Re: Jodi Arias--Trial for the murder of Travis Alexander #23
I kept giving the jury the benefit if the doubt until I heard the foreman. IMO this foreman took charge and used his personal opinions to keep it deadlocked. As I posted earlier if be knew at the first deliberation that they were deadlocked on the DP then he was wrong in allowing any conversation on that issue during either the guilt phase or the aggravating phase. They were told that they were not to consider the penalty phase until the last phase. They were wrong in talking about it and he was wrong in allowing it. Again IMO he told them he would not vote for DP back before the guilt phase was decided. I wish another juror would have reported that to the judge. I have not been real emotional about the no-decision until I heard him. Now I am extremely disheartened and sad.

I agree with everyone. Until he SPOKE, I was ready to give them the benefit of the doubt. Between a rock and a hard place....really? REALLY?? Um, no. Your instructions were clear. You had M1 and esp cruel. She admitted to killing this young man 3 effing times. My paper quoted him as saying - she was going along nicely in life until she met Travis and then the trajectory of her life spinned out of control. What trial was he watching. Just listening to his "explanation" leaves me angry, unsatisfied and robbed of a coherent and logical verdict. I cannot fathom what devastation the Alexander's feel.
Don't know how valid this is but I also read that JAA cannot give simply an allocution in the next trial;she must testify, or perhaps not. In any event, I suppose there is nothing to lose. She will either get Death by Juan or life by JSS.
Happy Memorial Day, my RC friends. Cheers and all that

Re: Jodi Arias--Trial for the murder of Travis Alexander #23
I have had a couple of days to reflect and I have come to believe that this has happened for a reason. I don't pretend to know why, but I have some thoughts. Maybe it was to give demon seed the opportunity to do her media blitz. I think she was pretty sure she wasn't getting death, but that just left life in prison. She was really hoping it wouldn't be LWOP. I don't think she ever thought (along with a lot of us) that it would be a deadlocked jury and would be mistrial on penalty phase. She now has given pros. more ammo. Yup, not a good move Mz. Demon Seed. Also, if Travis' family elects to go forward with the dp (which seems to be the prevailing info as of this time), they will have some time to go home and reconnect with real life. I hope Stephen can connect with his wife and child and get some help for his real PTSD. All the rest of the siblings need some respite and counselling. When the time comes for the next 'trial', i hope they can come with renewed spirits and the internet community that has surrounded them will be back to hold them up. The actual community that has surrounded them in AZ will be there for sure. JA by that time will not hold the same fascination for many as they will have moved on. That also bodes well for a new jury. The circus atmosphere will be either non-existent or substantially toned down. I don't know, but I am willing to bet that Nurmtastic and Wilma will be looking to leave this mess as they did their job and she was not sentenced to death on this go around. New dt will have to get up to speed and God knows how long that will take. I am sure they will try to dig up some people that will plead for her life, good luck with that. Anyway, this is long-winded and stuff we all know but Everything happens for a reason.

Re: Jodi Arias--Trial for the murder of Travis Alexander #23
I'll bet Jodi's family is enjoying this holiday weekend.
And she will get to hear about it on her next visitation or phone call home.
I hope the jurors are okay - let them go in peace. They were shown limited evidence, not the truth.
I heard some talk on the news about maybe Juan will offer LWOP and relinquishing any appeals to Jodi in order to remove the death penalty second go-around. I doubt he would offer it - I'm convinced Jodi will never give up her right to appeals.
I hope everyone is enjoying this Jodi-Free vacation! A whole couple of months without seeing her face!
Woohooo

Yes! lets all enjoy the weekend and not let this 'psychic Vampire' or her minions steal any more of our energy.
Eventually the media talking heads will stop rubbing salt in the Alexanders wounds and this thing will 'fade to black'
I was planning on doing all sorts of work around the house,
but it went down to like 35 degrees last night and I
woke up with MY KNEE SWELLED UP LIKE A BALOON
Must have tweaked my knee at work yesterday...but I don't remember doing so. DAMN! I'm hobblin' around here while I can almost hear the damn grass growing!
Then again, it's the perfect excuse for a lazy, lay around weekend...

Jodi Arias could cut a deal
Jodi Arias could may have the ball in her court as Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery weighs whether to get a new jury to retry the penalty phase of Arias' case.

I've never followed a DP case with a mistrial and a new jury.
What will this new jury, if they go for it again... What will they be provided? Background info.. Or would they just be told a conviction of premed m1, cruel conviction and replay the penalty info?
Happy Weekend to all!

