McQueary withdraws motion after Penn State response

"...In the October motion, McQueary’s camp claimed the university’s answers “did not fairly meet the substance of the requested admissions,” and that the two sides were at an impasse in their attempts to resolve the situation. Strokoff asked for a “judicial determination” of the genuineness and authenticity of the response.

According to the new documents, the withdrawal came in response to the Dec. 14 documents served via email, a second supplemental response to the plaintiff’s second request for admissions.

McQueary’s case was originally filed in October 2012, almost a year after Sandusky’s arrest and four months after his conviction on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse charges.

McQueary famously testified to the most graphic incident in the case, the allegations of the assault of a young boy, officially known as Victim 2, in the showers by the then-retired Sandusky. Although it is arguably the most well-known incident of the heavily publicized proceeding, Sandusky was not convicted of the related involuntary deviate sexual intercourse charge...."

For the third year running, lawmakers will likely rewrite the child protection statute to straighten out who needs a background check to work with kids.

The problem?

Last summer, when straightening out a 2014 piece of legislation, the Legislature accidentally exempted doctors from the group of people who need background checks.

A lot of librarians probably get a pass, too.

Before the current chain of editing began, the state’s child protection law said prospective employers needed to screen people seeking jobs with a “significant likelihood of regular contact with children.”

The checks review criminal records for child abuse convictions and state records to see if an individual has ever been identified as a possible abuser.

The previous statute, dating to 2006, was clear that those who needed screening included social workers, hospital personnel, doctors, mental health professionals and librarians.

Then along came Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant football coach accused of using his reputation and position to avoid suspicion while he molested children. Sandusky is now at the State Correctional Institution in Greene County, serving at least 30 years for his crimes.

His case ignited a raft of legislation intended to protect Pennsylvania children. ..."

Attorney General’s offices pursues action to have court reconsider charges dropped against Spanier, Curley and Schultz

"....Back in January, it looked as though the case against former Penn State administrators was going to be alleviated. A majority of the charges against Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz were dropped in regards to their alleged roles in covering up events in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case.

After a court decision made on Jan. 22, former Penn State President Spanier and former Vice President for Finance and Business Schultz have had the charges of perjury, obstruction and related conspiracy counts against them dismissed by Judge Mary Jane Bowes in the Superior Court. Former Athletic Director Curley has also had his charges of obstruction and related conspiracy counts quashed.

However, the office of the Attorney General Kathleen Kane said they filed three applications for reargument before the Superior Court.

Court documents of this filing are currently under seal, but the office said they are essentially asking the court to reconsider its earlier decision to dismiss the charges against these defendants.

The other pending charges facing the three men are failure to report suspected abuse and endangering the welfare of a child...."

“Porngate” has already resulted in the early retirement of one state Supreme Court justice, the suspension of another, and ongoing attempts to impeach embattled state Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who exposed the misbehavior.

On Tuesday, Kane announced that she would not seek re-election as she faces criminal charges of leaking secret grand jury evidence to a Philadelphia newspaper and allegedly lying about it under oath.

The state Supreme Court suspended Kane’s law license last September. The Pennsylvania House Subcommittee on Courts has scheduled a hearing next Tuesday to determine whether she should be impeached after an attempt in the State Senate failed last week...."

Ha, Ha, Ha!!! It's about time that someone pulled the curtain back on 'some' of the secrets that are always going on in Pennsylvania government! Who in their right mind has ever heard of an organization of ten's of thousands of employees and never any corruption or unethical practices by the workers, supervisors, managers and directors of these various departments of the state government? The coverup's and dirt swept under the rugs by high officials to present a vision of perfection is sicking! Human beings are all lacking perfection and any big money people that present an atmosphere of perfection are lying to the rest of society!
I sincerely wish to THANK, A.G. Kathleen Kane for having the guts and stamina to become a "Whistle Blower" and expose "Some" of the inner working that are so often hid from the public's view! Without her bravery Pennsylvania society would be living under a continuous cloud of corruption!!! "

Ex-Headmaster's Child Porn Conviction Reversed

    "I will not compound your pain by attempting to deny or in way deflect responsibility for my actions 35 years ago. I did those things," Wheeler wrote in a reply letter.

    Armed with that correspondence, Delaware prosecutors obtained the witness tampering warrants that were used to search all of Wheeler's electronic devices and digital media. The warrants "covered Wheeler's entire digital universe and essentially had no limitations," the March 2 ruling states...."

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Jerry Sandusky was found guilty Friday night on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual molestation and faces up to 442 years in prison.

A jury of Sandusky's Centre County, Pa., neighbors determined that the former Penn State defensive coordinator sexually abused children over a 15-year period, using his stature as a local coaching hero and his position with the Second Mile charity to target and then violate at-risk kids from the area.

The jury deliberated for about 20 hours after a trial that stretched across eight days at Centre County Courthouse. The jury foreman read the counts and said "guilty" on six consecutive counts before saying "not guilty" for the first time. He read all 48 counts.

Sandusky, wearing a brown blazer, stood motionless with his left hand in his pocket, his eyes on the jury. His wife, Dottie, and three of his adopted sons and one adopted daughter sat to his right. Matt Sandusky, their adopted son who Thursday said Jerry Sandusky had molested him, was not present.

In the scene with Rachel McAdams in a bar trying to get the guy to give her more info on the sex scandal.......the TV is on..and a football game is playing...and its Penn state with the QB running to the sideline and he is standing there talking to Joe Paterno during a time out for a fairly long time! Hardly a coincidence i'm sure.....and I laughed to my friends at how they just placed that TV in the bar with that particular football scene during that part of the movie ...... what's funny is..I believe the date was January 7th or so of 1980 or so which would have been AFTER any bowl games back then, but I guess the director really wanted us to remember child abuse! ...."

