply before a judge for a protective order, and have it granted. She met Shawn over the weekend at her mother's home (she was probably there using her donations to buy drugs). I am sure it was just for a "little bit", one of her favorite phrases. She knows the police are watching her, but of course she thinks she is smarter than the entire world.

The attorney of the only named suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn has issued a statement that says law enforcement isn't interested in cooperation in the case.

A letter from attorney C. Barrett Thomas of Abilene says Shawn Adkins has continued to speak with law enforcement despite the attorney's advice. Thomas says Adkins believes in his heart that cooperation is the "key to solving Hailey's disappearance."

Richy Cooper, Hailey Dunn's uncle from Oklahoma, was a guest on Bring Them Home Now tonight. He is Clint Dunn's brother-in-law. He has known Clint since Clint was 13 years old. Of course, he's known Billie Jean Dunn for a long time since she was part of the Dunn family at one time.

The show was very informative. Richy was an excellent guest and he told it like it is. I think he was honest in answering the questions.