They have done it before in Maricopa co. and 3 out of the 4 new Juries came back with GUILTY Verdicts, so not sure of the logistics, but it is NOT over yet.
It seems the Juror with the nickname 'pony-tail Girl' has been tweeting about her experiences and is NOT in any way in agreement with the Foreman!
Among the things she said was they made a pact not to give interviews till after the weekend.
Apparently she will be on Dr Drew Tuesday night.
I for one look forward to hearing what she has to say.

Ponytail's name is Tara. She was one of the alternates. She says she never bought into Demon Seed's crap. She was the one who put the question in "if you lied to everyone, why should we believe you now?" She said she wanted to hear her answer on that one. She also loved Juan.

I'm confused how the alternates included into the deliberating jurors a 'pact' not to do interviews until Tuesday. Where were they to talk to deliberating jurors?

They probably discussed the "pact" after the non-decision announcement. The alternates were required to be there at all times...just could not be in the same room as the deliberating jurors. They were all transported out on the same bus as well. So, lots of opportunity to talk outside of the deliberation room.

In my idea, it's not a good thing to allow the jurors to speak about the deliberation. A jury is a whole and their "they think this", "I did't think that"... and so on is just good for media.

Tessie!
Just spent some time perusing Ms. Tara's Twitter page (Alessandra posted) 'cause you gave me some hope here...She sure sounds as if she could hang right here with us at RC! If only SHE had been the jury foreman. Ugh. I still haven't gotten 'round to listening to him...Just not up for it yet. It sounds from y'all that we ARE indeed very, very lucky that M1 GUILTY & cruel came down. THANK GOD!
I will definitely be listening/watching Ms. Tara's comments. She asked Hodi "WHY SHOULD WE BELIEVE YOU NOW?" THANK YOU TARA!!!!
Now let's get 12 more like her for the do-over this summer! PleasepleasePRETTYPLEASE God! With sugar on top!
Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend! (Sorry to hear 'bout your bum knee Glazier! I've been enjoying your posts...you've been voicing my own frustrations, so THANKS!)
Seriously. Y'all. I miss y'all already. Seriously. I've been thinkin' of each one of you, individually, wondering how you are & envisioning each of you ENJOYING your sweet lives! Thanks to each of you for being part of mine! Might be kinda pathetic, but y'all have become a big part of my social life (the sick bed can be a lonely place), so THANK YOU my virtual buddies!

Not close to the center of Paris, but 30 miles away, in a rural area. Yes, I have architecture and food rather close but conversely, I dream of United States , its landscapes, its naturel parks, its long roads and large avenues, its space ! I went a few time and travelled thru Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and enjoyed very much your wounderful country. Unfortunately, I'm sick in plane so I can't go easily again...

Seems JA is being 'hailed' by many as the 'ultimate revenge' killer.. All the women who would have 'loved' to kill that womanizer who mentally abused them and then used them for sex.
I just saw a ton of 'tweets' from people, male and female, writing to her, hoping she's having a good day.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Thank you to everyone who has served in service, whether American or not.
The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and I will be drinking alcohol.

You sweet thing...I miss you, Kik, and everyone here as well. I wish you could all be here with me for the weekend. The yard is all green and we were planting veggies and herbs in the raised beds and gardens this AM. It's pretty quiet---LOTS of birds singing! Little 18thc. house sitting right in the middle of this nice 'green world'. Tomorrow is the parade. Wish you could all be there and then come back here for burgers or something on the 'barbie'.
Tomorrow night is the big premiere of the mini series 'Courage, New Hampshire' on ISPN! We'll be watching that! (It takes place during the revolution in New Hampshire).
All of you are in my thoughts. I have so much fun here with all of you.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Oliver, the South holds wonderful sights, beautiful landscapes, fantastic comfort food, hospitipal people, and exquisite galleries. I am so glad you have been able to enjoy them. I was raised by Southern folks and am proud of that culture. The mixture of the Southern and American Indian culture has been such a blessing to me. I have learned do much about LIFE through them. I must say that we enjoy Europe which we have traveled to every year and I have worked there over several years. Last year we took a river cruise through your wonderful country and were in awe of the culture. It is so nice to have been able to share your thoughts, comments, and opinions through RC. Hope to see you more here. Take care.

Jodi Arias Jurors: 'She Is Sentenced to Death No Matter What'
By ALYSSA NEWCOMB and JOHN SCHRIFFEN
May 26, 2013
Three jurors from the Jodi Arias trial said the sentencing phase was "absolutely awful" after they were unable agree on whether the woman they had found guilty of first-degree murder should get the death penalty or life in prison.
"We can't come to a decision, and it was gut-wrenching. It was absolutely awful," said Diane Schwartz, a retired 911 operator, who for the duration of the five month trial was known as Juror No. 6.
The jury took a short time to convict Arias of first-degree murder in the 2008 shooting and stabbing death of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, but when it came to the sentencing phase, they were split.