I always thought that we hadn't heard the whole story when it came to this. Some people may get mad and defend Joe Paterno, saying that the media is soiling his name after he's dead without him being able to defend himself. Others will outright call these assistants liars. But for all of the good that Joe pattern had done in his life, when are we just going to admit he knowingly allowed this animal to molest children in secrecy because he was a great defensive coordinator?? It's now coming out little by little that he and the university may have known since as early as 1976. For me, this changes the way I will look at his legacy and the way I will remember not only Joe Paterno but the way I look at PSU as a whole. ....."

He was 15 years old at the time and had previously been abused by a local priest. The victim, who is now 62 years old, told Paterno and the complaint went ignored by the longtime head coach. Paterno accused him of making it up and said that he would call the authorities.

The details of his abuse were confirmed to CNN by one of the victim's close friends from the 70s and a Pennsylvania state trooper that was told after Sandusky's arrest.

“That kind of took the wind out of me,” the victim tells CNN. “I knew, I had a feeling when I first came forward that this wasn't going to be the end. There's going to be more people and there is, there was. It's crazy. I am just kind of lost for words right now.”

The victim was one of 30 men who received part of a $60 million settlement with the university. Penn State paid for his two-plus years in rehab that ended in 2014, when he dealt with alcohol abuse...."

What about the bigger story regarding Centre County Pa. District Attorney, Ray Gricar. He investigated all of the Sandusky charges in 1998 including interviews with Paterno, Curley and Schultz. Then Gricar missteriously disappeared. All of Gricar's files regarding the investigation that he conducted also disappeared. Then in July, 2005 Gricar's empty laptop washed was found in the water. No hard drive was ever found. Worse, very little was done about Gricar's disappearance. Looks like there was an across the board stand down ordered for everyone and anyone who had anything to do with this investigation. You never hear anything about the murder of Gricar. I wonder why? ...."

New Docs Claim Paterno Knew About Sandusky Molestation In The SEVENTIES

"....In the newly-revealed documents, a man identified only as John Doe 150 says he was attending a Penn State football camp in 1976 when Sandusky approached him in the shower and stuck a finger up his rectum. Doe 150 says he told Paterno about the incident, only to be brushed off. According to the man’s testimony, Paterno told him “I don’t want to hear about any of that kind of stuff, I have a football season to worry about?”

The unsealed documents suggest other Penn State personnel directly witnessed Sandusky’s misconduct but failed to do anything about it. For instance, John Doe 75 said that in 1987 assistant coach Joe Sarra walked in on Sandusky with his hands in Doe 75’s pants, and responded by simply turning around and leaving the room.

Another accuser said that after he reported abuse, disbelieving administrators forced him to apologize to Sandusky....."

Son Jeffrey Sandusky also currently jailed on child sex charges

"...Last month, Jeffrey Sandusky, the 41-year-old son of Jerry Sandusky, was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Records show the younger Sandusky is currently confined in the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 bail.

The 41-year-old was charged with 14 counts stemming from alleged incidents with two girls who are sisters, including criminal solicitation and corruption of minors.

State police say the younger Sandusky was dating the girls' mother.

He allegedly text messaged one girl asking for naked photographs, and later asked her for oral sex. The girl's sister, 'Victim 2' said she had sex with Sandusky when she was 15 and he was 37, court documents claim, TMZ reports.

According to WJAC, the 41-year-old told the younger girl - 'Victim 1' - not to tell anyone about the message he was sending her, and later asked her to delete them so his 's**t' was not seen by anyone..... "

Does anyone recall the statements on of the victims gave of being abused by both the father and son while staying in the Sandusky home?
The wife/mother denied it ever happened. She said she would have known if something like that was going on in the finished basement of the home.

Partial timeline:

"....1993: Tim Curley and Gary Schultz become Penn State's Athletic Director and treasurer and senior vice president respectively.

1994: A boy, who was identified during court proceedings as 'Victim 7' meets Sandusky through the Second Mile program. The boy, who was 26 in 1994, said Sandusky touched him in ways that made him feel uncomfortable - most often during car trips or in the shower after workouts.

1998: An 11-year-old boy, 'Victim 6', returns home from a meeting with Sandusky with wet hair. He tells his mother he showered with the coach, during which Sandusky hugged him a number of times. The boy's mother calls police, and an investigation is launched.

In May, Sandusky is recorded by police having a phone conversation with the boy's mother. He admits to showering with the boy, in addition to others who were not her son.

In June, the coach promises he will no longer shower with young boys during an interview with Detective Ronald Shreffler. The detective says he contacted campus police Thomas Harmon, who headed the Penn State force, to end his investigation.

1999: Sandusky retires from Penn State, but he is given a 'emeritus' label. As a result, he is still allowed access to campus facilities - including the locker-room - and is given an office.

2000: A janitor, Jim Calhoun, says he witnesses Sandusky engaging in sexual activities with a boy in the assistant coaches' shower. The boy, 'Victim 8' has never been identified.

Ronald Petrosky, another janitor at the school, says he saw Sandusky's car in the parking lot on the night in question but claims staff were fearful of what would happen if they spoke out.

2002: Mike McQueary, who was then a graduate assistant and would go on to become an assistant coach with Penn State, reports seeing Sandusky sexually assaulting a boy in the showers. The boy was said to look like he was 'about 10 years old'. The incident is reported to Joe Paterno - who tells Curley the next day. No report is made to police or child protection agencies.

Two weeks later, Curley tells McQueary that Sandusky has had his locker-room keys taken away and that he no longer has access to the building.

Judge overturns child endangerment conviction for former Penn State president who 'failed to report' coach Jerry Sandusky's sex abuse
