michaelbkiefer Nurmi brings up the other side of cruelty: whether Arias would be conscious that she was inflicting pain and suffering.

***
Nurmi is going to JA having an extreme violent outburst due to her mental condition... Begging, IMO.

I don't quite understand how Jodi's friends and family all look like knuckle dragging Neanderthals that shop @ thrift store dumpsters, and JA's the odd one out.

You know, a lot of intelligent attorneys there in Arizona said its LIKELY the defense doesn't do anything in this part of the trial. They just let the State put on what they want and let the jurors decide if its cruel.

They said it doesn't help the defense to argue against it being cruel when a jury already convicted her of 1st degree.

Its almost antagonistic.

So of course Jodi is putting on a defense against it being cruel.

I'm laughing my ass off.

I was surprised to see her arguing against this. But I should not have been.

Yeah. Her mother doesn't look like that, though. But yeah, the peeps from jail and their little buddies.

NONE of Jodi's friends are there for her. She didnt' have any friends.

Matt McCartney didn't show up to testify for her.

Darryl only reluctantly testified and begged to keep his face off camera.

LOL What a nightmare.

Yes, Mari,
I think the defense is coming across as antagonistic, and it just emphasizes that their client has no feeling and certainly no remorse.

Agreed that fell flat. The defense really shouldn't have said one darn thing. How insulting to everyone, most of all, the Alexander's. They just made it worse and more of a "lock" for DP, imo. Loved the 2 minutes of silence. That was powerful.

Any guesses on how long? I say not very!

I tend to keep you posted with my potty adventures from helping the elderly to fights with the paper ass gasket holders but today takes the cake... I go in and you know that crack/slot in between the stall wall and door? usually about maybe a 1/2 inch... A lady had it covered with a streamer of toilet paper so nobody could see in when they walked by... What in the hell are you doing in there?

I think their big thing will be OK if we vote that yes this is cruel can we still opt out of voting for the DP if we want too? I think even tho they're supposed to be a DP qualified jury they might take issue with it...

This might be Jodi's ticket out.

All 12 have to agree on one thing. We don't know if they even agree on the sequence of wounds.

ONE of those jurors MUST give an at length interview when this schitt is over.

I must know!

That sounds like my mom. Some women are just ultra sensitive - they freak if they think you can see them.

I keep telling my mother "yes, I can see through the crack - but not really - just a quick blur - one would have to stand still and PEER in to try to make out anything. At that point you can KICK SWING THAT DOOR OPEN AND CALL THEM A PERV!"

ok I am back just in time for the waiting game I see. Thanks for all the tweets..I am a lil shocked at how quickly this all transpired today so hopefully the jury will decide just as fast.

I still know NOTHING as to what happened to my friends nephews..she did not discuss it and I did not ask..she just needed a big hug and the humorous distraction only one of my "stories" could give.

Yes Jury at lunch. When Nurms was arguing whether she could be expected to know whether stabbing someone would hurt...well the first I thought of was a 2 yr. old knows a needle hurts. By age 27 one would think with an Einstein brain she would know that. Actually, poor Nurms and his overworked shirt (stretched to the maximum ppi) had nothing. I think the better part of valor would have been to rest with nothing to say. They should just count on begging for her worthless life.

Poem from Joy McQuiston on HLN comments:

โ€œThis trial has been all about meโ€, said Ms. Jodi
I am the one who has suffered from pure cruelty.
They put me in a cell; how mean could they be?
This jury even went so far to say that I am guilty.

It was Travis who was cruel; he wouldnโ€™t marry me.
He wanted to move on; leaving me sad and lonely.
Why canโ€™t the jury get it straight for once and for all?
It was Travis who was selfish; he had dropped the ball!

I laugh in my cell when I think of this complete ordeal.
If it wasnโ€™t for Travis I would be happy and free, I feel.
How dare the jury try to prove that I had been cruel.
After all I am a goddess; far brighter than any jewel!"

How true...

I was thinking (IF you bought JA's story ) of how Travis sposedly told JA a 5 yr old could "do it better".... take better pictures... And this is sposedly what set her off?
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable she would have us buy this swill.
Unbelievable with all the lies she has spun.
Unbelievable with 3 gas cans... and thousands of miles to go...
Unbelievable equals undeliverable. JA and dteam failed to deliver anything of substance. They only were on the defense the whole time and that was to trash Travis, blame the victim game...

even if these jurors avoid TV, newspapers, direct conversations, etc... you know that they have had to have heard in passing at the grocery store, in the elevator, etc... that she had a tv interview after the verdict and was just as sh!tty as expected...

The jury is NOT supposed to consider the death penalty or let the thought of that enter into whether or not they decide if Travis' death was cruel or not. The judge specifically said that. I have to believe at least a few of them will not fudge on that or 'cave' on the cruelty aspect---At least I hope so. Better NOT unanimous than a slap in the face to Travis and his family of not a cruel death.
IF they can't agree, I believe another jury is brought in to deliberate the fact.

If you missed it, HLN on JA nad the media shutdown:

" ... The sheriff's office said it will abide by the judge's order.

"We will not attempt to contact Arias for purposes of media interviews until that order is lifted by the court.

Once the court lifts the order, and if inmate Arias agrees to do interviews, all interested media parties will be notified immediately by Sheriff's PIO via email. Interviews will be conducted thereafter in the order already received."...