Take care.
Yes Pianist, you described very well what I felt. When arriving in Louisiana, I even forgot motels and went to bed & breakfast. I eventually helped and sold hamburgers during a Cajun party ! Very nice. By the way, if any of RC's fellows comes to Paris, please let me know, it'll be a pleasure to meet !

I'll keep you in mind Oliver, especially with a question like where do you stay? Otherwise you end up booking with a travel agent or staying where they cater to tourists. I always love staying places outside of touristy places ;)

I have been to Paris twice in my life and loved it. I wish I knew you then. LOL the last time we went I had 3 of my boys with me and we stayed in an awful little hotel that had cement pillows and was across the street from a bar that had very loud patrons. They loved it, me...not so much. We had a lot of fun though. Gosh, that was a long time ago, it was when they opened up the Pompideau Center and they had just started on the construction of the glass pyramid by the Louvre.olivier57 wrote:You're welcome,

Now that we are hearing from more Jurors, a clearer picture of what went on is emerging. We do need to remember the MAJORITY did sentence the Lying CM to Death.
They were not fooled.
I like the reaction from the group of 3 when played a clip of CM saying "the Jury betrayed me"
"Not surprised" and "Jodi played us" Ha Ha!
They did say a 'bond' developed between them, and I can't help but wonder if that, combined with the
leadership of the Foreman led to reluctance of some to really 'make their case' and get 'down-n-dirty' trying to persuade the others?...more of a 'I respect your opinion but I disagree' kinda deal I imagine.
Now that the smoke has cleared, and whats done is done,
I can see how the process...the whole 5 month process, was as much to blame as any facts or evidence.
Perhaps blame is the wrong word, but I hope you get my drift. In a group dynamic situation many variables come into play.
A brand new 12 sets of eyes and ears, sitting for only a portion of what this group heard, and we just might get the outcome we seek.

I would like for this jury to NOT talk at this time UNLESS the talkers are ALL gathered together at the same time, at least initially. Above all else, I want to try to keep the fragile pieces of the judicial process together until this next jury is impaneled. Every loose voice is an opportunity to NOT select a "good" jury.
I would like to hear from the jury members at some time re the investigative tapes and transcripts from Det. Flores, the assorted HLN mini interviews with friends of Travis, etc.. There is a WHOLE lot of info this jury did NOT hear.
In the meantime, JA DID know what she was doing when she gave the interviews. She even stated how difficult it would be to impanel another jury because this case was being followed around the world. Of interest, she stated BOTH her attys knew she was doing the interviews!!! That will suck for the appeals process for her. SHE was the one willing to talk. And her attys were aware of her choices.

A bit off topic, but I have been visiting a Message Board that has a WIDE variety of topics and thousands of members...a really BIG one. I find it interesting because many posters have advanced Degrees in various fields, enginers, doctors, professors ,LAWYERS, etc.
I found they had an 'Arias Thread', not many pages, but with quite a few Lawyers posting.
They spent most of their time explaining HOW THEY WOULD GET HER OFF Or at least try as they acknowledged
the Prosecution case was daunting. They immediately began attacking Travis and the whole Prepaid Legal...how they would paint him as a ruthless snake oil salesman who screwed people over(and 1 of these people killed him)
Various other strategy followed, all 'putting the Victim on Trial'
They even cited the OJ case as a landmark in how to get a Guilty client off.
The reason I'm sharing this is, their way of thinking is so foreign to me...to take joy and pride in putting a brutal murderer(that you personally KNOW is Guilty) back on the street. Like its a game, and winning the game is all that matters. How does that give satisfaction?
How does that make the World a better place?
I know, I know 'somebody has to Defend them'
Maybe so, but I could NEVER do it, not someone like JA,
I just couldn't. I could never look at...say, the Goldman family afterwards.
If I had that kind of talent I couldn't waste it like that.
Seeing this really gave me insight into how Defense Attorneys* think.

justanopinion wrote:gsweater wrote:You know, I was so fukcing pissed off yesterday when I heard the word "mistrial." I just couldn't read or watch anything regarding this case. This morning though, I saw a video on YouTube posted by a former guard at the prison where JA will be housed. In it, he reminds everyone that JA is delusional... Regardless of whether she gets LWOP or Death, she will remain isolated AWAY FROM GENERAL POPULATION. With LWOP, she will remain in her cell 22 hours a day. She'll go crazy trying to find a voice to talk to. The other inmates around her are hardcore murderers and won't care about her fame and likely to target her. There will be no book clubs, Sheriff Joe doesn't run that kind of show. There will be a book club of one - JA. There will be no recycling program. A recycling container is considered contraband and would be taken away. So in the end, regardless of whatever the verdict is, she is sooooooo fukced and has no clue as to what she's in for. That makes me happy. The only thing I'm upset about now is that she's not already there and that Travis' family has to endure this phase again.
Not to mention... she'll be in prison with good ol' Angela Simpson who in the video below says she'd kill again if given the chance and has no issues killing whitey... I hope she targets JA.
Fukc you JA - CNUT! Either way, YOU lose.
Agreed, I just hope that Angela threatens and yells at JA... since JA said that "no one would be in danger as long as they didn't threaten her or yell at her" JA is a delusional POS and I hope she is as uncomfortable and lonely as she can be... I hope that she feels that living in her cell is like being buried alive. I hope she has nightmares and that the spirit of TA haunts her every moment.
Gsweater: Thanks, man. Just watched Hodi's soon-to-be-neighboroonie Angela, & I just about pooped myself. Definitely sucking my thumb. Omg. Momma. Hold the baby, hold the baby. Wowza. Head's up y'all: any one of yous feelin' a wee bit down in the dumps after the bogus hang job this jury handed down on Ariass...Take a gander at this clip of Angela, and you might just find yourself re-thinkin' the whole 'what's worse' punishment for convict Hodi. Here I was, all bummed out thinkin' Ariass might skate by with life in Perryville. Ha! Well, let's just say that I've got the ol' pep back in me-step now. Seriously, Hodi might just wanna flip-flop back to her pre-verdict preference for dp. I'd understand, after seeing this interview. Wow. Now I'm thinkin' a taste of her own psycho medicine might be just what the doctor ordered for Ariass. And I'm thinkin' 23/7 lockdown for a few years followed by having to fight for a crappy job just so she can try to EARN the right to have face time (aka sharin' snacks & idle chit-chat) with other psychos...well, that sounds just fine now. Good luck with that Hodi.
Hodi- you migggght just wanna shuffle your priority list asap. For starters, you might wanna face the fact that THE BEST CASE scenario you've got is growing old and gray with the likes of Angie here. Once that sinks in, you might wanna call up ALV to get an appt. STAT. 'Cause girrrl...You are about to be given a crash course in what is actually IS like to be abused. I seriously doubt that Angie is gonna buy your dog & pony show about how abused you were, how bad your life was. I'm thinkin' Angie & her 'sisters' might not be impressed by your victimology/coy librarian routine and Thesaurus and 'fire-hazard' fan-mail and diva demanding lipgloss interview m.o. Yeah, I'm thinkin' you might wanna stop whining about being 'betrayed' by the jury and start scheming how to avoid being made into sausage by Angela if you do 'win' and end up with 'life'.
I did a bit of research on Perryville prison, and one other thing really soothes my frustration at the thought of Ariass 'getting' life there. This one thing is pretty dang important for quality of life in AZ, and that is known as air-conditioning. To those of you thinkin' I'm exaggerating...well, you haven't tried it, is all I can think of. AZ, especially Phoenix area, is like the 8th ring of hell without a/c- especially during monsoon season. Perryville does have evaporative coolers, but I'm tellin' ya- they don't do squat...especially in a concrete jungle, with no shady trees for miles around. They get to shower 3x/week Iirc. Seriously, even if the other inmates were sugar bears instead of Angelas, if I had to live in Phx AZ without a/c...I'd lose it. Un-freaking-bearable. I'm just sayin'. JA is s-c-r-e-w-e-d.
So. On that happy note, I'll just wish y'all a peaceful Memorial Day. Shout out to all veterans and their loved ones. We love you and are so very grateful for your sacrifice. God Bless y'all.

Happy you loved it ! Yes, not surprising, there are some hotels that aren't very nice, small and noisy. It's very difficult to choose even when you're here, not to speak about overseas !! Fortunately, StreetView and Tripadvisor can help now ! And if anyone need more information just PM me

You are right, it's quite important to point to this biased defense. The purpose of defense team, those days, is not to be sure of fair investigation and trial but to try to get an acquittal whatever the defendant did. They just don't care of the crime. This is very a serious problem because it's always possible to built a fake story and to installate doubts. As a result, trials get more and more expensive, real criminal get less and less penalties, victims are less and less protected because criminals stay less time in jail. By the way, I had a look to a few other trials, and I noticed that after hearing to JA's lies, I don't believe anybody, I have always this sort of lies in my head. So, even if a defendant is really not guilty, you immediately think "well, this is again one of those liars"....
